First, Arkham City
Then Darksiders 2
Then Assassin's Creed 3
And now ME3...

A Nintendo console getting ACTUAL third party support?! *head explodes*

Didn't they deny it last year? Guess stuff changes, oh well. Good for Nintendo fans because ME3 is the best place to start.

ROFL.

In all seriousness, though, what the hell are you doing, Bioware? All the stupid decisions that have cropped up recently, I feel like you've all just gone insane. You're putting the 3rd installment of the game series on its own on an entirely new platform?!? When the main draw of the series is supposed to be about carrying forward choices from previous installments?

Please, just stop this. Its painful to watch.

So I heard Wii U is sub par to x360 and PS3... not to even MENTION glorious PC master race. I'm just Saiyan.

See, that just boggles my mind.  Why would Nintendo invest all those resources (and its good name) in a day-one outdated product? If this Wii U is to target gamers, rather than the casual audience, then this is destined to fail.  I hope not, but ...

Glad to see the Wii-U will play something other than the usual "kid" games. I may actually consider purchasing one now.

HOW DARE YE!!! YOU SHALL BE PUNISHED!!!

The people who kept saying it's a bad idea to bring a ME game to Wii U on this thread couldn't really articulate a practical reason why it's a bad idea. I think this is a good move, both for Nintendo, and for EA. A new ME game will help Nintendo sell consoles, and a large user base of the Nintendo console will help EA sell more copies.

I don't know who the target audience of the new ME are, but I think I will give the new game a shot. I will buy the Wii U, and this new game (if same-sex romance options are still available). Am I their target audience? I don't know. I've played ME1~3 on xbox360, I have systems from Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Apple, etc. I'm just a gamer. If the software on a platform's good enough, I will buy the hardware.

Lol, it's going to be funny to seeing Wii player's reaction to the ending.

It's coming out in the Holiday season, EC will obviously be long released by then and probably incorporated by default into Wii U version so there won't be any bad reactions

That's assuming a lot about the quality of the EC.

Its not a new game. Just a port. Will you really buy ME3 a second time?

this is just more evidence that ME3 was a cash grab created for new players rather than those of us who played all 3.  this has surely been planned for years.  who on earth would want to play a watered down third installment of a trilogy?  well now that i think about, why not?  your choices dont matter anyways, so why even bother with the first two games?

Well, I assumed this one's different as I saw a girl playing with a toy plane in the trailer? If it's the same game, then no, I won't buy it again.

LOLWAT WiiU is more powerful than the 360 & PS3, it uses Unreal Engine 4 too.

LOTS MORE SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE!

WE ARE ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL OF THIS CONSOLE!

But seriously... um what? Really what is the point of releasing ME3 on a next-generation console? Especially one which you have not supported before.  While I do not object to making a game available to more players... it does matter in the way that you do it. What irks me the most is that you still have not released the full trilogy on the PS3. Granted I understand this is partly thanks to Microsoft. But the fact that you don't and are once again only making your most recent game available for a new console shows your utter lack of empathy. It seems quite clear to me your only interest is in sales and  very little as to whether your customers are actually fully enjoying your products.

Honestly I don't see ME3 selling very well on the Wii-U. Mass Effect is definitely not a "Family Friendly" game in any sense. Granted I suppose given how utterly streamlined the game is there shouldn't be much issue of porting. I'm still flabbergasted how much you guys reduced the dialogue. I don't even get the reasoning. ME1 already had a simplistic dialogue system.

I'm starting to think the integrity of Mass Effect is as much a lost cause as Overheating Weapons. Although if I didn't know better I'd wager the Developers don't have as much control as they should. Given some of the gameplay additions to Dead Space now it's quite clear there's an agenda at EA to make TPS games to compete directly with Gears of War. To which I ask... why? Look stop trying to make all games the same. The point of Dead Space and Mass Effect is that there are different. And the more different the better as this helps justify the purchase. Whatever if you want to lead to genre fatigue be my guest.

On the plus side hopefully with the Extended Cut no will feel the need to throw that tablet-controller into their Television Screen. Though I will laugh if the Extended Cut is charged for on the Wii-U version.

You guys know that EA pretty much admitted this was happening at last year's E3, right? It's on Wii U for the same reason Mass Effect 2 is on PS3: it's an easy port, so why not?

I'm pretty surprised this isn't a double-pack with Mass Effect 2. ME3's all about storyline pay-offs, and without any of the setup...

It seems to me that if the Trial had been implemented at the start of ME3, as we had thought it was going to be, even if only as an option (which could be skipped in a manner similar to NWN2's trial, or just a fade-to-black-and-assume-it-happened), then that would have given more options to new players to really immerse themselves in the story leading up to ME3. I'd like to think Bioware would do something like that for the Wii version (not that I have a Wii), but if they didn't think it was worthwhile for the general release then it doesn't seem like it would be implemented here.

I'm assuming that the EC would be packaged with the Wii version and we're still waiting to see what that'll be like, so not much use in my commenting on that.

Not gonna lie, though: I'm surprised that Bioware aren't releasing both ME2 and ME3 for the Wii. Maybe only ME3 seems topical? I just thought that the only obstacle to releasing ME1 was Microsoft exclusivity, which didn't apply to the rest of the series...

It'll have a new ending. Mario will come in and stomp Starkid to death. Then he'll give Shepard a star to make him invincible, and Shepard will kill the Reapers by running into them, gaining 1-UPS.

Didn't you hear? ME3 is the best place to stop! I mean start. You don't need to play ME2 or that other game whatever it is. La la la la I can't hear you because I'm not going to buy the rights to that game so that everyone could actually experience the entire trilogy cause that wouldn't be profitable enough.

Here look how awesome this Omni-Blade is! Now stop comlaining so I can maximize short term profits and run off with all the money before this thing tanks. Geez!

See, I actually think you can start with ME2 without *too* much fuss. It's not ideal, but it's a clean break story. But ME3 is all payoff. Act 1 -- Genophage! Act 2 -- Quarians and Geth! Act 3 -- Cerberus and Reapers!

You know, when Metroid Prime 3 came out for the Wii they ported Prime 1 and 2, and did a trilogy 3 pack. And that was not like the Mass Effect series where what you did mattered.

Honestly I would like that as a joke ending, actually I'd like it as a real ending too, lmao.

Xbox 360, Ps3, PC and now Wii U are the ways you can play Me3, four options is more then the endings.

Honestly, I don't this particular launch having much of an impact in and of itself. Presuming that the EC is released within the next 2 months as scheduled, any impact (positive or negative) that would come of it will have passed over by the time this is released. If the EC is a failure, then no more/fewer folks are going to buy it then would have otherwise. If it's a success then most people either would already have it or choose one of the 3 other, less expensive platforms to purchase it.

As to the wisdom of releasing it so late on another platform, I imagine this has been long in development pre-dating the ending debacle. As bad as the backlash this game has received, it wasn't so terrible as to cancel that size of a project.

tl:dr Much ado about nothing. Simply a new platform release now that Nintendo has the hardware to handle it.

Actually,  I'd say it's a choice that has potential to pay in spades.

New generation console sales are driven by the strength of the titles in the preceeding generation*.  PS2 was driven largely by games like Final Fantasy 7,  Metal Gear,  Grand Turismo,  Blood Omen,  etc.  PS3 faltered because the PS2 wasn't as strong.  The 360 was carried by Halo and Fable.

This generation is incredibly weak.  The only real breakout title was Gears of War and Uncharted,  and they've both been heavily milked already.  Everything else is just a ridiculous number of sequels.  So hundreds of dollars to play the exact same games you've already been playing for years is going to be a really hard sell.

Nintendo's positioning itself at a more impulse price point,  and showing support for core-gamers,  if it follows it up with a library of original titles,  there's a very real chance it can pull the market.

*New Consoles are generally driven by PC titles ported over.  If you look at the NES,  Genesis,  PSx,  you'll find that alot of titles were PC success stories.

Add the Mario music and that would be a hilarious optional joke ending.
