Yeah, like I said... I totally forgot about the other snipers, lol.  And as much as I agree that the viper needs a buff, it's too late.  I'll have to wait a whole nother week before I can add that in.  ^See thread title.  :pinched:

Claymore also has :
[Significantly] Better burst damage
Better range [with a choke + TC, it one shot kills half way across FB Giant]
IF you use reload cancelling, better sustained DPS

The range + burst damage, also make it a safer weapon.
You can engage from far away, and you can spend more time in cover without sacrificing DPS.

I think you meant to say shields, as Reeger has normal armor damage without mods, and great shield damage without mods.

Also, without armor mods, the GPR change would have no effect.
It would be doing [5 - 5] damage in either case.

No, I meant armor.  It would have 2 different damage modifiers, a bonus against shields and a penalty against armor.  Not being able to melt banshees/primes/atlases quite as easily is what I'm going for.  

As far as GPR, I didn't want to get into messing with fire rate too much, and increasing damage past a certain point might give too high a DPS for the weight.  ARs have mods and there is AP ammo for people who want to use it vs armor.  


Reegar + AP ammo currently melts banshees just as fast as Claymore + AP ammo --- and no one minds the claymore DPS.

And currently, Reegar Armor DPS is a hair lower than Hurricane Armor DPS (while Hurricane I weighs less than Reegar X) --- and no one minds Hurricane DPS.

IMHO it's the shield damage that sets the Reegar apart.

So I'm torn as to how to approach it...
You think keeping the massive shield DPS is ok, but the 'par' armor DPS should go down, right?
Why not keep the 'par' armor DPS, and just tone down the massive shield DPS?

That's pretty easy to answer. The claymore is an established weapon, and is therefore immune to complaints.

Claymore is heavy. Claymore actually punishes you if you miss - you lose one shot + reload, if you "miss" with Reegar, you just correct your aim, like 0.5 seconds of damage lost. Claymore requires reload canceling for best performance.

Drellguard is fun to play as is.  What would you change to balance it?


Fun, but frustrating when I'm not on the top of my game. Very little margin for error on that one.

Drell Vanguard:
-Biotic Charge cooldown decreased by 25%
-Base Barriers increased to 500
-Base encumbrance bonus increased by 5%
-Base weapon damage bonus increased by 5%

Pull
-Increased stagger animation duration of protected enemies by 50%

I think this would put him right up there with the DA as a versatile character who is slightly more user-friendly. Well, DA would still be better, but that's just Reave doing its job. :wizard:

A lot of really good ideas here. Especially like some of the solutions popping up regarding balancing TC, buffing some of the more woefully underpowered/overshadowed weapons and powers, and trying to put the Reegar and Krysae in the right context.
I get the impression that a good chunk of BioWare's resources must be dedicated to other projects like the Extended Cut. They're doing a good job with these cool DLC releases, but not so much with addressing many of the core aspects of multiplayer-- netcoding, bugs, balance.
I'm becoming increasingly cynical regarding weapon balance with this new DLC. "Free" content is paid for by microtransactions. Releasing pointedly overpowered weapons seems like a great way to drive up sales.

Geth Faction:
-All geth get really cute bunny ears. Actually, geth changed into adorable bunnies.

This should fix the balance for the krysae. No one will want to blow up and disintegrate a crowd of adorable bunnies.

This will also quiet people who think GI is too overpowered. Because who is going to be mad about a bunny with a Widow X?

I'd also add that it might be difficult to balance classes or weapons you don't personally play as.  For instance, I have no idea what (if anything) should be changed about a class like the drellguard since I never play it.  The same with singularity and shockwave.  And I don't use the QE either.  Incinerate and cryo only got mentioned because I have experience with HIs and the HE/SE.  

Thinking about it, Sentry Turret probably needs a buff too... =]

Ah, I just want more time to use Prox + Marksman,  I didn't measure the time if it's enough to do a Marksman run with the duration of the mine.

But I agree with you about Cryo.

But I agree with you about Cryo.


Yet Proxy still only takes away half health from mooks on silver. Really, all I think proxy needs is increased proximity.
