Edit: His exact words and reasons for locking a thread about not understanding why Liara is the only one naked (among the conversation): "Thread is locked because this is a game and not not porn".

lol.....exactly......but the thing i dont understand is they went further with introducing gay/lesbian characters.
1. What does this subject matter in this thread?
2. You've had your Ash long enough, let me have my Steve now.
Let this subject rest in peace.

He's trying to say that if they included s/s to the game (something that disgust weird people and all that), he doesn't understand why naked people is left out. And my friend, who wouldn't want to see Steve naked?

No proof that they actually gave in. Don't know what all happens in their studio. Also Liara wasn't in her underwear. If they truly caved in then why risk it with even one?

Nudity has what to do with these things? It looks poorly done to see someone showering in their underwear or not even bothering to perhaps put femshep under the sheets after the Garrus scene, but there is no rule saying that you have to show any kind of nudity so as to not betray rich, deep, multi layered story telling with ethical moral dilemas, and intellectual themes...

In the end I don't think it is any different than movies. Whether or not a scene is well done and mature, isn't really dependent on how much skin is shown. In movies you can find both good and bad scenes where there is nudity, just as you can find both good and bad scenes where the characters are clothed or the naughty bits are obscured.
For the most part I think ME3 had the best scenes in the series, despite there not being any nudity. The better ones (ME3 squadmates) were certainly the most emotional of the series.
That being said, not all romance scenes in the game are created equal. Some ME2 chararacters get a lame fade to black. And the clothed showering in Traynor's scene was a bit facepalm worthy. I don't think nudity was necessity in that scene, but they should have at least implied that the characters were nude. Just use camera angles where you don't see the naughty bits, but you can tell the two characters are nude.

I was referencing me 1 which the fox news story was about....THAT game was deep and rich intellectually and artisticly yet they only focused on nudity trying to reduce THAT game to video game porn wich was absurd and offensive and probably contributed to the toned down love scenes in the next 2 games.....get it??
and isnt love and relationships and sex a normal part of life? along with struggle and betrayl and friendship and survival, etc, wtc, etc.???? why edit it out? why sugar coat it to the point of absurdity when the violence and evrything else stays as it should be????

*thumbs up*
I would have prefered the couple being under a blanket afterwards, in stead of lying there in underwear - which would mean even less nudity, but work better over all. In general it should be the artistic merits that drives the need for nudity, rather than money or fanboy desire.
Of course I hope that one day games can be casual, non-controversial and artistic about nudity, but it's not going to happen with the current "core fanbase" (everytime someone utters "us, the core fanbase" - an angel dies) and the outraged, purist media. Not until the fanbase isn't "one" kind of people, but everyone.

Yeah I know about ME1 and Fox News. Not sure of many forum members who don't by now.
And yeah I get it. It was never a point of confusion. I'm just saying that I never heard any ME developer confirm that they toned down all the romances simply at the behest of FOX News. There is probably more to that decision. Which neither of us are privy to.
Love, relationships and sex are a part of normal life...but not everyone is comfortable with nudity in their games. Is it kind of dumb considering the level of violence is in the game? Yeah sure, but it doesn't change the fact that there are quite a few people who just don't want nudity in their games. If BW didn't want to put it in their games that's their choice. Be angry if you want. But it not your choice. Who cares?
Raise your hand if the lack of naked bodies ruined your Mass Effect experience? Anyone?

Human anatomy is so out of place, but killing isn't. I love this world.
And is rather stupid considering that the Banshee has a visible vagina (or azure) and EDI a ****** (while dressed... without clothes, she's plain, that's really odd).
I also always wondered why they show ****** and vaginas but not a penis... in movies, pics, everything, looks like the male reproductive organ is the real forbidden fruit.

you misunderstand....remember how the love scenes were in me 1 and how much they showed? THAT is how thet should have been in me 3 {and me 2} and the underwear for all characters minus 1 was just jarring and weird and no it didnt ruin the game for me....THE ENDING DID!

Why do people blame Fox News? Yes, they ran a "story" on the subject but ultimately it's Bioware's move on how to treat the romance scenes, not Fox.
I blame fox news because they do this with everything and mass effect did not deserve being reduced to how they were trying to portray it....because they are intlerant idiots......they tried to accuse lupe fiasco of being about violence because he mentioned a gun in a song once when lupe fiasco is one of the deepest, most social conscious, poetic, intellectual rappers in history!

Hint: ALL outlets of media try to spin things and create their own stories. MSNBC got caught trying to make the George Zimmerman case look like blatant racism. CNN and CBS aren't any better.
Trying to single out Fox doesn't do you any good.
