I've noticed a fair amount of Game of Thrones love in this thread and (naturally) I'll add to that a bit/ I think the second season of GoT in general is a good example of how to do credits music well. Every episode has it's theme, and that theme fits perfectly with what went before, particularly the closing scenes.

So yes, as much as I loved the Florence and the Machine in DA2 I tend to agree that a special theme composed for the game is the best call, particularly one that emphasises and evokes the game's ending in some way.

I love it when the credits song snaps me out of the game/movie a little bit - by for example having a completely different, modern style, when talking about DA specifically - while still carrying some its themes or motifs, even small ones, in let's say the lyrics. That way, I know it was just a game and just a fantasy, but I can take what's important for me in it back with me to real life. If that makes any sense.

I wish I had some suggestions, I guess I would need to know what DA3 is about first. But yes I found both DAO and DA2 pretty alright in this regard.
