Well I did read the rants but did not want to bash on anyone. :\\ I could partake in the silly argument but for the sake of civility I just want to talk about sabers. Also, I like the underdog on things. In this case, assault riffles

LOL. it's making me laugh too...people usually hop in on everything. do they really think a thread about the saber is that popular? I wish I could talk about my saber but that ship has sailed.

The Saber I enjoy it. Especially with a scope, It's just like a jurry rigged Black Widow then, only I get 8-14 shots instead of just 3. And it 1-2 shots things anyways, so the BW's extra power doesn't really have any advantage over the Saber.

It's fantastic, and when I found it it campaign I fell in love...Been using it with adrenaline rush, and Im dying to try it out with marksman tomorrow, but im not sure if RoF or accuracy would be better...

I use the Saber IV on my Turian Soldier. It has the extended barrel and AP mods. I would like it better if it had a little more power though.

I found ther RoF to be better, the really tight cross hairs can actually make you miss alot like with the Crusader... Oh Crusader IV.... Buuut I digress. It's wicked fast with Marksman, now if only we could get a Geth Soldier with Hunter mode and Marksman. *Drolls*

It's personal preference.

I never really understood the use of the ext barrels on certain guns, sometimes the increased damage is so small on the bar that i doubt its even noticable in the game...only guns with high damage in the first place benefit, which i found counter productive. Which is why i basically stopped using it all together.

You know, suprisingly enough, for being the water gun everyone says it is, it actually does kinda well on gold with  GI. I usually take extra ammo and armor piercing with an assault rifle amp of some kind. It sucks against the Primes, but goes through the lessers pretty fine.

If i'ma go Geth, I usually go geth Plasma SMG. That gun was everything I wanted and more...

The saber's flavor text should be, "Outclassed by the paladin and rivaled by the carnifex."

It's not a BAD gun, persay. There are just comparable guns that function better and weigh less.

To be accurate, Violet did come into the thread, make no contribution about the Saber, and state that 'The Claymore is better'

Not that he prefered it, or it suited him better, as an absoloute.

Which it probably is, but that isnt really the point. Pretty sure the point of this topic was to discuss the Saber, and share experiences and tips on its use and suitable builds.

Its essentially the equivilent of someone making a topic about how much they enjoy their xbox, and them someone coming into the topic and stating playstation is better. It doesnt add much, and just starts pointless bull****. Later claming 'It my opinion" is awful too. People and their opinion shields.

For reference, I dont even like Sdrol and Im forced to concede he wasnt the initial instigator. He has contributed greatly to the continuing **** back and forth though.

High damage, plenty of shots, and the coolest sound and nickname ever.

I have saber I, and for me this gun is just massive fail.

Low damage, probably even on saber X with rail ramp, ammo, and maxed AR it is still impossible to one bodyshoot enemies (and 2 body shot those with shields). shooting 4 times to kill stupid centurion is just idiotic. gun which need headshoot all the time to do anything just plain sucks.

very low dps, killing boss units with this gun is pointless. high weight. high recoil, low acc. when using max RoF, for me this gun is just useless.

I love how the OP blew his top because people came into "HIS" thread and said something in opposition to HIS viewpoint.  Kind of like he did in that "the eagle still sucks" thread.  Even though he doesn't have an eagle and doesn't know how it performs.

I think it is one of the most underappreciated guns out there. If you can make every shot count, it is a goldlike weapon. In the hands of a soldier or sentinel it rocks. I have the Sabre III, and it only gets better - significantly better - with each upgrade, so cherish you'rs and let the haters hate all they want.

Extended Barrel and Scope, and you basicly have an 8-round sniper rifle.

Saber is great for builds with no cooldowns that carry two weapons. I run Saber+Claymore on my Krogan Soldier 6/0/6/6/6 and Saber+Talon on my Vorcha Sentinel, also 6/0/6/6/6. I used to like the Saber on my Justicar too, but find the Harrier to be more effective on that build.
