THE COOLDOWN DOESN;T START TILL AFTER THE DAMAGE BONUS IS OVER.

An you only turn "invisible" on you and your teams screens...all enemies can still see you. Period.

AR and Marksman? lasts longer to balance out the bonus. 70% of EVERY shot over 6+ seconds?!? thats a hell of a lot more than 90% for one or two shots.

like you can always stick your head out of cover and shoot things for the entire 6-7 secs duration...

With the instant full shields and full clip? yes, and i always do. Give me my Revenaunt and i'll mow mobs down like i'm a lawn mower and they're the grass.
i.e. Mob Lawn Mower

The cooldown starts as soon as cloak is deactivated. But gives you 1.5s 90% bonus damage so you don't feel sad.

If you cloak and move enemies lose track of you. Period.

AR last longer, but you can't use power and recharge times only starts after the duration is over. Lets say you are carrying a Claymore X with Human Soldier speced for weapon damage. AR is only usable every 10 seconds.

Meanwhile in OP-land: Cloak is a spamable power and does more weapon damage, more power damage, more melee damage. Only thing it does not is increase your shields and DR. But enemies melee you in melee range, so its balanced...

Unreal.

I'm going to sleep.

You cloak and they lose you? ARE YOU KIDDING?!? when was the last time you USED and infil? i cloaked 40 minutes ago and the trooper not only STARED shooting at me whn i came around a corner, but he started FOLLOWING me.

And the last thing? its not about them meleeing you. its them SEEING you and being ABLE to melee you when they shouldn't be able to SEE you. You can't melee a cloaked hunter can you? No.

Increase fire rate damage AND accuracy, Phaeston is out of ammo before they turn around. (or before their body hits the ground)

The reason its a problem now is because class diversity has taken a complete nosedive in random gold pugs. The flood of infiltrators cause problems for other classes mainly through tactical cloak's dump aggro mechanic. It is a noticeably different experience playing non infiltrator classes in a gold pug compared to 2 months ago.

(and to anyone wondering Inf is one of my most played classes, yet Im still able to admit that a small nerf is totally called for)

- who cares about crowd control?

Anyone who knows how to play the game.
if you can't kill or contain the mobs...you're getting overrun...and killed.

crowd control is overrated (this is not an mmo), besides with an inf you can single handedly (well, after the HS nerf its a bit more difficult if not using Krysae) prevent being overrun, you cant do that with any other class just by yourself (you either have to have someone there with you to detonate your powers or someone to kill bosses for you so you can focus on mobs or the other way around)

Wha? What planet are YOU playing an infil on? they CANNOT kill mass mobs AND take out bosses at the same time (excluding with the OP Krysae)
Infils take out ONE target at a time unles their heads are lined up in a row

EDIT: Do you even understand what crowd control MEANS?
It MEANS killing, trapping, and/or redirecting large groups of enemies at once.

since when CC = killing? have you ever played any MMO? CC is disabling (as you said trapping or redirecting) and you dont need it (though its much easier with it), you dont need singularity, you dont need bubbles, you dont need nets, you dont need decoys, etc, ever

and you absolutely can kill mass mobs and take out bosses (like I said, this part is a bit trickier now), just use Valiant on every Inf or Black Widow on Geth Inf and while you cant do it every time, for example against jumping banshees and charging brutes, you can still perform at those situations better than everyone else

I challenge you to kill a swarm of Phantoms on gold with a Black Widow GI specced for sniper rifle damage, without resorting to melee, or Proximity Mine (because they are both spammable, stagger, and could be considered CC) and without dying. Better yet, solo a wave 10 upload objective with a sniper GI vs Cerberus or Geth without using abilities that stagger, or halt the enemies advance (I.E. only use your gun) and then tell me how that works out for you.

CC is essential in this game. Being able to contain and stagger annoying enemies is the difference between trying to kite multiple enemies across the map using hit and run tactics for 5 minutes, and finishing a gold run without having to use all 5 medigels, and depending on your team to kill said enemies.

I use Concussion shot during AR everytime, it's great for reload cancelling while still in AR, (I'm on the 360 so no I can't medi-gel cancel) I don't need the 100% percent shield boost. I'm guessing you take that evolution everytime or it was just an oversight of yours. And you can always use frag granades btw.

Though I don't get why this is a recent thing that everyone and their mother is calling for an Infiltrator nerf, since Tactical Cloak has been around in its' current version since launch(Other than a few bugs showing up which hurts the ability).

People have talked about it being overpowerd many times sinvce the beta.  But BW never nerfed it so I think most people just shrugged and accepted it was never going to be nerfed even though it needed it.  Then the Krysae came out and everything went crazy.  TC damage on single targets might be a bit OPed but when it starts applying to a bazooka things just get silly.

yeah, if Primes/Ravagers/Nemesis/Rocket Troopers arent shooting at you, then you can enjoy the entire marksman's duration, its not like you can just "vanish", dodge some attacks with a jump or drain their shields with ED, still remain invis and almost immediately shoot back from different cover :)

also gn to you aswell

My human soldier sits at a 42% cooldown bonus, and the recharge time on AR is only 3.5 seconds.

So is AR OP because it gives me damage reduction, instantly recharges my shields, reloads my gun, boosts my weapon damage, and can be spammed?

brb, going to do an all human soldier Krysae X speed run on firebase glacier

Agreed. That is why Bioware stated that they are looking into changing the Krysae. No word on TC, and I don't expect one anytime soon.

Cloak's dmg bonus lasts for roughly 2 secs after cloak is broken.  Which means you can shoot, spam a power, and shoot again.  3 attacks with incredibly high dmg bonuses.  As soon as you reload cloak is ready to be used again.

You can't think of the cloak's dump aggro purely from your own point of view.  Enemies will still attack you while cloaked at times so its not an invicibility button.  The problem is that enemies don't prioritize killing you over other classes without tactical cloak.

TACTICAL CLOAK DOES NOT MAKE ENEMIES STOP SHOOTING AT YOU!! EVER! They still shoot, they even follow you. there is no *poof* and disappear. its "why'd he get all shinny? oh well, KILL HIM!"

Yet another example of their utterly clueless approach to game balance.  Nerf a weapon that is only slighly overpowered on other classes while being massively overpowered on one, making it worthless on other classes and slightly overpowered on just one instead.  Brilliant.

Really I am so tired of weapon balance being so tied up in the power level of one class.  It's bull**** to be honest.

Now you choose an ability and I'll tell you how it works.

Wrong on all counts but one. cloak =/= disappear.

The bonus ENDS as soon as cloak is broken. You shoot and its gone. you can MAYBE squeeze off a second shot if you use a Valiant, or throw a power then shoot IMMEDIATELY and i mean without rescoping.

Otherwise, you wait the next 3 seconds for another temp boost.

With AR, you wait 6 seconds for a 6 second boost...hmm...sounds good. TC? wait 3 seconds for a single shot boost (MAYBE a second shot)

You just don;t understand Infiltrators. they are MADE to have a weapon damage boost. THAT IS ALL THEY HAVE.
That is what they are MADE to be. trying to balance them to everything else? that'd be like picking the tallest guy for your team in basketball...then telling him to play on his knees cuz everyone else is shorter...

Untrue. The bonus sticks around for a few seconds after cloak is broken.

Infiltrators that use the N7 Hurricane can do hilarious amounts of damage, especially if they debuffed the enemy with a proximity mine

But then again, so can Soldiers, but nobody uses a Soldier because I guess they're just not as trendy.
