Phantoms are still head-shottable.

That "talk to the hand", I didn't see until yesterday. Just got too close. Usually I pick her off a bit further out than where I was.

yeah, i mean primes and such.  thank GOD you can head shot phantoms.

you should really be able to grab them though, they must only weight 100 lbs

Phantoms are probably the easiest boss unit to deal with.

They should have an animation so that if you try and grab them, they counter and instakill you instead.

I am serious.

Or...
They grab you from behind cover. Then set the AI so that phantoms sit behind counters and farm players as they walk on by.

Stasis work like a charm. :)

You'd think so right.  Me playing as an AA  I threw up three, THREE, Stasis bubbles trying to subdue the cow and she walks right through them.  Then came the sword and me on the ground.

That was the third time today I was killed by a Phantom.  They were really working my nerves......<_<

How so? Must be lag. Stasis always works for me on phantom. After I bubbles them they are not going anywhere.

I don't know what the hell was going on. I caught her once...hit her with a BE using Warp....then kept my gun trained on her with Warp Ammo to make sure she doesn't raise her Barrier again...her health was going down...had to take cover from some Troopers...here she comes again Barrier all ther way up....and that when I tried to trap her again...and she walks right through all three.  My mouth hit the floor when I saw that. The plus side the bubble manage to trap the Trooper coming up behind her.  Too bad I didn't get a  chance to kill them....y'know...with her killing me and all......

and shoot balls of lightning from their arse!!

btw - phantoms become immune to stasis if hit too often with it (afaik after two times)

Buff teh Nemesis to even out. Phantoms and Engineers (turrets to be exact) now carry all the Cerberus faction. They are scrubs

But Phantom blocking 3 sticky grenades on her face with her barrier hand is beyond stupid.

Out of curiosity, can Phantom negate Reave? As a primary Asari Justicar player, I yet to see Reave fail to stick (not that it stops them unless they're in my Warp Sphere).

And in a more general Powers vs Phantom enquiry, I have yet to see Phantoms negate hitscan powers (single-target Stasis (unless used too much, of course), Reave, Overload, Energy Drain), and I want to clarify this detail.

You have answered your own question. All instant hit powers can't be blocked. But you kno, grenade is not a power, it's a GRENADE.

That's always people's answer for phantom's retarded cheating.  The problem with that is that it hinges on the belief that they can't just buff another Cerberus unit while making it so phantoms are not The Chosen One.  Like, you know, Atlases?  Those bigass things nobody fears?

Thing about Reave is that it just needs to stick once or twice to kill the Phantom -- the DoT if evolved right should kill her over time. Phantoms IIRC, like Banshees, become immune to a power after 2 attacks. Since Reave stick once and DoT, the Phantom drops from the first attack. (I've seen this happen on Bronze, but not Gold -- never took a Reave class into Gold.)

I have seen the Salarian ED seemingly not do any damage after a few hits on the Banshee though. Never gave any Phantoms a chance to grow immune to ED.

But to be honest, I've only heard hearsay on these forums about the "Absorb" 2 attacks thing. So not sure how true it is.

Yes phantom and banshee biotic barrier of ultimate safety are over powered because they block everything but gun bullets and they make those do reduced damage .....

phantoms are okay as long as it's one at a time, it's when there's four of them you really start to question the logic of them being so freaking over powered. Also, I think the spawn rate for them is too high. You kill them, and 4 more come dancing along to rape you. v.v The objective rounds are just nightmares because of that. I can see respawning the rabble the whole round, but bosses should not respawn at their current rate.

You're missing the point. Gold is supposed to be hard. Gold is supposed to respawn bosses. Gold is supposed to be MP's version of Insanity.

Never seen her block Ballistic Blades nor the Falcon Punch. Shotgun is also good satisfaction here. A well time proxymine will also send her flying.

Well, I've never seen her shrug off BB, but I've seen her MANY MANY times counter heavy melee's with that instant kill bull that she loves to do 9/10 at melee range. Hell, one time she countered my Asari Justicar's heavy melee, she literally teleported behind me(she was in front of me) and stabbed me in the back.

My question is why didn't Thane have one of these kill everything swords? I remember seeing his tactics for killing a Krogan in CQC, and it was elaborate. I still cannot suspend my disbelief at a 120lbs. 5 foot zilch chick with a single sword stab to the gut killing a half ton Krogan with Bloodrage and redundnt organs. It's bull, screw balance I want the kick butt Krogan's from ME1 and ME2 that could actually regen their health and had ARMOR.

Thane doesn't need a sword.

Also, I got my falcon punch countered by an instakill once. Too bad for the phantom my Exploding Blades countered her instakill.

They respawn on all 3 settings so your point seems a bit missing.  Also, I didn't say they should not respawn, just at a slower rate.  Instant respawn makes killing bosses pointless.

No. On Bronze, Phantoms and Atlas (along with Primes and Banshees) do not respawn on kills on certain waves. I'm not as certain on Silver but believe the Wave limit is higher, but will not respawn if killed off. Gold simply doesn't have any limits on those.

I've got to check if there is a difference in respawn rate on the different difficulties, but IIRC there is no difference there.

Betcha she can't block my Vorcha's Flamer+Reegar combo.

Or Ballistic Blades+Batarian Heavy Melee.

Oh yes, there are still a number of satisfying ways to kill a phantom. But I agree, they are pretty cheap. On the other hand, at least they obey basic game mechanics 9/10. *cough* Geth *cough*

yes.  i'm not complaining because they are too hard.  they should be hard.  i'm complaining because of the way that they're hard, which is not fun to me.

i think the physics for all units should be consistent and that difficulty should come from within that framework.

whoever said that a grabbed phantom should dodge and insta-kill you is actually poposing a solution (as long as you're ok with insta-kills, which i have mixed feelings about, especially in a laggy game) that makes a lot more sense then them just being as easy to grab as a brute.  seriously, how is it that a female quarian can grab a pyro, which has to weight like 1000lbs, but a krogan can't grab a phantom?

Grenade is a power.  Any skill points allocated to power damage bonus will increase the damage done by grenades.

The only time I ever saw that is when said Phantom has been catched by Stasis three times already. After that, they develop an immunity to the power.
