Even Mage Pride would've worked. I mean, you can't tell me this song playing in the background during the credits would not have been epic.

Pretty sure the credits did play that. Or at least something similar.

It did.  It played Fenris's Theme.  What I mean is I want to hear the full version, not the stripped down one.  I'm talking about with all the instruments and the vocals like in the links I posted.

A-ha - so you wanted medieval, and you seem to like Lisa Gerrard....so here you go,one of the best bands in the universe. IMHO anyway:O)

Dead Can Dance - Saltarello

DCD is pretty awesome. I saw a few links for them in one of my favorite Charon songs -- truthfully, all Charon songs are my favorites Image IPB.

The song was called Death Can Dance, so it's understandable why youtube would show videos for DCD there.

Ehhehe, youtube tends to do that...making funny connections.  Needless to say,I had my share of surprises....not always pleasant ones

I think the closing song should be day one DLC for about 400 Microsoft points.

Self-entitled? Sure.Everybody is entitled to themselves.
Seriously, can we keep this topic being about songs you would actually like to hear, and not enter BW / each other bashing mode?

I don't really have a song preference, but is it too much to ask for them to put the voice cast credits FIRST in the list? It's not that I don't think the Key Grip or Second Assistant Cutscene Animation Specialist probably do more work and deserve credit, it's just that I have no freakin clue what they do so sadly their credit is meaningless to me, whereas when it's bugging the freak out of me that I think I recognize X voice, I don't wanna wait through 3 minutes of credits only to find out that, well, maybe it was the guy who's listed here under "Various".

And also I'd like to have something like the great old TIAX RULES bit. :D

I don't really mind what they use for the end credits song, so long as they don't give us an opening song like the Dragon's Dogma's one. Catchy as it is, it totally threw me off and seemed really out of place, like it belonged in the opening credits of the 90's Power Rangers series. It would have worked better in the end credits.

It would be awesome to have an original song put for up for it. The credit song should reflect upon everything we've just done, a lot like this:

The Rains of Castamere.

I really liked both ending themes, with "This Is War" being second only to the song that played during ME1's credits. And it fit my first Warden so well.

I don't have any suggestions besides "something epic", but it's interesting to see others' recommendations. I had no idea there was a group named Charon. I have a Hawke named Charon! xD

Can't choose something for something I know nothing about story wise. But DA2 end theme was sort of thing that I liked, the lyrics matched the plot/characters of the game and using vocal (non ethereal or pure instrumental) is fine by me.

The credits song should fit DA3 as a game. And since the game don't excist yet, I can't pick a song that I think would fit.
But if you asked me what song I think would fit the credits in DA2 I would say this:www.youtube.com/watch

I gotta thank everybody in this thread, seriously. This is my favorite music thread on here in months, and I found two new bands. :-) Special thanks to brushyourteeth for that first Gungor song. Never heard of 'em and that was really great light alt rock. Love the Game of Thrones song also, but I watch the show. ;) Always love it when they (they in general, not just GoT) do something original and powerful like that.

back on topic
Yeah, I loved "This Is War" in the first one, still get pretty much the same feeling every time I hear that song that I did when I finished that first game years ago. Then we got Florence + The Machine for the second game, and at least in my part of the world, that was the first I'd ever heard of 'em, and I loved the song. She's the best singer and that's as great a band as there's goin' right now imo, so I count that a blessing. The DA team keeps doing what they've been doing and they can do no wrong. The music for both games is about as great as music's ever been in a game (along with most of ME1, great roll they're on). So I hope they just keep it up.

Two requirements though:
A song. Not just an instrumental or a background piece like ME2&3. :( No shoegaze, meandering mood pieces, not for the end song.
Something keeping with the theme of the series and the game, however it goes. Personally, the alt rock from the first two is basically my sweet spot, so I'll be perfectly happy if it continues in that vein.

And a request:
I love it when there's more than one song break in a game, like in Final Fantasy 8 with the space scene, or Red Dead Redemption at the end of each act, even Leliana's song during DA:O, loved that. If the production allows for that, I'd be thrilled. I like the music to mix it up a little bit in the course of a movie or game according to what's going on, and I think the music so far perfectly suits the franchise, including the alt rock.

It all depends on the quality of the game.

If it is a great game, I want the song to be a foreboding tune, with a dark melody, but not overpowering or loud.

If the game is horrible, I want a meteor to hit Thedas while "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck" plays.

Chantar Mer - Angels of Venice

Or if we're taking a few liberties, I'd elect this song for a potential candidate:

Down the Burning Ropes - James Vincent McMorrow

Or

Firelands - Tracey Hewat

Something instrumental and written exclusively for the game.
I'm not really a fan of licensed soundtracks, although Florence and the Machine was certainly preferable to 30 Seconds of Crap.

When I finished DAII, however, my game bugged out on me and all I got for the credits was ambient sound.
It was actually quite impactful in its austerity. Oftentimes less is more.

Something like the first song that plays in the credits of Origins/Awakening preferably. Not the 30 seconds one, the one with the female singer.

And I agree something written especially for the game, although having said that the Florence and the Machine song did fit quite nicely for DA2.
