I am sure Fernando that people are really impressed that the only thing the Bioware representative does is move the post instead of actually address the bug....
They read'em though. It's not the case in many develloper/bublisher forum.

Sounds like I'm screwed. I ususally just rewrite my save file all of the time and both the manual and auto-save spots take place after the apparent "bug". I can sit at Castle Redcliff for an hour and no more darkspawn appear and I am not allowed in the castle to talk to Arl Eamon (I went back to Denerim hoping he would be there for some reason, but of course he wasn't). Is there anything I can do or do I just start from the beginning of the game again? I have a bad feeling I just wasted 42 hours of my life.
You should NEVER EVER do that. At least cycle 3-4 saves, just in case something happens (save corrupts) etc. A game of this complexity is always going to have some issues that might need a quick reload.
Besides, it wasn't wasted, you can do a different origin

Ah. I see your problem. The problem with the PS3 version is that the PS3 is a console system. Your PS3 is still trying to figure out what is going on, and why there aren't machine guns, race cars, or football players.
Very helpfull.

By the way. The same thing happened to me. Had to loadan older save, and that save was 3 hours old -.-
Yeah, yeah. There will always be bugs.

Anyway, that garbage out of the way, all I can suggest is to load a previous save, if you have one, if you don't.......sorry D=. It hasn't happened to me yet, but things like this are why I always try to keep a manual save or two from an earlier point. Because, while autosave is great, it royally screws you over when a glitch decides to **** slap you at random! ^^;

seriously the whole point of his post is to get you annoyed enough to reply to it...so playing into his hands just makes you so much more of the fool...do the smart thing and ignore it like others have

I don't know if you necessarily have to keep him alive. It doesn't say that in the quest notes. But... I've noticed a few weird things like that in this game.
