From what I could gather, it may not be possible to save all of your ME2 squadmates in ME: Genesis 2... I may be wrong, I'm still waiting for word...

You can save your squadmates or save the crew, but not both.  I just finished the comic.

Something just seems wrong about that.  In the actual game we're able to save everyone, but if someone starts a game from ME3 on the Wii U, they're getting cheated.

People are getting cheated just by buying this joke of a game.

So it was just posted on twitter that the wii u version won't be getting omega (ever?). Uuh... I wasn't planning on buying this, but I am really curious who this game is even for.

One simple reason, they want the money from people playing online multiplayer.

BiowarEA, your company has truly become disgusting.

I just had a thought: Since in ME: Genesis 2 you must choose between your squadmates or your crew, does this mean that peace between the geth and quarians is impossible on the Wii-U?

Well, we could always hope WiiU is getting Omega later. Nintendo hasn't launched its DLC Marketplace yet from what I hear, so there's literally no way to put DLC up for sale.

So is this why the ending sucked ?

lol

Yes and no.

Yes: it hurt the ending.
No: it's not the only reason that the ending was less than satisfactory to those who hold BioWare to the same standards that they used to hold themselves to.

I guess I can kind of sort of see the appeal for this, if you have a new Wii U and want some good games for it. Maybe you just want to see the controller functions or the art of the comic or don't want to play through the first two, having done it before.

But, for the full price of the game, you can get the entire trilogy on three other platforms (come Dec.4th) and have a much more fulfilling experience. "I just do not get them."

Agreed. It's pure nonsense that they're forcing the Wii-U users to choose between the crew and the squad, given the fact that such a choice is never forced upon us in Mass Effect 2. Sure, if we d!ck around and don't complete some/all of the loyalty missions, we'll be forced to make such a choice, but that's only if we d!ck around. Plus, even the Collectors have already taken the crew, upgrading the ship doesn't eat up any time, nor does gathering resources for said upgrades. Going from system to system doesn't take time, either.

Those poor Wii-U users.

At least in Genesis 1, the choices weren't horribly contrived and nonsensical. Sure, the Geth took a back seat and Feros is inconsequential, but the choices that were present still make sense. There's no contrived "Sophie's Choice" that wasn't there in the actual game. I wish I could say the same for Genesis 2.

Really, only Genesis 1 seemed necessary, because Microsoft still had the license. There's no legal conflict in them porting Mass Effect 2 to the Wii-U. As complex as the decisions are in ME2, there's really no way to turn it into an interactive comic that does the game justice. Maybe that's exactly what EA/BioWare has in mind.

I don't know what I should think about Genesis 2.

I mean, seriously? Either save your crew or the squad?
''Start something with Tali?'' (Like she is the only LI in Mass Effect 2)

I believe reviews came in late because they couldn't access online features.

Obviously in order to get the definitive Mass Effect experience you need to play the games on Xbox or PC. Soon PS3 as well. I don't understand why this is being advertised as the "definitive" version of the game. Just like Mass Effect 3s so called "critically acclaimed" multiplayer. When in reality it is nothing special.

Same reactions from here about ME3 WiiU happened when ME2 came out for the PS3. Some DLC didn't make it in the PS3, though it did have PSN Store to get them, though WiiU have yet to have the DLC contents. Still, like the PS3, the WiiU version of ME3 is excellent even with some missing events and contents.

I'm guessing they released ME3 for the WiiU to see what people think about the Touch Pad controller. So far, I love it. Only obvious thing is the missing contents and events but I got the PS3 and PC to worry less. Newcomers shouldn't bother too much until they get the chance to play them. I still find it funny in the Genesis 2 comic when I have to choose between saving the crew or continue with the loyalty for my crew. That's like asking which eyeball to be removed: left or right?

I'm sure there will be the ME Trilogy for the WiiU someday. I mean long ago, some say ME1 will never, ever come out for the PS3 due to its long exclusivity for the 360. Good thing they're wrong, which is unsurprising.

Does the Wii U version feature that glitch in the Journal where you start at "Citadel: Improved Power Grid" instead of at the top, or is it fixed?

Truly disappointed in Bioware's ignorant insistance on not releasing DLC on the Wii U version.

I would have bought it, but their insistence on not releasing DLC on it out of petty spite or whatever other ridiculous reason they may have had caused me to stick with my Xbox version and spend $60 elsewhere, likely for the better anyways.  They lost $60 from me, and I'm sure plenty of others as well.

It sucks that they decided to not add new multiplayer DLC to the Wii U version, but if it's any consolation, both Leviathan and Omega are relatively bad DLC.  You are missing nothing from them.

Some of it is probably licensing issues. Nintendo won't let Bioware use their platform for free was well as selling content like DLC.

Most of the DLC for the Wii should be included save Omega. Read HERE
If you DON'T skaarofman, get on customer support and explain your situation. I'm sure they'll fix you up.

Like I said.. sorta.. that Nintendo may want to claim exclusive rights to sold content like DLC. They may say it has to go through their store and trying to get the Wii store and Origin to sync probably isn't a pretty thing to behold.

Every software company deals with these shenanigans ... why do you think there aren't a ton of games made for the Wii by everyone?

Enough has been said about the Genesis 2 comic's flaws.

As far as I know if you choose save the crew vs save the squad you lose either Tali or Legion. (my playthrough has legion dead. So yes, you are stuck with saving one race or the other.

The touchpad works well enough, feels a lot like a Sega Game Gear for comfort. (So tolerable, but not great.) Biggest problem I have is the placement of the melee and run buttons are reversed.
Makes switching between Xbox and Wii U versions a bit awkward.

Hey EA,

I have just read your recent comments on Wii U and supporting "4th Gen" (Pretty much describing how you won't be supporting Wii U.) You know, in the UK at least (where Wii U has sold most poorly) the problem lies in the pricing of software.

I won't shed out £49.99 on a game I already own (for less than a year), that won't ever feature any of the DLC available on the other consoles (why, by the way?) and comes out at the same time you're bringing out the entire trilogy on other consoles for a smaller price tag. That would just not make any kind of sense.

However, it is this simple: I will buy the trilogy if you bring it to Wii U, with the DLC of all three games either included or accessible in some way (eShop etc.) because I'm done with my Xbox, I am sick of my Mass Effect data/DLC taking up so much space on my limited hard drive that I have for it. I want the complete experience in one package with the improvements you've made coupled with the new experiences the gamepad can provide (both in gameplay and through off-tv play).

Miiverse is full of posts asking for the entire trilogy, people are holding out on it - they won't go near ME3: Special Edition because it doesn't offer:

- DLC, available on other machines
- A reasonable price
- The first two games, made available on: PC, Steam, Origin, Xbox, PS3 etc...

Releasing the DLC for ME3 would be a first step in the right direction. Releasing even just digital versions of the first two games would be another - otherwise get with it, take advantage of Wii U owners wanting for software to play through these slow months and release the entire trilogy in one special edition box set.
