I tried to create the two merchants from the collector's edition and preorder discs because I don't know where to get these discs anymore. or where to find a Download of them. I tried to create the merchants but couldn't find the Baldur.ini file in my notepad. Could anyone give me some more advice on what to do? My thanks.
Setting up in game cheats.

Actually, now that I look under C:drive BG2 DVD there is no Override folder in there. I tried to create a folder but I guess you can't because it's a read only program or something? Could someone help me?

The override folder should be inside the folder where you installed the program.
I think that the default path is something like C:\\Program Files\\Baldurs Gate\\Black Isle\\BGII - SoA.
However when you installed the game, you had to choose where to install it.
It is usually recommended that you don't install it under Program Files.
By the way, thanks ussnorway for the link.
I'm not sure where my collector's edition disc is nowadays.

Thanks guys I'll keep trying something, and I'll look for that merchant Norway. But I still don't see an override folder in my BG 2 files.

You refer above to DVD and say you can't create a folder and you also referred earlier to looking at files in your Override folder. That sounds like you were looking on the DVD itself rather than the installation location most recently.Kellendor wrote...

Have you found the merchant in the Copper Coronet yet? The other bonus merchant is up the stairs behind Ribald (inside his shop in the promenade).

I may be wrong here, but you might need to start a new game in order to find him. If someone knows better than me, please correct me.

It may have been a an override folder for something else. I know I put it in an override folder, I think it was C: not DVD BG 2 disc.
