Probably one of the smartest comments I've seen about farming. Makes sense too, random golds hardly ever work out for me unless it ends up being farm game.

You could always try searching for Cerberus/Gold or Reaper/Gold. Cerberus is especially easy to find as the second most common (first obviously being FBWG) Gold games I find are Unknown/Cerberus. It may take longer but with the N7 matchmaking gone, it shouldn't take more than 2 minutes.

Reaper games though, that might be hard to find. I can't even remember the last time I ever saw someone actually select Reapers. I've only gotten them when the host sets Unknown/Unknown.

That's the thing, though. I do like playing against Geth. Just not on FBW. My go-to class is a QE. Geth are nice.

What I *want* is Unknown/Unknown. But if I search for that, I constantly get FBWGG. Hence the problem. I host sometimes and just wait for awhile, but usually those teams don't end up being any good. If I join someone else's game, there's a chance that they're friends and I'm just the smart-playing extra. When I'm hosting, it's pretty much guaranteed we're all randoms, thus raising the chances of someone just failing, flat out.

Farming in itself isn't a problem. I've farmed after DLC packs to try and unlock stuff faster. But it's overtaken matchmaking. That's the problem people have with it.


EDIT: Oh, also, as mentioned, it dulls people's ability to play. Play nothing but FBWGG, then try playing, I dunno, Reapers, Condor, Gold. It's like going from playing basketball with your little brother's friends for a while to suddenly playing people your own size and realizing, "Oh, they don't fall for that same stuff."

Does searching by enemy type actually work for people? I've never had success with it whatsoever. Maybe it's platform dependent? On PS3, searching by enemy or map just doesn't work.

Yes, because 9/10 if you queue random/random, you get FBWGG. It can literally take dozens of attempts to get anything other than FBWGG. It had gotten to the point where I just didn't bother queuing random anymore and specifically searched for Cerberus and Reapers. Sure it meant I never fought Geth, but it's the only way I could get a non-FBWGG Gold match without wasting half an hour searching.

At least, that's how it was before the patch.

But thanks to the matchmaking system, I now get thrown into silver or bronze matches instead even though I specifically queue Gold, and I rejoice at FBWGG because it's the only goddamn Gold games I can find anymore.

I have never had this problem, I put it on Random/Random and I rarely ever come acorss farming runs. I think you and others are exaggerating, if it was really this big of an issue pretty much every player would be having issues.

On Xbox 360 here, and about 50% of the time when I search something like Cerberus/Giant/Gold.... I still get FBWGG.

Odd when I search for anything else it generally works, and when I do random I rarely ever get WGG.

We all Farm I don't care what anyone says everyone farms every now and then, esp if they want to earn credits for PSP's. I usually pick random random but I end up with a farm team on any map (they're all farmable) and play it.

I just did a quick check, search for specifically fbwgg to see how fast I'd find a game, 3 minutes later no game. Switched to uug, instant lobby set for uug... Woah, yeah farming totally ruins the randomness.

The butthurt is caused by the farming when Reapers kill all teams.

A lot people who suffer excess anxiety in their lives find that one way of temporarily relieving that anxiety is through the use of low level violence (trolling, being overly critical, and spiteful) against others. The net effect is that, despite their own happiness being somewhat lacking, when they create or continue to fuel antagonistic situation it allows them to say, "As bad as things are, I'm better then they are" therebye relieving some of the disappointment they feel about their own situations. Its especially effective if they can justify it by pointing to some minor annoyance and say "Look, see how bad this hurts me". Its sadly one of the most common human coping systems. Sadly because it has the effect of spreading the unhappiness all around.

How many of you that claim to constantly get put into fbwgg games are on PC and who is on console. I'm on PC and this happens to me next to never. More likely get put into uug games and the team wipes before extraction. I'd rather get into a farm game than constantly get into games where we don't make the extraction and get credit for the run.

I think you may have lost the fun and have made this way more than what it is. People farm for gold, if a game make things cost, and money is easier obtained in easier ways then yes... people will farm for gold. Developers fault - Reward the sheep and they will go in that direction. FBWG could easily be changed so farming wouldn't be so easy, but is it... nope'
