WHAT THE HAIL.
WHAT are their actual names? I demand you tell me!
In fact, are any of the companions' names, their actual names? Is "Varric" really his name? Is the "Merrill" really "Merrill" or is she just a Pokemon fan?

Sorry to disappoint, internet person, but YOU're barking up the wrong tree
*Besides, if anyone gave that information, would that not be a spoiler, in a designated no spoilers forum?

No. The reasons? The player never gets to find out that Anders isn't his real name (Gaider is the one who let players know, and he has never even appeared in a DA game). And we don't even know why Isabela isn't her real name.Ophir147 wrote...

We do not know what either of their real names are. So how can revealing them be a spoiler?

So according to YOU, "Isabela" and "Anders" are nicknames, or at least not said characters' birth names.

--- SPOILER for Fenris ---
Actually, I hadn't heard that Anders wasn't his real name. I wasn't surprised to learn that of Isabela, since I'd imagine she would want to distance herself from her past.
Apparently Anders's family is from the Anderfels, so that explains that. I suppose that was probably odd for the Ferelden circle, so I'm not surprised the name stuck. Actually, being a mage is so much a part of who Anders is that he might not even care to use his birth name again, since it would be a relic of a "time before magehood," and we also don't know how his relationship with his family was. They were either happy to be rid of the little mage monster or there was much crying, rending of garments, and threats by templars when they arrived. Judging by some words of his in the clinic, I'll be it's the latter, although neither memory is good.
We also know that Fenris isn't his real name, it's Leto. I see no reason to doubt anyone else's name though.

I turn to Schrodinger and his good old cat for the answer to that question:
If we have no way of telling if the spoilers are legit, then it is both a "spoiler" and "not a spoiler" at the same time
We're treading dangerous quantum mechanical ground here people

Very dangerous. It can't be either a spoiler, nor not a spoiler, since there hasn't been anything identified as an answer to the question: what are Anders' and Isabela's birth names?Ophir147 wrote...

I don't know if you can apply Shrodinger's Cat to something that does not exist in reality, but in theory - since you're determining the fate of something that which doesn't yet exist. And the thought of trying to comprehend such, makes everything swirl around in my head, until I end up the guy who looks at the reailty of it all, and...
