What of ME1 and 2?

Barring Genesis, ME1 Wii U won't happen. MS won't let EA port it to another console barring 360 and PC.

Saying this though I am interested in how the Gamepad'll work for it.

I imagine it will be a great place to put the DLC download menu, they realised putting it at the end of the game upset some people so having it on your lap the whole time would be a significant improvement.

Ready to disappoint a whole new audience? Then again, quite a few people who didn't play the first two actually liked that ridiculous ending... And how the hell do you justify starting with the third game of a trilogy?? Corporate greed at it's finest....

Ask Jack how many F**** she gives about this... they really should just rename it Mass Effect Wii. They really don't care about the first game at all and the second can be skipped due to plot irrelevance.

To those that are arguing against bringing this to a family oriented console, don't forget that the Wii does have M rated titles, not as many as the 360 and PS3 but they do exist.

Though, yes it is possible that they will downgrade it to a T rating, much like games other games that were ported over to the Wii.

Not sure about this. First, How is this going to affect EC?, but also, I am curious how the game pad would work for this.

Bioware has completely gutted their game's inventory over the last two games.  The WiiU controller would seem to NEED, inventory, items and customizations to be viable.

So all of the elements that Bioware removed would work on a WiiU controller.  Ironic isn't it?  The very things that would enhance play with the WiiU pad have all been eliminated....

...unless they eliminated them in ME3 to actually incorporate them on the WiiU. It'd make sense from a business view point: cut some things here so hardcore fans would be bound to buy the game for the new console. EA wins more money and Nintendo wins money for selling their console. Win-Win situation for both companies and a complete thievery to the users.

Anyway, I'm just speculating, but I wouldn't be surprised if EA pulls this out. Hell, they're releasing BF3 premium pack so expect anything from them.

If I remember correctly Nintendo is trying to have the Wii U be a console for hardcore gamers as well as the casual. With the logic that just because it has games geared toward kids on the system it shouldn't have a game as mature as Mass Effect 3 on it then you might as well take it off the 360 because of all the kid friendly games available on Kinect...All consoles are going to try to appeal to all markets so if Nintendo is trying to take a step in the right direction and have more hardcore games for their next console then good for them.

That being said I don't support the idea of having Mass Effect 3 on the console without either a new Genesis comic or Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect without importing is really just an empty game. While the gameplay of Mass Effect 3 is great and it will be interesting to see what they do with the controller, the emotional investment in the story is pretty much lost without the option to import (or at least make some of the choices).

The entire problem comes that Microsoft owns the publishing rights for Mass Effect 1 and until EA is willing to pay the money for those rights, it's likely we won't see ME1 on any other console. As for Mass Effect 2, I don't see why they can't release it on the Wii U as a bundle with Mass Effect 3. You need to play the first 2 games before jumping into the third one or at least make a Mass Effect spin-off for the Wii-U

Not surprised in a bit, saw this coming ever since Riccitiello appeared on stage last year at Nintendo's presser and ME pic was shown among the EA games being developed for Wii U

Lol, it's going to be funny to seeing Wii player's reaction to the ending.

It's coming out in the Holiday season, EC will obviously be long released by then and probably incorporated by default into Wii U version so there won't be any bad reactions

You know, I this may confirm that there will be more ME in the future(which is a wonderful thing). I just don't see them releasing a singular ME game for a brand new system.

I HOPE that is the case. Although given the ME3 MESS that occured, they may just be trying to milk as much money out of this game as they can...

Doubt they will bother. EA thinks ME3 is a perfect place to start

This just shows that you guys must not really care or be proud of the whole trilogy package. If people can't get the first game, or in this case the first two, then why play the third? They're gonna be missing out on a lot of content leading up to the third. if they can't experience the story as a whole, they're not getting the entire experience, so honestly why bother? As someone said before in this thread, I woul have bought the game for ps3 if me1 was ported, but since it isn't it seemed useless to me since I'd be missing out on the first entry. Wii u players will be missing out on 2. Sorry but this just looks like the motivation isn't to bring the mass effect experience to other consoles, but for profits and profits alone. To anyone who hasn't played it and is considering purchasing it for the wii u, I strongly suggest you play the first two because they are in my humble opinion the best of the series.

I'm honestly disappointed. This franchise is meant to be a trilogy, so why forcing those gamers to start with the third game? It makes no sense to me... Still, I wish I could play the first game on the PS3, but they'll never do that port.

Holiday 2012 in retail generally refers to November-December time. It's not really Christmas since that's alienating the other religions.
