It used to be godly, but then they nerfed it. It is still good with ammo powers.

Don't really care for it. Maybe if they undid the changes to some extent I'd use it a bit more. All these "perks" it has such as instant ammo application and staggers are nice, but you don't need them. I can do better with any other weapon unless im solely trying to support teammates. Too slow for my liking and I feel gimped because of the damage. Of course, I'd take it over the striker, however.

Good cc gun, also great for dealing with hunters and phantoms on classes with no stasis/overload/tac cloak.
Terrible vs reapers.

I'll admit that there are better guns for outputting dps, but sometimes you want the utility that the Falcon provides.
On my Quarian Engineer, I use the Falcon to dictate the flow of battle around me. Between my turret, cryoblast, and the Falcon I can lock down several enemies on my own. It has the added bonus of letting me deal with phantoms which were boogymen for my engineer.

Falcon sucks if you just want to kill something. Krysae or Scorpian is better
However the faclon is the best Crowd Controller weapon in the game.
it stuns anything but Primes/Atlases/Banshees/Brutes/Ravagers 100% of the time and will very often stunn those 5 too.
"but wait the Krysae/striker/scorpian can do that!"
true but nowhere near as reliably and while wasting ammo if your goal is CrowdControl the Falcons Slow Fire-rate mean it fires only 2 times in between each stun animation meaning everyother shot will stun them. it also has a very good Capacity, wider AOE, Detection Airbursting and ability to stun even around walls.
all its traits currently make a weapon thats designed to stun enemys untill they die rather than trying to cluster bomb them while they rush you.
a weapon that can stunlock 4 Phantoms is by no means a weak weapon.

It needs an ammo equipment upgrade like cryo, inferno or warp to be useful - also use it with Turian Soldier

It works nicely when you play to its strengths.
My no AR HSoldier can stand out of cover on gold spamming CS and tech bursts with it. Have yet not to finish first.
My SE uses it with area incinerate to nuke things bunched up on decoy
My KS uses it to stun Phantoms for a B**** Slap

I use Falcon extensively.
Without ammo, it's already quite good. AOE stagger, good RoF (you want to see what staggers before firing again, so high RoF is not necessarily appropriate), decent ammo load on X. Get an ammo mod to expand the clip size and you're good.
It's not as flashy as Striker or Krysae, but it is tons more flexible. Number 1: Indirect fire. Number 2: Grenade Bounce. The two, along with the AOE, allow for very tactical usage of environment, including bank shots into non-visible space, reverse shots to kick mobs out of cover (and stagger them), ceiling. wall bounces to get behind Cerberus Guardian Shields. A lot of flexibility.
In close it's not so good, but a ground hit with a grenade can trigger stagger and give you enough time to get some distance.
The key thing is that you are not out with the Falcon to get kills. You are there to stagger the enemy, keep them busy while the heavy hitters whittle down the enemy swarm, and to essentially buy time. The game is nice enough that since you are spreading the damage love out over a few enemies, you tend to get a decent score to show your contributions.
With ammo, the Falcon gets a major boost. Cryo is my default if playing Soldier; it compliments the crowd control specialty with a movement stop. This staggers the entire enemy component out, making it easier for your team to quickly slaughter the foes. Works particularly good with Concussive Shot.
Disruptor is great when you are a Tech class. Not only does Disruptor adds a better stagger effect, it also sets up Tech Burst if you are set for it. And it's always useful against shields, so it's a good benefit.
Incinerate is just for fun to watch mooks trash about.
I'm not a big fan of AP or Warp ammo on the Falcon, not too sure if Warp will help set up Bioplosions.
All in all, the Falcon represents the most tactically flexible weapon in the game; the other being the Scorpion. If you are looking for a big damage gun, this isn't it. If you are interested in juggling enemies around, this will go a long way.
