Chris Priestly why does Bioware want straight females to play as lesbians? Please answer, I know you are there!

Chris Priestly, I know you are there because you keep locking threads when people talk about Liara getting more attention than other characters, so please explain it to me so that I can try and understand, I really really really want to understand, I just dont.

You "kill" off 2 of the straight females Li's Jacob and Thane, Garrus can only be romanced in Me2 and he can be dead, Kaidan can be dead so that leaves us with potentially 0 MALE Li's. Liara IS a woman Chris, I dont want to play as a lesbian and I want to play the game more than once and as much as I LOVE Kaidan and have a HUGE pixelated crush on him, romancing the same person over and over can be very boring ind the end, so why for the love of God have you done it this way? Does your straight female fanbase mean that little to you?

You didnt even bother to make ONE fully fleshed out romance for straight female shep. Kaidan has almost nothing to say and is gone for the first part of the game and yes you put more effort in Garrus but still no one comes close enough to Liara's level, you could at least have given us a proper fleshed out Kaidan romance to make up for it!

I hope you will answer your fans, I know I am not the only one with this complaint and I am asking in a nice and non trolling way Image IPB

TO BE CLEAR: EVEN IF I DO MENTION LIARA BY NAME IT DOESNT MEAN I AM THRASHING HER CHARACTER IN ANY WAY! I LIKE HER! THIS IS NOT A "I HATE LIARA THREAD" JUST BECAUSE HER NAME IS MENTIONED!

And why on earth would you want to play ME3 more than once (aside from possibly getting the insanity 'chievement)? Do you... enjoy the feeling of slamming your head against a desk?

What happens if Kaidan died on Virmire? Oh, wait....

FemShep players should have got Vega.

Dont care who hates, its the truth! If Bioware had "killed" off Jack AND Miranda I can only imagine the outrage.....

Yes! I was totally expecting Vega to be romancable, he kept flirting without it leading anywhere, it didnt make any sence.

I think BioWare should add Joker and Vega as romance options to even it out a little. Yes, Garrus is awesome, but only romancing him gets old after a while.

Basically... if you don't force Garrus into a romance in ME2, or Kaidan dies = No straight romance options for FemShep in ME3. Pretty sloppy. Bioware should have made Vega a straight love interest available to FemShep.

Okay... So I am guessing you are a Garrusmancer... If they had "killed" off his romance would you be happy? And its not just that they are initiated in me2, its that there so few options compaired to male shep, they even gave Kaidan to male shep too, he gets everyone!

I know Chris is lurking somewhere... If he could just give an explanation like "geee we forgot there are more than 10 straight female players in the whole world" or "We ran out of money and time so we decided to focus on male and lesbian players", I would maybe understand...

Kaidan isn't even alive by default. You get to choose. This is pretty big deal to some. I wouldn't want to be forced into a corner like this with my ManShep.

But there isn't much they can do about it now. They kinda screwed over the straight female players.

Jacob was "killed off" instead of being "fixed" because he was unpopular, same thing happened with the Mako.

Thane, from what I've heard... writers forgot he was a LI for a FemShep until the last minute.

In short, game was rushed. Which is a big shame because overall, it's pretty fantastic.

I too wish there had been more male romance options for femShepards.

I would speculate that Bioware keeps trying to find the balance, so some games have too many female bi-romances, some games have no gays, and some games have zero straight options for female gamers. I just hope they do find the balance at some point - and that gamers won't have to wait years and years to see it happen.

If I want to play me3 with Ashley I only have Garrus and yes I know they cant fix it now but if they would at least give us James but that of course will never happen.

Why? It’s a perfectly valid point. Somewhat unsubtly delivered, sure, and contains an unnecessary dig at Liara, but still.

Well, straight female players got screwed, that's true. The only LI I like for FemShep is Thane and his romance in ME3 is just awful, not because he dies, but the few scenes they had together, even his death scene, are completely emotionless.

But it's not just the lack of straight romance, the options for FemShep also aren't the most interesting characters, Kaidan is whining and annoying, Jacob is probably the worst character in the series, Garrus is okay, but I think he's more of a friend than a love interest. Vega is still a mystery, he's constantly flirting with FemShep and it's too chicken to act on it, so why was all that somewaht sexy banter there if he's not a LI? Though I would never romance Vega, too dumb and arrogant for my taste. If only we had an Alistair in Mass Effect...

However, I wouldn't expect Priestly or any dev giving you an answer here, they only interact with the members here when those few suck up fans left thank BioWare for the great game or for the free content in MP and stuff like that. If you're not praising the game they won't get back to you no matter how good your questions are. Your only hope for Chris to make an appearance here is to lock this thread down or to warn people about ban (which will likely happen to me). An example of that is the Wii U topic, lots of people there asking interesting questions about the port and as usual we have the radio silence from the BW team, and yet when someone posted a topic about the Wii U in the Story and Campaign Discussion category Chris quickly showed up to lockdown and say that wasn't the place to post the info.

Totally agree with you OP! I was hoping James would get somewhere, but nah. I was hoping Joker would be a LI by the time of ME3, but he thinks it's weirder to date the Commander than it is to date an AI, so nah. I love Garrus, but he's a turian O_o and I think like Kaidan is more like a brother to my Shepard in the third game, so I don't wanna romance him :(

Oh, I read your OP. I gave you a stupid reply on purpose. Pointless topics deserve pointless replies, after all.

Mostly because Priestly isn't a dev, only a PR person (and thus directing this to him is meaningless), but also partly because it's a complaint that's so widely known it really didn't need to be brought up again.

I know Chris wont answer cause he cant give an answer that doesnt discriminate straight female fans. The truth is yes Bioware surely ran out of money and time but instead of "killing" both Jacob and Thane as Li's they could have taken just one of each gender to even it out but they didnt.

Since Chris is the one who keeps locking threads down and since he is a PR person he must know the reason for this. And this isnt a pointless topic to a lot of people, to you maybe but not to many others and the reason for it to be so widely known is because of the many threads being made about it, how else would you get the message out?

Edit: And I will keep bringing it up if or until they do something about it. Its my opinion, you can hate it all you want, you can think its stupid all you want, you wont hurt my feelings I think I can take it Image IPB
