I'm having a similar problem. I just finished the Alienage, though I haven't talked to Arl Eamon yet, and I'm getting a crash to desktop when I try to go back to my campsite.

I'm suddenly having this problem too. I don't recall having the problem in my prior run-throughs.

I went to the Alienage, back to Arl Eamon's, and now, everytime I try to re-enter the Alienage to complete the quest there, it crashes.

Update: loaded from a saved game, completed the main alienage quest, went back to Denerim just fine, spoke to Riordan and picked up the stuff from the vault, completed some odds and ends - everything fine. As soon as I tried to leave Denerim to go to camp - crash!

Same problem, first time in Eamon's Denerim estate and cannot go back to camp without game crashing to desktop. Loaded from autosave when just arriving and my quicksave after getting the quest to rescue the queen.

I am experiencing this too, effectively halting the game for me right at the end.

What a shame after 60 hours of invested play :(

Add me to the list!
It's not related to the camp yet, however I get the same Crash-Message, now right at the bossfight with the Demon in Castle Redcliff. Last time it happened at the fight with Uldred in the mages tower, but that was gone after one restart. - This time I had to restart the fight already 3 times and it won't stop crashing. Just updated nvidia drivers and directx, but thats not the clue.

I just read that Norton Internet Security could cause that c0000005-appcrash and I use Norton, so I'm trying to disable it for testing reasons.
Result: yay, it worked. I finally made it around the bossfight and played 2 hours without crash. But I disabled only SONAR and aren't really sure if it was responsible for the crashes yet. I still think it's a DA:O bug that is going to be fixed with a patch later.

I never experienced this problem in my first playthrough but I encountered it in the second. I ran into the CTD problem the second time around after completing the Alienage.

I never used the Extra Dog Slot mod the first time and used it throughout most of my second playthrough with no problems. After the CTD problem appeared, I used the dog whistle to dismiss the dog and was finally able to enter the party camp with no difficulties. I called the dog back at my first location after leaving the camp. For whatever reason, that mod didn't become a problem until after the Alienage. And for now at least, the workaround seems to be working.

Extra Dog Slot is the only mod I'm running.

Yes, I'm having this problem too. It sucks, really, because I was saving runes and money up to upgrade the forces you have at your command. Now I'll have to fight the bleedin' Archdemon with weak soldiers. Pity.

I had this problem, for anyone still having issues the solution that worked for me was to downgrade my catalyst drivers to 10.7. I had 10.8 and tried 10.9 but neither worked. Hope that helps.

I seem to have found a solution. Take your party to another area where you can switch out your party like the Arl of Eamon's castle. When you leave it and it gives you the option to select your party, select 3 completely different people and go to camp. You should get there w/o a crash. Save the game and then leave camp selecting your original party. You should be fine going forward. This worked for me. Good luck fellow adventurers.
