Leliana, sexy Orleasian babe, bi curious, her enthusiasm is infectious, generally seems to be a happy person looking for love.
Wynne, seems to actually care enough to give the "unpleasant advice".
Shale, seems to have the same opinion as i do concerning humanity WE are doomed, but to tell would spoil the fun.
Sten reliable, rock solid, stoic Sten.
Dog because what is not to like about unconditional trust that will rip out an adversaries heart with out even asking.
Oghren the little drunk has kind of grown on me especially with the Wynne/ Oghren conversations.
Zeveran despite his totally crappy life seems to have adjusted to well and enjoys what little pleasures are afforded him.
Allister and Morrigan make the bottom of the list for no other reason than in order for them to be reliable you must give them what they want, revenge/demon child respectivly, or they will abandon you and the country to the blight. It makes very little sence to invest good gear, stress over thier points assignments, but as your stuck having to take Allister or Loghain, Allister becomes the lesser of 2 evils, not a very solid foundation for a friendship.

In terms of how likeable they are?
1) Alistair- He's pretty funny and the most affable companion you have.
2) Dog- He (the PC version refers to Dog as him) loves you unconditionally, though the Mabari are ugly as sin as far as dogs go.
3) Wynne- Always polite and helpful
4) Zevran- Fairly charming and quick with a joke, though he does try to kill you.
5) Sten- Definitely gruff and intimidating, but a nice and loyal companion once you get to know him. His bluntness is refreshing.
6) Ogren- Crass and Boorish, but his heart seems to be in the right place.
7) Morrigan- Once you realize she's only concerned for those she considers valuable she's pretty easy to get along with. She just doesn't see the point in helping others for no profit, which is unsurpising since she doesn't value human civilization.
8) Shale- She/it (golems don't have a sex, but she was a woman) doesn't really care for any of you but she feels she owes you something for freeing her so she'll tag along.
9) Leliana- The former assassin who's now a devout member of the chantry. A religion which she twists to justify herself as pious. Between the hypocrisy and the fundamentalism, I just want to put her head on a pike.
In terms of usefulness it's going to be different ranking, but that's how they measure up to me interms of likeability.

1) Alistair
2) Wynne
3) Zevran
4) Oghren
5) Shale
6) Sten
7) Leliana
8) Morrigan
9) Dog (aka Kaishar)
I mean, I love them ALL (ahem, Alistair most of all - yes, I am a fangirl *hangs her head in shame*), but I'm making this list based on the hilarity of the party banter from each one. I mean really, it's more like my top two...and then everyone else should really be ranked at 3 (and I think Shale has plenty of depth - mostly in the party banter & such).
2) Wynne
3) Zevran
4) Oghren
5) Shale
6) Sten
7) Leliana

2) Dog (AKA Llane or Meathead...hehe inside joke)
3) Shale
4) Morrigan (hey she gets nakied with you, what else there to say)

6) Oghren (I actually had a freind that was basically Oghrens personality, the drinking and lewd conduct and speech gets old fast im sorry to say)
7) Sten (to much a downer)
8) Zevran (cool guy really but not likeable as doesnt understand the word NO. More likely to pound him into a puddle the 4th and 5th time he hit on me then ever be his freind. My freinds (some gay) understand limits and not to cross them)
9) Wynne (to mother hen/preachy for my likeing)

Personality wise?
1) Shale - I just love dark, cynical humour. The violence is an extra bonus
2) Alistair - sarcastic self-depreciating humour, very British, I'm a huge fan.
3) Sten - stoic, and rather interesting, makes for a nice change.
4) Leliana - I'm a sucker for sweet girls.
5) Dog - doesn't say much, but having him around is a kick
6) Oghren - some fun stuff, but the whole drunken thing is not that amusing (haven't had him for that long however, he might grow on me)
7) Wynne - sagely wise one of the group
8) Morrigan - I tend to get annoyed at people who are vulnerable deep inside but hide it by simply being rude to everyone else. But it's not like I hate her, either.
9) Zevran - I don't really go for the whole loose-wheeling swinger attitude, but he can be fun as well.
None of them are cringe-inducing, and I greatly enjoy interacting with each of them.

Zevran
Oghren
Shale
Sten
Dog
i really don't care for the others much. Alistair has some witty lines and is a grand tank, but he's to whiney, Leliana, just no. Morrigan is a bit to nasty, and Wynne is just to, "yes Mom, thank you for that nugget of wisdom Mom, i'll try to behave better Mom, sorry Mom." :|

1. Leliana, that accent mang. It's like Tali all over again.
2. Oghren, he reminds me of my father after downing a few
3. Wynne, she is like that cool teacher in school who looked out for you all the time.
4. Shale, tough cookie with a heart of gold (do-ho-ho)
5. Morrigan, funny to have around when she is wearing a dunce hat while still acting like a ****
6. Sten, the type of guy you'd want covering your back
7. Zev, the type of guy you wouldn't want covering your back
8. Alistair, meh. For some reason my female cousin found him more appealing then I did
9. Dog, I prefer a cat

1. Zevran - Good convos with everyone, good one-liners, tough in a fight, best romance of all 3
2. Dog a.k.a. Orthas - never gives me any idiotic comments, non-sensical disapproval, and is the only one who gives me presents
3. Oghren - good fighter, some funny convos and one-liners
4. Leliana - a bit to preachy and squishy, but good in a fight
5.Wynne - looks out for my pc-girl, funny convos with Zevran, my preferred mage
6. Shale - like her style, except for the 'it' thing
7. Sten - challenged my PC to a fight, lost and stayed on, but a bit stupid. The arl of Redcliffe needs to be healed, some things have to be done to fight the darkspawn and the archdemon, but it doesn't seem to get into his thick skull.
8. Morrigan - for a supposedly smart woman, very stupid. Stupider than Sten because she doesn't seem to get it that there are things that need to be done. She should know better, she knows what's at stake, she's had first hand info after all. To disapprove just because it's a good action is simply silly. Dumped her for Wynne as soon as my PC could.
9. Alistair - all charming, funny, and nice at the beginning, but as things progress he shows his ugly side. The whole 'do it my way, or I'll throw a hissy fit' attitude gnaws on my nerves. He's just as bad as Morrigan in that area. At Landsmeet he tops all this bad stuff off with being a prime hypocrite. The non-noble can't become queen? What the heck is Anora? Her father was knighted, but had commoner background. If King Maric can knight a commoner, so can King Alistair, no?
Also, who's Gorim? Isn't he the merchant in Denerim? What did I miss? I was without Internet for more than a month, so I feel a bit uninformed.

Alistair- Loveable because he is goofy, flawed, and VERY human.Because he does have his grating faults, he also has attributes that make up for those faults. Someone with whom I'd like my character to spend the rest of her life shagging, getting stoned, and toilet papering/egging the chantry with.
Morrigan: Quintessential ****. Cold and pragmatic, even from a romancable perspective. Which is why I find her interesting. Bad enough to make her dark, but not bad enough to make her the sum of all evil. Apostate status just gets even more cool points.
Dog: Dog is my best friend. I find his banter the most intriguing and enlightening. I think he really is the Maker. I think Sten agrees. In fact, I think dog is really the ultimate Zen master.
Zevran: Kinky elf man-****. The fact that he tried to kill me makes the idea of dragging him in my tent later even more enticing. If I don't trust him, he can always volunteer to let me tie him up. And smack him with wet leather boots.
Sten. He likes cookies. All else is forgiven, big guy.
Wynne: It's always good to have grandma come along for adventures. Need someone to be horrified by wanton behavior and terrified screams of agony coming from my tent at night. Plus, sher's either undead, an abomination, or both. Now how cool is that?
Oghren: He drinks up my stash, farts excessively, and calls me an Asschab. It's like traveling with my mom again.
Shale: Psychotic menopausal golem, might really be a tranny trapped under a bunch of rock. But I hate birds too. Wish they had DLC where you could add a feather boa to Shale. It just seems...fitting for some reason.
Leliana: The chick creeps me out and gets on my nerves with her girly bits and religousness. French accent adds to irritating factor. Too femme fatale for my liking, especially since, is she likes you, she can get pretty damned "fatale". Creeeepay.
Never recruited Loghain, seeing how I always let Alistair waste him, so I never got that chance. Nor would I want to, as watching her royal highness Anora get splattered with her idiot father's gore is satisfying in a very evil, nasty sort of way.

1. Sandal - Enchantment!
1A. Dog - Loyal to the end. And also has some of the best conversations, ironically.
2. Alistair - Like the brother my Warden never had. Er, besides Fergus. Loses points for Landsmeet meltdown.
3. Leliana - Infectious optimism + red hair + sexy French accent = win.
4. Sten - Deeper than people give him credit for. Also the easiest to respect.
5. Oghren - So freaking funny.
6. Wynne - Not bad for an old lady.
7. Zevran - Has his moments, but a little off-putting.
8. Morrigan - Total b-word. Got tired of her complaining every time I tried to help someone.
9. Shale - Not a bad character, just not terribly deep. Total HK-47 wannabe.
10. Loghain - Technically only ranks last because I haven't had him in my party yet.

1. Leliana - Generally end up drawn to her
2. Morrigan - Practical and I actually like her (sad, I know)
3. Wynne - The only one willing to listen
4. Sten - Probably the only male party member I'd be interested in romantically, if he showed any inclination.
5. Dog - somehow never end up using him much *adds to list of needed playthroughs*
6= Shale and Oghren - classic comedy
7. Zevran - only worth keeping around so he can be watched. As far as romance is concerned... just don't know where he's been.
8. Loghain - only ever recruited him once and doubt if I ever will again. Didn't let him atone the easy way either. He put me through hell and you reap what you sow. Welcome to my world.
9. Alistair - one liners and wit, suaveness etc ultimately aren't enough to make up for him forgetting what he spent the entire game preaching at me. Don't think I'll ever forgive the walkout.

1) Alaister and Morrigan are my favorits. I may not always agree with them, but still...
2) Dog... just because!
3) Sten... I love to go on his nerfs. Still I like him
4) all others... they are quite fun to listen to.
5) Wynne... sorry, she is like a annoying grandma. The thing that upsets me most is that your character can talk to her just as if he/she is a dumb kid. I nerver felt any pity for myself because it was expected from me to sacrifice myself as a Grey Warden. Still the PC sounds either like a powerhungry idiot "BOW INFRONT OF ME I AM A GREY WARDEN!!" (how does one even get such a idea? there was no hint at all that Grey Wardens had any kind of power?) or like a whinning kid "Oh-ho, why has it to be me? *MEEHEHEHEEEE*".... She didn't tell me anything new, still she sounded like your mentor... In my eyes she is more like the grandma that needs help to get across the street...
@ Loghain: He will never be my companion except for the accomplishments... lying in a puddle of his own blood is all the support I need/expect from him...

1) Wynne! I love "kindly old mentor" types, and having a woman in that role for a change is awesome. She's been there, done that, and is at peace with herself. She has a sense of humor that includes not taking herself too seriously, and principles she will not break. And she's the only one who actually cares for how you are holding up and is there for you when you need to talk. Purely awesome.
2) Dog. Smart, loyal, loving and a faceripper with a playful side. What's not to like about our mabari? I just wish he had more dialog, and/or that he didn't count against the party size limit.
3 - 4) Toss-up between Leliana and Alistair. Both are reliable friends and good people at heart. I like Leliana's positive outlook on faith and life despite the betrayal and tortures she has suffered. Sometimes she's a bit girly which isn't my thing, but you can be friends and lovers with her even if you don't care for shoes and such crap so that's okay. Alistair is like a little brother and again, I'm amazed that despite having being constantly rejected and pushed around he didn't become a bitter jerk.
These are the four I really like. After that ... comes a big gap, and a quartet that have their moments but are not truly likeable overall. In rough order which isn't set in stone:
5) Zevran. I was honestly set to hate this guy. Assassins aren't "cool" in my mind, he's amoral at best and his constant attempts to hit on anything with a pulse are irritating. But given his past his behavior becomes more understandable. He has his amusing moments, and when he showed up to help me kill his old "friend" he earned big points in my book because he did not have to risk himself in that fight, he could just have sat back and waited to see who wins. Also, further bonus points for being hilarious in combination with Oghren for the Fort Drakon rescue.
6) Oghren. I was hoping for a dwarven party member like Gorim (who is awesome), not the stereotypical violent drunkard. A violent drunkard who is also a very crude lecher -- Zevran at least has some flair when he tries to hit on people. But I he made me laugh in combination with Zevran at Fort Drakon, and to my total surprise I found his parting words at the city gates and his epilogue touched me the most of all the companions, by far (I got the "sober, married and crying as he names his daughter after you" one).
7) Shale. Can't blame her for her attitude considering what she's been through. Her "bird thing" is good for laughs and she's surprisingly perceptive. Otherwise I don't have much of an impression of her since I never really used her, which will change in my second game, so maybe it'll move her up a little.
8) Sten. I'm all for honor and duty. But this guy is insanely arrogant, misanthropic in the extreme and doesn't seem to have a grasp of any strategy that goes beyond "frontal charge and to hell with the rest of the world" (no surprise, I suppose, since he looks down on humans so much). Plus, he really embodies the "selfish" companion design that I can't stand. "Selfish" as in never bothering to take any interest in the protagonist at all, never bothering to learn or make an attempt to fit in with the group. Yes, if you know how to treat him he comes to respect you. But his overall demeanor is very off-putting.
And lastly:
9) Morrgan. I have disliked her ever since Bioware started dressing and parading her about like a wh*re for the game ("face of the game" is really a euphemism). That sort of treatment is just aggravating in the extreme. Granted, it's not her fault that they shoved her ****** in our face at every opportunity, so I tried to wait and see what she's actually like. Unfortunately, she exceeded my negative expectations by being a complete and utter b*tch to everyone. Yes, she has some amusing moments with the dog. Yes, if I swallow my bile and break character and go out of my way to be nice to her, she has a somewhat touching friendship admission. But that does require breaking character, and since she still treats everyone like dirt and acts like she's the smartest, coolest thing in the world, it doesn't change that I hate her guts. Her offer in the endgame is just the last straw.
