There is nothing more frustrating that buying a premium specter pack and then getting  a card for a character that is not only one of the orriginal characters, but that you have completely unlocked.  I understand you want to make it as difficult as possible to unlock characters and weapons to get people to pay money to unlock them quicker, but giving us things we already have is really uncool.

so what do you suggest? getting ultra-rares when you have everything else?

I don't have everything else. I haven't even come close to unlocking everything. i don't get to play much, so it is extra frustrating to not get things I want. If someone has unlocked all of the rares, then it is fine to give them repeats I guess, but not when there are still numerous characters and weapons still unlocked.

Why not?

The MP is going to be practically dead long before most players get to that stage anyway, might as well let the small number of completionists have a reasonable chance to get all the weapons.

Right. People are going to stop playing before I even get some of the basic characters unlocked. i have wanted the Salarian Infiltrator since day 1 and still don't have it, nevermind ultra-rare weapons.

That's never gonna happen. Imo, a good soultion would be, that it starts giving you equipment (missiles, medi-gel, ammo, weapon and armor consumables, etc...) istead of character cards, once you lvl-ed your class to 20 and unlocked all customization options.

^ Good idea. I swear all I ever get are Salarian Engineers and Salarian Infiltrators. I would give you one if I could Tybalt2000

They should just give you consumables and you shouldn't get the same character card if you already unlocked all the appearance features of that character. Most people I figure that far maxed are going to be playing for N7 ranking or fun with buddies at that point.

Honestly I never rly understood this complaint. Promote what you can before hand then buy your packs it should get you a few levels. then just take your low level into FWW/G/G its a win-win. Level up your guys and dont miss out on the creds

It will never stop as you can never max a character. You have decided to play your own way, and not promote. This is not BioWares problem. I wouldn't mind seeing some gold consumables mixed in with the character cards though.

You can get all of the unlockable features of a character.  I'm saying that when you have all of the customizable options available for a character you should stop getting that character's card, particularly if there are other characters that you have not unlocked at all.  I am not talking about the character's rank.

Why? I can't imagine more useless action than promotion.

yes it is pointless as it only increses N7, but at least then those cards wouldnt be completly useless. I guess its kinda a why not sort of thing for me.

I can earn ranks by playing.  i don't need to be given cards to level up a character.  I need cards to unlock characters.

Consumables as a replacement isn't really a good idea. If I wanted consumables I'd dump 33k on a Jumbo Pack not 99k on a PSP. They really need to address this though, my desire to play MP has nosedived this last week after buying over a mil worth of packs and receiving nothing but Character Cards for already maxed appearance/levels. There's new gear options now, new classes, and existing N7 weapons. The fact I'm still receiving Asari Adept cards is beyond bull****.

and that sucks.

Playing the game should give xp, and the card should unlock things.

Yes, character cards give experience, but they unlock characters and customization options.  The experience seems to be more of a side perk.  I don't need the cards for the experience they give.  I can earn experience by playing.  I need the cards to unlock new characters, and it is a waste when I already have all of the customization options unlocked. I shouldn't be getting a Quarian Infiltrator card when I can already customer her lights but I have not unlocked most of the new characters (from both DLCs) and even some of the orriginal characters.

Yesterday I got a human engineer in a premium specter box... shit was grand.

And seriously? Experience? One match on bronze gives you more experience than the common character cards.

I would really love to hear from someone at BioWare on why this is like this. (answer: because we made the store as frustrating as possible to get what you want so EA can get rich on mircotransactions)

BioWare was better before EA bought it. Yet another company EA has killed. Congratulation to the worst company in the world 2012.

Not everyone wants to save up millions before buying anything. I prefer to buy a couple of packs each night I'm playing.

As it is, I have three choices.
1) Play a lot without buying packs, promote everything at once and then buy.
2) Don't promote, which makes redundant character cards even more redundant by losing the xp.
3) Promote as soon as a character reaches level 20, which pretty much locks me out of silver and gold for a good part of my play time.

None of those options are attractive.

Experience is the main perk other than unlocking characters for the first time. They even buffed the experience before. This was their solution to this complaint. Character cards are the one thing that keep ultra rare weapons, ultra rare. If they changed this, everyone that has leveled URs the hard way, will be far more pissed than you. Especially those that put money in.

I bet the solution is to add something like gold consumables. I highly doubt they change the character cards.
