Oh, what a splendid, smashing and brilliant personal goal. NOT!
After getting roughly a dozen of the special Spectre packs since the arrival of the new DLC, I have yet to receive one of the new MP characters. Oh, I did get numerous player cards. Including characters that were ALREADY MAXED OUT! Who the **** do Bioware think they are kidding?
I will refrain from taking part in the challenge. EA/Bioware seem to be content to exclude those who had a dose of "bad luck" with their pack content...
You are excluding yourself. As stated before you don't need a new character yourself, just be in a team with one.

I agree. 1mil credits would be nice too
So, this weekend I have a 1 in 2 chance of a Valiant, but it's more likely I'll get the Eagle, or two more upgrades for the Crapsader (yay for me, I have the Crapsader 3 already).
What I would love is if the Commendation pack allowed us to PICK which weapon we get, and then a random N7 in the Victory pack.
Then I could get the Valiant at last (just before Bioware/EA nerf it).
Any math experts in the house? I think that technically you (we) don't have a 1 in 2 chance to get a valiant, but two 1 in 5 chances to get a valiant. Is that right? I'm not a math guy.
2 1 in 4 chances. I believe a 7 in 16 chance to get a valiant this weekend.
Oops. I imagined an N7 assault rifle in my head
What can you get: HH, VV, CC, EE, HV, HC, HE, VC, VE, CE = 10 possibilities.
Chance to get Valiant is 4/10.....40% ....and with one of them to get double.

Operation MASTIFF (June 8th-10th)
We are dropping the new reinforcements onto occupied worlds to supplement resistance movements. Retrieving data of how the Reapers conquered those worlds is of paramount importance.
Allied Goal: Complete 100K retrieval missions.
Personal Goal: Extraction on Silver difficulty with one squad member of the Rebellion Pack classes: Vorcha, Phoenix Project Defectors, or Quarian Male.
Special Circumstance: None.
Completion of the personal goal awards that player a Commendation Pack.
Completion of the allied goal awards all players a Victory Pack that has a guaranteed N7 weapon.
Operation Mastiff begins at 6pm PST Friday June 8 and ends at 4am PST Monday June 11
Packs will be distributed Tuesday Evening if the mission is successful.
I don't get any of the "clear" reqeuests. It's more than clear from the post.
Allied Goal: Complete 100K retrieval missions. --- any difficulty, any character, just doing the retrieval missions.
Personal Goal: Extraction on Silver difficulty with one squad member of the Rebellion Pack classes: Vorcha, ----
--- Extraction means any extraction (1,2,3 or all 4 players) on exactly Silver and only silver difficulty. Any team member can be rebellion character, but at least one has to be, so you can be lone survivor extracted as a Krogan and still everyone gets comm-pack.
N7 weapon in VP is N7 weapon in VP - nothing indicating change in CP, so CP still comes with N7 weapon too.

Nice, the community goal is arguably the harder one to reach anyway and IMO should have the same or better reward. It would be nice if actually participating in the event was required though. It doesn't seem right to be able to get a victory pack if you spend all weekend in the pub.
Good luck all! i'll be in the pub (I'm at a wedding this weekend). I hope you all do well so i can get my free N7 weapon
Just to balance it out I did promote loads of my characters on the last event

I do not believe your math is correct sir. Assuming the objectives are random, we have a one out of four chance every third, sixth, and tenth wave. Four random objectives at three chances a game gives you a lot less than 57.81% chance per game of getting a single objective. I do not believe you accounted for getting the same objective more than once in a game.
I did account for getting the objective more than once in a game, that's why I said 57.81% chance that you'll get the objective at least once during the match. There is a 25% chance of getting a given objective during a wave that has objectives, meaning a 75% chance that you won't get the retrieval objective in any given wave. The chance that you won't get the retrieval objective in the 3rd wave * the chance that you won't get the retrieval objective in the 6th wave * the chance that you won't get the retrieval objective in the 10th wave = the chance that you won't get the retrieval objective at all during the match. 0.75*0.75*0.75=0.421875, or 42.1875% chance that you won't get the retrieval objective at all. 100%-42.1875%= the chance that you will get the retrieval objective = 57.8125%. Here's a full breakdown of the rest of my calculations:
42.1875% chance that you'll get the retrieval objective only once during the match.
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective only during the 3rd wave = .25*.75*.75=.140625
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective only during the 6th wave = .75*.25*.75=.140625
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective only during the 10th wave = .75*.75*.25=.140625
.140625+.140625+.140625= .421875= 42.1875%
14.0625% chance that you'll get the retrieval objective twice during the match.
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective during the 3rd and 6th waves = .25*.25*.75=.046875
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective during the 3rd and 10th waves = .25*.75*.25=.046875
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective during the 6th and 10th waves = .75*.25*.25=.046875
.046875+.046875+.046875= .140625= 14.0625%
1.5625% chance that you'll get the retrieval objective three times during the match.
chance that you'll get the retrieval objective during the 3rd, 6th, AND 10th waves = .25*.25*.25=0.015625
42.1875% chance that you won't get the retrieval objective at all during the match.
100000 retrieval objectives = .421875*# total matches + 2*(.140625*# total matches) + 3*(.015625*# total matches)
100000 retrieval objectives = .421875*# total matches + 0.28125*# total matches + 0.046875*# total matches
100000 retrieval objectives = 0.75*# total matches
133333.3333333 repeating = # total matches required to get to 100000 retrieval objectives.

Should be a fun op, hopefully there are plenty of people playing with the new characters. I have yet to unlock a rebellion DLC one. The one time I need a character card and I can't seem to get one in any PSP (edit - gotten plenty of cards, just not any of the new characters. Please no more Batarian cards..)
Anyone know how I can avoid getting an Eagle V?!Would really like a different N7 this time..
I'll be doing it all weekend to help out the N00bs

What can you get: H H, V V, C C, E E, H V, H C, H E, V C, V E, C E = 10 possibilities.
Chance to get Valiant is 4/10.....40% ....and with one of them to get double.
How is it 4/10? Try 1/2. You have 2 chances to 1 of any given weapon out of 4 total possibilities. 2 *1/4 = 1/2
The possibility to get TWO of the same weapon? 1/4 *1/4 = 1/16
List of possibles, just to clairify:
1. Valiant
2. Eagle
3. Crusader
4. Hurricane
Then again in second pack:
1. Valiant
2. Eagle
3. Crusader
4. Hurricane
Oggy was close. but he forgot that those double sets of the same weapon? BOTH weapons count in the set. so it'd be 5/10 = 1/2

Assuming your team always completes the objective and that the entire wave is what counts (not the two packages you pick up), then we need to play a minimum of 200,000 games. Average game time hovers around 18 minutes, but let's round it off again for the sake of argument, and go with 20 minutes. If 10,000 people are playing, that's still works out to be about 67 hours actively playing per person. This is the actual time spent on a map playing, not in menus or loading. I haven't been able to find concrete numbers on how many people play on a regular basis, so I know the 67 hour figure is probably a significant exaggeration. But without real figures on the size of the player base, there's only so much math one can do before everything becomes guess work.
Needless to say, I'm not a fan of any "goal" with randomness tied into it. I've played several games since Rebellion where every objective was to eliminate 4 specific enemies. I've also had games where I personally ran 6 packages back to the LZ. I guess I'm just uneasy about the lack of assurance about this even being possible. Theoretically, every game the weekend could just get shafted on the random number generator and not see a single retrieval objective. Then again, the goal could be met within the first few hours of the op. Freaking a, man.

I think this is a brilliant idea but I know quite a few players who haven't had a single new character so that's gonna be a huge problem for them plus I have both vorcha characters and I don't like playing as anything other than a infiltrator it's not that I'm being awkward I just find that I am best with that class. So peeps who haven't had any new characters and guys like me are gonna have a nightmare getting the personal goal done.
Go to this thread: Rebellion Squadmates Roll Call (let's help those who are still without!) . Look for people with your same gaming system, find one with a similar time zone, and pop them a quick message to set a date and time to hook up in a private lobby.
Folks like your friends, who have not had good luck in the store getting Rebellion characters, is the reason why I started that thread. Everybody posting in there has Rebellion characters and has expressed their interest in helping non-Rebellion community members out. And I am sure they'd help out someone who isn't comfortable using a Rebellion character. After all, helping you and your friends get a commendation pack doesn't mean a pack gets taken away from somebody else, so there is absolutely NO REASON for someone to not be willing to help you guys.
All I have is an Ex-Cerbeus Adept. While I can play him, my comfort zone is my Turian Sentinel. But I plan on practicing a lot today and tomorrow with my one Rebellion character so that I can run him exclusively in random PUGs this weekend to help out those not using them.
Hope that helps!
