I admit it.
If Bioware announced one thing about DA3 that would make you buy it no matter what (if you aren't going to already), what would it be?

It just occurred to me that not only could Loghain techinically still be living, but he could, in fact, be involved in some kind of illicit relationship with the Warden that betrayed Alistair!
The idea of him being allowed to walk Thedas is just...
sorry, Begemotka!
Sparing Loghain is not betraying Alistair. No lover or friend of mine will get me to kill just so they won't leave me.
Illicit affair? My Canon Warden fell in love with the man (See her tale in my sig), nothing illicit there.
How is Thedas better off without one of its greatest, most fascinating heroes?
Never mind that I support his decision at Ostagar, do not see him as a villain and my Warden having no animosity towards him. She leapt at the chance to recruit him and hasn't regretted it.
As for Cailan, his death was his own doing. I despise that incompetent brat, sorry.
And if he does kill the Archdemon.... one line, a single line still has me teary eyed.... "Please, I have done....so much wrong. Allow me to do one last thing right."
Ah well, before the "Loghain hate versus Loghain love" debate reopens completely....*Shuts up*

I always enjoy killing the oathbreaker, only things that would make it better is if you could tell him he should have stayed on the farm, and found out why him and his toady rebelled.
.
Wow....that's..... Had he done that, Ferelden wouldn't exist (It would be an Orlesian vassal) and there would be no DAO.
Found out why he and his toady (Are you calling Maric a toady? WHAT?) rebelled? He knew why. He lived it. And what oath did he break?

The death of all meaningless fetch quests / side quests would certainly help. I'd love for them to focus on the main story and the different outcomes of our choices (key-word: different. Alpha Protocol / The Witcher different).

But I might be persuaded to buy two copies if BioWare suddenly decided that there will be no focus on the Grey Wardens any more.

The only person or thing DA:O showed Logaine being loyal to was himself. He was not loyal to his friend,King Maric he killed his son.He was not loyal to his King, said hey got your back and then left him and the rest of the army to die.Killing any survivors, laying the blame on others. He was not loyal to his country selling elves into slavery.Tower of mages trouble with the blood mages was his doing.Bet If we dug deep enough we could lay the dwarf troubles at his feet also.He would evenhave killed his daughter for political points. He needed killing.

Howe joined up with Loghain because Howe wanted more power and influence, and Loghain was willing to give it to him if he allied with him.
Loghain did what he did because he was a paranoid xenophobe who firmly believed that the humans of Ferelden had to stand on their own without the help of outsiders or else his last war with the Orlesians would have been for nothing.

Yes, Loghain lovers, go back to your hole....err thread. The only way Loghain can live in most peoples' versions, would be to look something like Hawke's mom, when she had her head sewn onto another body.

the mages in origins state that the fade is also the realm of the dead and we've seen quite a few spirits/ghost related quests, returning to denerim to see loghain's ghost would be a hoot:whistle:

I'll just imagine the events which I find more important should be canonised.

Nobody wants the bloke universally canonized among the living,no worries.
Anyway,we should probably not turn this into another of those "Who`s bad, lalala" threads.
I apologize for my contribution to derailing the topic.

- The amount of Talents/Spells will be greater than/equal to Dragon Age:Origins.
- The Skill System from DA:O will be revamped, dropping wasteful skills like tactics so that you get new slots with each level up like in DA2.
- Environments will be unique like in Dragon Age Origins. Even if they are based off of a similar map, they will be themed enough so that you cannot tell that they are (I am sure that there were a few maps that shared a similar layout but were so different in the new locations that unless you looked REALLY hard you couldn't tell and it felt like a new place).
- All of your decisions will matter like in DA:O where each decision is shown in a summary or, since we're deeper in this current generation, cutscenes explaining your overall choices and how it affects the world. DA:O outlined every choice you made with each group of people: the dwarves, the dalish, the city elves, the nobles, the mages.
- Characters who you romance that might affect the story in a huge way, like with a ceratin LI in DA2, will change so that they do not do anything drastic..well, I can't explain this any further without major spoilers but people who beat DA2 will know what I'm talking about.

The first bolded one is pretty likely and the last one is confirmed. So congratulations - it looks like you're buying DAIII.
They'd be kind of stupid not to bring Flemeth back, but y'know. Anything is possible, I guess. I'm not really placing bets yet. As for the multiple-nations thing, I missed that confirmation! Thanks for letting me know!
Looks like we'll be hitting parts of Ferelden, Orlais, the Free Marches, Nevarra, and the southern parts of Antiva and the Tevinter Imperium. Not sure yet about Rivain, but still plenty to keep us busy!
I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but when they said that, I'm not sure they meant we'd actually be able to traverse multiple nations in one game. I took to either mean: That's the area of land they'd still like us to explore. OR: We want to make DAIII's seem this size i.e, we want you to make the area's you can explore much larger than in DA:O or DAII.

If I weren't, as long as it's a single-player game, hearing David say the magic words would make me buy it no matter what: "There will be pigeons."
Since I'm already going to be buying it, I'll just say that there damn well better be, sir. :-)

I wish I could say that. The only way I will actually preorder like I did with DA2 is if the gameplay I see and the new features/concepts/systems I see blow me away.Beck 85 wrote...
All I need is a release date. Sure there are some things I would like to see, but realistically I'm going to preorder no matter what.
I've got more hope after hearing each companion will still have their signature look but you will be able to customize them again AND we will have a more open world Dragon Age similar to DA:O. I can't take another Kirkwall-sized Dragon Age environment. I'm crossing my fingers.
