What happens with the recruit pack/veteran pack when you max out characters/weapons/mods? Would the recruit pack just contain consumables/one time mods?
Yeah, but they're at lower levels so it evens out.

It's always good to keep at least one level 20 around for silver or gold, so getting a card for a character/class that you've maxed is frustrating. If there were no microtransactions-i.e. If you could only buy packs with in-game credits-then it wouldn't be such an issue; frustrating yes but bearable. The problem that I have is when people spend REAL MONEY and get a card that they can't use. That strikes me as more than a little morally and ethically iffy on Bioware's part. They could give a character card of the same rarity (Uncommon/Rare/Ultra rare) for a character or class that wasn't maxed without affecting the balance of the game at all.
Which is why I am sure they will fix this at some point. The store makes them look bad, very bad. I don't think that BioWare is evil, but the store makes them look like they are. Giving nothing in return for something is evil.
Credits that I earned and real money are something. A maxed out CC is nothing. N7 rating is nothing. So promoting does not fix the problem.
Give us a Gold level consumable when we are going to draw a maxed out CC. If you don't want the Gold level consumable, keep your characters under level 20. This satisfies both camps. The ones that would like N7 to be based more on skill than the store, and the lames that like the store to give them experience.

Just throwing this out there....the game has a soild singleplayer, whynot take a break and try it out? The extended cut dlc will be here sometime anyway.
Just throwing this out there... he has played ME2, I find it unlikely that he hasn't played the single player at least once. Also, the extended cut is only for the end. Are you really going to play through 30 hours again so that you can see 5 minutes of new content?
So, just throwing this out there... playing the single player does not change the fact that the maxed out Character Cards are exactly the same as getting nothing. I pay to play, but I won't pay for nothing.

I'm confident Bioware is slowly going into this direction. Until they fix this though, I'm gonna cut my playing time a bit. Once again today, I've gotten already maxed characters three times or so, by opening three PSP. In the end, it burns me out.
I agree 100%. I am certain that they are doing something right now. One thing you could do until they fix it is only buy Jumbo packs. I have started doing that, and I hate the store just a little less. It keeps me playing a little longer. Also, I have tons of equipment now (except missles.) However, I would never buy a Jumbo with real money. They will have to fix the PSPs before I spend real money again.
Its not a perfect solution, not even a good one, but it does keep me playing longer. If I open a PSP I would be to dissapointed to continue, so I don't open them.

Here's an example that has happened several times. My Soldier class is at lvl 20. Open a pack. Card for female human soldier. She is already maxed out. My male? Only one upgrade. Card's benefit to me? None!
Attention Bioware: I will not spend one penny of real money on Multi Packs until you fix this.

Indeed. Played ME2 to death. All characters and possible endings unlocked ready for ME3. Played ME3 SP through once and discovered all those choices meant absolute dick. Then I played through on all three endings maxing all resources, 100% readiness in MP etc on three different classes and realised I was only really playing this game any longer for the MP, which I found to be highly ironic. Thanks though Drunken Warrior for your borderline patronising suggestion.
Oh, and /bump.

Add my name to the OP's petition, this should be fixed.

Just curious MADGator, have you ever spent any real money? I ask because I used to, but don't anymore because of the repeat Maxed Character Cards.
Also, would you have been happier, or happy at all, if you recieved a Female Human Soldier, and the Soldier class was only 16 at the time? If all the Female Human Appearence Options were unlocked, and you recieved another Female Human Soldier, would you be happy if it raised your Soldier class to 17? Is that worth 99,000 credits or 3 bucks to you?

can't they just give you a character point if you get a card already maxed out? And with 5 of these points you can pick a new class to unlock

Why is it when I get on these forums, 9 times out of 10 I see one of these threads?
Because the customers are unhappy enough to talk about it. Anyone who owns a business know that when the customers are talking about the bad experience they had at your store, you are in trouble. You should have done everything possible, bent over backwards twice, to make sure that every single one of your customers was as happy as they possibly could be. Because just one upset customer tells as many people as will listen about their bad experience. This gives the general public a bad impression of your company. It has been the downfall of many companies, Circuit City being the most recent in my mind.
BioWare has a store where they offer you a box of nothing for 3 bucks. I don't like nothing, so this gives me a negative impression of BioWare as a company. However, I know that BioWare is basically good people, and that if they understand the proplem, they will fix it. I have that impression because of years of good business with BioWare. However, if they do not fix it, my opinion of BioWare as a company will suffer, and fall more in line with their parent company, EA, which I believe deserved the title of Worst Company in America, and I will vote for them again next year. I try not to buy anything from EA, excluding BioWare.
tl;dr
People are upset with the thieving store, so they want to vent. They also want BioWare to do something about it.
