I patched to 1.02 but it seems to have given me the following two problems:-
1: The Level Up icon is flashing for both Charname and Alistair but I can't level up either of them (yes, I have enough points - twice over in Alistair's case).
2: Morrigan has gone through the joining dialog but hasn't joined. Clicking on her gets the 'let's get moving dialog'.
I've had a search through here but can't find anything related. Maybe I've not searched hard enough?
No level-up, no Morrigan NPC join

You installed the 1.0 toolset without reading the warnings, didn't you

I installed the toolset v1.0 immediately after v1.0 of the game and before I started playing. I have not installed toolset v1.01. What did I miss? I didn't see/can't find any warnings about installing the toolset at that point.

There is something wrong with the ID's in toolset v1.0 which can cause the game go off track.

Ahh.... let me ask the obvious stupid question: install toolset 1.01 and restart the game?

You better read the notes in the toolset forums. Especially if you don't want to lose any work you have done in the toolset.

And this fixed the rest (all) of it:- social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/189269
I confess that it took me a while to remember that I had been looking at the party NPC AI scripts with the v1.0 toolset. I used to script the party AI a lot in the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale series and I'd thought to do something similar for DA.
Thank you to all who replied.
[Edit] Typo.
