And unfortunately, instead of providing quick overviews of these individual loyalty missions, Genesis sums up the entire experience in one minute, asking players "do you want to help your team?" What fool would say "no?"

Man, that sounds rather underwhelming. 

So, to review:

No Zaeed
No Kasumi
No Project Overlord
No Lair of the Shadow abroker
No Arrival

So...what would be their incentive if their game is going to be undercut by such a degree?

Lack of Arrival is not good, but Overlord IS completely skippable and Liara can just become Shadow Broker herself. And lol @ undercutting to such degree. As if comics could EVER replicate the full range of story & choices from 80+ hours of ME1 & ME2 in like 20/30 minutes.

So what choices do we have in Genesis 2? Anybody got a list?

I'm hearing rumours of no Jack romance flags, only Miranda and Tali. That sounds really weird and I hope it's not true. Want a list of choices and what the options are =)

Really wish this was a Trilogy release though. Would love to pick up the Trilogy for a new console.

This part doesn't make sense. They show Miranda, Jack & Tali yet only Tali is an option. On GameFaqs, someone said he could pick Miranda as well but not Jack. Maybe there's some bug? Or maybe your ability to pick Miranda/Jack depends on whether you pick "Stay true to friends" earlier on or "Move on"?

EDIT: This guy has an option to pick Miranda or Tali: www.gamespot.com/mass-effect-3/forum/mass-effect-genesis-2-spoiler-64665998/ So not sure why it shows only Tali in the video above.

wow they just CRUISED through decisions in ME2. you dont even get to pick mordin's genophage cure (unless that's tied to "make everyone loyal or not"

I would like to think theres more to it than that, but this really just makes it feel like theres some sort of regret internally over what ME2 was. They try to play off the shepard death thing, dont actually introduce everyone in the comic (no grunt, zaeed, kasumi, legion, unless they show up at the VERY end if you saved everyone)

And the last shot is of that kid. I WONDER why.


so the choices were:
Recruit Everyone or Some People, (probably doesnt count zaeed and kasumi), Resolve Conflicts or Don't Resolve them, Make Everyone Loyal or Don't, Prep the Ship or Save the Crew, Romance Tali/Garrus? And then the last choice is to save the base or not. I'm interested in what the results in the comic and game are of these decisions (they arent even choices so much as they're "did you do it all or not do it all? (Why did they show jack and miranda if they werent going to be involved in that choice? Is their availability there tied to the prep the ship choice?))

They dont cover arrival, they dont cover mordin's mission, and they dont cover legion at all. ME2 didnt mean anything to the overall story and this is proof.

@Isaac: It must be that stay true to your friends line. But its worded so oddly. I thought it might have been the line if Shepard kept the romance professional in ME1, but he romanced Ash. So its sort of misleading if that is what locks you out of romancing any of the "non friends."

Underwhelming and limiting. Is it even possible to save all of the squadmates? Remind me again, WHY didn't Bioware decide to bring ME Trilogy to the WiiU?

Bringing the whole trilogy would of cost a lot of money, and EA doesn't know if they would get such money back from selling the trilogy. This is probably testing the waters, and if the get enough sales they might release the rest

If this is true, than I should amend my original post to say "underwhelming, limitinng AND self-contradictory." Does anyone know if it is even possible to get the "No One Left Behind" part of ME2? (if you get my meaning)

Wow that comic is so watered down. I especially love how they let you make decisions with hardly any information. I'm surprised they even kept the Anderson/Udina choice in the comic since it has no impact on 2, or the comic and its Udina in the end anyway. I wonder who you don't get if you don't recruit them all. Looks like no Grunt, Zaeed and Kasumi no matter what. Resolve the conflicts... I know the decisions made on them don't matter but the genophage and Tali's trial have an impact. No Legion does not bode so well for helping to develop the Geth/Quarian plot, paints the Quarians in a very bad light in 3 then without all that background information. I assume rescue the crew or not means no in between, save them or let them all die. No ME2 only squad romances, that's so funny. Lost some of the team.... oh boy. Hardly any information on Cerberus, if I was going just by that comic and had only "pro human group, revived me" to go on why wouldn't you give them the base?

Just finished watching it. That was pretty unfair to someone if they were playing Mass Effect for the first time. The comic for ME2 was really bad and the choices just weren't right. Why should someone be penalized for not playing the game like that?

Just watched it as well, and it is indeed very inadequate compared to playing the actual game. Now I understand the pity 360 and PC players felt for us PS3 players when ME2 launched on the system. Thankfully I'll be able to get the full ME1 experience soon enough, though!

Regarding import-specific romances, specifically Tali, it is good to see that the interactive comic has a part near the end of the ME2 story that gave the option to "start something with Tali?". I saw it at some point in the Giant Bomb Wii U stream. Will never play ME3 vanilla given no Tali romance being available, but if for whatever reason I end up with a Wii U, ME3 on that system won't be written off now.

Of course, not the same as experiencing the games and characters over the years. But the ME3 Wii U comic would (mostly) restore things to where I've had them on imports on 360.

You can save your squadmates or save the crew, but not both.  I just finished the comic.
