I just remembered another one (sorry it's been a while since my last playthrough). I did not do the Awakening DLC, so I was really confused when some Batarian accused me of killing his people on the Citadel. Later I thought maybe that Shep doing Awakening was considered cannon, but then found out this wasn't the case. Some commandos apparently did that mission, not me.

I'm glad this is being looked at. Ok, here' are some things off the top of my head:

Ken and Gabby don't talk at all. (Yes, Kaidan is alive. I don't like Ashley, sorry.) I really love these two, so I hope this can get fixed.

Glitching side quests. Random side quests refuse to finish. For instance, in my first play through, when I was taking pics in the refugee camp for the documentary, it would not close out. On my 2nd play through, a different side quest refused to complete-- the one where I try to rescue the Shadow Broker's men (mission you get from Barla Von).

No matter what decision I choose when talking to the 2 C-Sec officers about whether or not to let the small crimes go so that they can tackle the bigger crimes or not (I believe this is in the 2nd Act), the game always says I focus on cleaning up the small and big crimes.

Shep's eyes go all weird when talking to Liara about Glyph in their first conversation on the Normandy in Liara's quarters. It's really very distracting. Also, it does it with Hackett during certain conversations as well.

Some of my Shepards' faces still don't import correctly. While some just require 1 or 2 fixes to get the situation right (like adjusting the eyebrow color to what it should be, etc. ), others look nothing like the import at all. (I have 12 Sheps on 3 different xbox profiles--only 1 of which can go online. Some have started from ME1 and others from ME2.)

Occasional dialogue gets cut off in mid-sentence with random characters. (Sorry I can't be more specific here. Others have probably commented on it though.)

Below are some that might be bugs though I'm not really sure.
Thane is still breathing after he dies in the hospital bed. It's kind of creepy. :?

The music on the start menu is way quiet. I have to turn my volume up to almost max to hear it. I know it's supposed to fade in, but this is a bit much. :D

And the journal doesn't update. Is this a bug or is that intentional? :( I'm hoping it's a bug.

Thanks for looking into this! I'll post more if I remember any other issues.

Not a bug, but if I might request one of the "I was born in London" lines removed as they become super awkward the second time around. Perhaps removing the first time Anderson says it so that when he states so eloquently that he was born in London whilst you're in London would have slightly more impact.

That's from Bringing Down the Sky. A DLC from ME1. I believe that happens regardless.

Dummied out lines of Ashley: files do exist, but don't get triggered
Related to Gabby/Kenneth dialogue bug.
I believe Ashley's lines got bugged too and are never played. Also it appears as if some of Liara's lines are bugged too: in the middle portion of the game, post Udina-Coup and before doing any of the Quarian missions, she rarely talks to Shepard. And she does not interact with the crew.
There's at least one dialogue with Tali and Ashley included that does not play - it's dealing with Virmire.
Also Ashley does not visit Shepard in his cabin except for the romance scene. It is not hinted at any given point she and Shepard are together. Only Javik mentions it at a point.

This one reminds me that after your first interaction with Glyph, if you try to click on the Research / Upgrade Terminal before clicking on Liara, the game freezes. I understand that may be to encourage the intended order of interactions ... but couldn't you do that without making me Force Quit the game and restart from my last save point? PC.

Or is zambot talking about the batarian patient? Then it's most probably about Arrival. not Awakening. Awakening was the DLC for Dragon Age. :)

Xbox 360:

Liara calling me a friend after I romanced her in all the games
Sometimes when I talk to Liara, our heads bug out
Sometimes holding weapons that are not assault rifles end up being held like assault rifles (ie. pistols, shotguns, and submachine guns, and some snipers)

All for me really....

I must add my two cents!
I much prefer the first time,"I was born in London, and it's looking like I might die here too."
Versus
"You know, I was born in London?" "Really?"

I have a meeting with the team tomorrow to address some of the concerns over Story based bugs.

Which are your most important story based bugs? Please don't include multiplayer bugs as this meeting is stricktly about bugs that people playing the SP game are encountering. Bugs about weapons and powers are ok if they occur in the SP game as well as in the MP game. I'm looking for bugs with plots (like the Hanar Diplomat), Romances (Ken & Gabby), planets, audio, animations, etc.

Please only discuss bugs (not the ending, patching until now, other people's opinion of bugs, etc). Do not take the thread off topic or those who do will be subject to the rules against spamming the forums.

Thanks everyone.

don't know if it's too late but there are two big SP bugs I ran into while playing

1. shepard would look away from whoever was talking to him in a dialogue wheel cutscene, like he was shunning them, and it wouldn't stop until the sequence was over and he talked to someone else.
2. shepard's eyes would pop out of their sockets and give him this deranged look..

they were both actually pretty funny but also broke immersion so.. thought i'd bring that up ::)

When on Tuchanka trying to find the turian squad, the enemies stop spawning at one point close to the end. I believe it was just after finding the recording where the crew were talking about what would happen to their leader in light of his poor performance. The mission cannot be completed at that point.

It happened the first time on each of my two playthroughs. Once I restart the mission, the enemies spawn and it proceeds as expected.

  • "Hanar Diplomats" quest cannot always be completed (sometimes you can't access one of the necessary
    consoles to complete this quest)
  • In the "Aralakh Company"/"Rachni" mission, there is a major animation bug at some point. When your team is suposed to fall down into the  earth hole, you can hear the sound effects but you don't see an animation of your team falling down
  • sometimes characters will turn their heads 180 degrees (most visible during the first conversation with Liara onboard the Normandy)
  • Shepard gets stuck behind Joker on Normandy bridge on occasion. Forces you to reload a previous save game to continue.
  • Had a game, where James Vega was supposed to be in the docks of Citadel (at the Poker table). I could hear his voice but he was not visible.
  • Journal system could need an overhaul. Sometimes it's a bit confusing at it is now. Should be more like ME1/2 journal.
  • Ken/Gabby not talking bug
  • Not a real bug, but I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of real interaction/dialogue between Shepard/Ashley onboard the Normandy.
                                                                                                                                                                                                  I'm playing on the PC.

Ashley's loyalty being connected with Gabby, Kenneth and Tali dialogues.

Lesser her loyalty is, less dialogues you'll have of them in engine room.

If she's dead( either on Virimire or Citadel coup), no dialogue whatsoever.

Fix that.

I also suffer from the bug where you get stuck in the normandy cockpit while trying to talk to edi or joker. It usually only happens when im right behind joker and i try to talk to either of them. If i stand behind edi, i usually wont get stuck.

Also, and i know this pertains to the ending sequence but hear me out, the bug where even if i use Javik rarely during the game, he still somehow ends up in the final movie sequence coming out of the Normandy with joker. To the best of my knowledge, only the characters you use most are supposed to come out of the normandy with Joker, in my case Garrus and Liara. I really don't want to see Javik there so if you could please fix that bug i would greatly appreciate it.

Shadow217, I believe this is not a bug.  I suspect that the squadmates coming out of the shuttle depend upon the ending you choose.  I finished a playthrough choosing Synthesis and Joker and EDI emerged from the shuttle, representing the marriage of organics to synthetics.  I only used EDI as a squadmate when I had to that entire game.

And on my destroy ending, Javik and Garrus stepped out of shuttle because they are 2 warriors.  Just my theory but I think it's correct...

Would ahve to agree here. You discuss it during one of those holochats briefly, but when you make one of your pushes with Hammer team and they pick you up in the shuttle he states that he was born in London and Shepard's response is "Really?" Which is then followed by Shepard saying they'll take it all back and he can show him the town and Anderson joking about it needing a paint job.

One of the two really could be cut, because by the second time it's liek Shepard is actually surprised to be told Anderson was from there.
