But the mechanism is there, and it appeals to the part of your brain that gets you into the skinner box whether you want to or not. If the mechanism is poorly designed, then it detracts from the experience, whether or not it rationally should. At least I am aware enough of the flawed nature of the human brain to admit that.John123453242 wrote...
Doktor, that is for the current cod generation. Games didn't reward you like that until pretty recently. People loved pong and millions of other games that gave you nothing but gameplay.
I'd rather say that I'm rationally explaining the irrational background for my opinion. You are doing it wrong. Your excuses don't make sense. That is just you trying to rationalize your opinion.
But that's the thing. I'm not getting bored with the game. I'm getting frustrated with the game, and those are two very different things. If the game didn't have a store system at all (or if I could just shut down the lizard-part of my brain that responds to simple rewards), then I could probably just enjoy the gameplay. But as it is, the irrational part of my brain responds negatively to some aspects of my brain. And from the point of view of the game designers (who should focus on giving me just enough enjoyment to keep me hooked), that is a bad thing. If you enjoy the gameplay, fake guns won't change that. If you are getting bored with this game, it is time to move on or take a break.
