For some reason I think I'm caught in some kind of glitch near the end of the game.  I just finished the landsmeet part and traveled to Redcliff village.  Before I went to the castle I killed all of the darkspawn in the village and then proceeded to the castle.  I killed the waves of darkspawn at the castle and then nothing happened.  From what I gather, I'm supposed to be able to go into the castle and talk to Arl Eamon.  However, I cannot.  I can wait around for an hour and no more darkspawn appear at the castle  The only thing on the screen is one guard that wasn't killed in the battle.  Am I missing something really simple?

Ah. I see your problem. The problem with the PS3 version is that the PS3 is a console system. Your PS3 is still trying to figure out what is going on, and why there aren't machine guns, race cars, or football players.

It's a bug, my girlfriend had the same thing happen to her. She had to reload an earlier save just before the landsmeet and do it all again.

Occasionally cut scenes won't trigger unless you're standing in the right spot... or unless you're not standing in the wrong spot. (There's a cutscene in the alienage that won't trigger if you're standing in the center of the room it happens in, for example.) You need to restart the scene and try again.

Can we get different PC and console forums, like with Mass Effect?

Pretty please?

I am sure Fernando that people are really impressed that the only thing the Bioware representative does is move the post instead of actually address the bug....

Sounds like I'm screwed. I ususally just rewrite my save file all of the time and both the manual and auto-save spots take place after the apparent "bug". I can sit at Castle Redcliff for an hour and no more darkspawn appear and I am not allowed in the castle to talk to Arl Eamon (I went back to Denerim hoping he would be there for some reason, but of course he wasn't). Is there anything I can do or do I just start from the beginning of the game again? I have a bad feeling I just wasted 42 hours of my life.

You should NEVER EVER do that. At least cycle 3-4 saves, just in case something happens (save corrupts) etc. A game of this complexity is always going to have some issues that might need a quick reload.

Besides, it wasn't wasted, you can do a different origin ;)

I had this issue and the autosave spot worked for me. Just reloaded it and fought again, the Ogre Alpha i needed hadn't spawned the previous time.

The thing I find funny about EJ42's post is the fact that there are far more CONSOLE based RPG's (Granted, mostly J-RPG) then there are PC based ones, so if anything, a PC should be confused more then a console.

Anyway, that garbage out of the way, all I can suggest is to load a previous save, if you have one, if you don't.......sorry D=. It hasn't happened to me yet, but things like this are why I always try to keep a manual save or two from an earlier point. Because, while autosave is great, it royally screws you over when a glitch decides to **** slap you at random! ^^;

I had a similar issue on my second playthrough when you fight the undead pouring out of the castle (the first time you are inRedcliffe, before you cure the Arl). I let Murdock die, and it would NOT trigger the cut scene. I had to go back to the auto-save and replay the segment. I made sure to heal the NPCs to keep the named ones alive and everything triggered fine that second time.

I don't know if you necessarily have to keep him alive. It doesn't say that in the quest notes. But... I've noticed a few weird things like that in this game.

I have the same issue!! Stuck at Redcliff, and nothing, I've left the area quested elsewhere, and came back a few times, still nothing. I've looted everything, searched every nook and cranny of both the castle and the village for a stuck monster, and still nothing, /sigh very frustrating, over 100hrs of playtime, and no option to reload to a previous save. (Yes i know, stupid, should have saved a few times, you think I would have learned my lesson from playing oblivion)
