Hi. :)

I used to run and play mass effect 3 with no slowdowns or anything with max setting and also on multiplayer which i played alot, the setup for that old system was.

OLD SYSTEM!
i7 3ghz processor
6gb ddr3 ram
HD5870
and win7 Ultimate
----------
NEW SYSTEM!
AMD FX 4100 quad core 3.6ghz
XFX HD7770 1gv v-ram
6gb ddr3
win7 Ultimate

this system ran the game fine

The new system i've just got is now having FPS lag everywhere, even in multiplayer e.g fighting a cerb mech or when people use the new reegar carbine etc...i dont get it  this comp is supposed to be way more capable than the last one and im having annoying fps lag and drops, even in single player missions like the cerberus bomb mission...im frustrated.

I'm hopinh some of you tech savvy people can tell me why or even help me with this, thx in advance :(.

try updating the drivers for the chipset, graphics and sound, see if that helps.

I think there are incompatibility issues between your graphics card and your motherboard.

So, if your graphics card's brand is AMD, try to download the latest driver in this site:

From the reviews I have read on your current card, the old one was better...but it does sound like a display driver issue, might want to try a slightly older one, as the latest driver does not neccessarily mean it will work properly.

Don't feel so bad, I am also experiencing slowdowns with the game, mainly on the Citadel, not to mention increased load times between areas of the Citadel.

Well, your 7770 graphics only has half count on in memory bandwidth, 128Bbit, and half the pixels per clock: 640 - while the 5870 has 256bit and 1600 pixels per clock.
So the radeon 7770 has 1GHz * 640 pixels per clock = 640.000 pixel processed
While the radeon 5870 has 850MHz * 1600 pixels per clock = 1.360.000 pixel processed
Additionally the 7770 only has half the memory bandwidth, 128bit instead of 256bit.
All in all you have less than half the graphics power now with the 7770.

To compare better between AMD graphic cards you can have a look here: http://www.hardwares...rison-Table/131
