I would like to have character cards work like weapons and stop appearing when you've maxed out the appearance options. I'd prefer to get more consumable items to stop ultra rares from becoming too common.
Also I just had a thought, the only reason we keep getting maxed character cards is because there is an xp bonus attached too them. Despite what BioWare seems to think I feel most players value character cards for unlocking characters and appearance options not for class xp. So what if the two were divorced? Remove the xp bonus from character cards and implement new consumable cards that are just xp boosts that can be used like reset powers cards. This would eliminate all the issues as characters would stop appearing once maxed AND you would no longer suffer bonus xp getting wasted on lvl 20 classes since you could apply the xp cards to your non 20 classes.

The xp cards being seperated from the character cards could work ONLY if there was a limit on xp cards, just like with reset cards.
I wouldn't mind if they completely removed the xp bonus from the store. Playing is what provides xp. The cards are for unlocking characters and customization options.

Best thing you can do is give in and promote your character. Had to promote my engineer and sentinel, didn't like it but I doubt BW will make a new pack to exclude character cards.
i think you misunderstand. I don't want a pack that does not give character cards, I don't want to get cards for a character that is already maxed. Put a limit on the character cards like they did with the respec cards. Getting a card for a character that has all appearance options unlocked is a waste when I still have some characters locked. I'm not talking about the character's level, I am talking about their customization options. That is what I mean by "maxed"

That is thinking. I hate the idea because I don't care about the useless N7 rating, so I would still feel trolled by the new XP cards, but, an XP card is something, and a maxed Character Card is nothing. I really hope they don't go with this, just give us a Gold Consumable Pack, or a voucher for a Jumbo if we are going to draw a maxed CC.

Yeah. An XP card would not be very good. I was just comenting on the option presented. Ideally they would put a cap on character cards so you don't get one after you have gotten 5 for that character.

It stopped making any sense after first week from launch... but whatever.

I remember someone from BW mentioning the purpose of xp packs. Basically it was supposed to put players in a situation where they would play a character that they wouldn't exactly choose because they got an experience pack that boosted that character.

I can understand that, but if that is the reason then it makes even less sense to keep giving cards for maxed characters. If they want us to try other classes, make it easier to get other characters in those classes.

My N7 rating is feeling a little hollow. I mainly play adepts, AA, Drell, Justicar. I play to a million, and make sure all my characters at 20 minus the adepts are promoted. I have been getting so many character cards lately and nothing else. My rank went from 1054 to what is today, and I hardly played the rest of the classes. They aren't even the new rebellion characters. I got both the Geth Engineer, and Baterian Sentinal two times last night which are already maxed. :-(

Agreed. Also, the game has been out long enough now that most people have tried all the classes and characters, and they know which ones they like and don't like. Giving us a CC for a character we don't like isn't going to make us want to use that character. Giving us a CC for a maxed out character makes no sense at all.

I'd almost prefer that the card actually said that rather than it being a character card, just to make it seem less like getting the same thing over and over.

I love playing this game. However, it is so frustrating to for a couple hours on Bronze/Silver (I'm not very good), save up enough credits and then unlock ANOTHER Krogan Sentinel. I know that getting redundant character cards is not going away, never gonna happen. It is a random store and they want you playing for as long as possible. If they took away that chance, everyone would max out, bore of the game and move on. But would it be too much to ask to at least INCREASE the odds of getting stuff you do not already have?

I'm on a temporary break from the character card spam, until I fill in the last 4 levels of the Krysae, and then it'll start again. I don't have a huge problem with it. I see it as the PSP having to give me 2 rares or better, and, if i didn't roll an ultrarare, it still has to give me something. If there aren't any weapons left to get, I'm getting character cards - they're the only things at that rarity level in those 2 slots that are unlimited. They're essentially, "Sorry, you are not a winner. Please try again" cards taking the appearance of characters.

but when you do not have every character or every gun unlocked, character cards for maxed characters are "Sorry, you are not a winner" cards. You are getting nothing when there are so many things left to unlock. I only have 1 of the new DLC characters, and only about half of the rare guns. I don't even have all of the orriginal characters unlocked, so I shouldn't be getting character cards for maxed characters

If, by some miracle, someone has every toons fully upgraded give more consumable instead... Although, at that point, you just buy Jumbo packs unless you don't have all guns maxed...

You need to read the whole thread before commenting. We aren't saying to give us things we haven't maxed out. We are saying "BioWare - Stop giving cards for maxed character". We don't want a maxed out CC. Give us a Gold Consumable, or some other thing if we are going to draw a maxed out CC. It is a simple "if then" program. Very easy. "If maxed out CC then Gold Consumable." See. I just wrote the program.

Lots of people agreeing with this, and no word from BioWare. At least acknowledge that you hear our complaints?
Goading BW isn't going to make them respond. I would like to see them respond as well, but they'll do it on their own schedule, not ours. There are tons of threads and polls on this subject, and they all come to the same conclusion. BioWare will fix it, and you may not know until you read the Balance Changes for the week.

I'm not trying to goad them (ok maybe a little), but the stonewall approach is a dying business practice. Consumers expect and appreciate transparency, and it would be good business for them to just acknowledge that they hear our dissatisfaction. This has also been a problem for weeks. It isn't like the new weapon problem.

Ah, true also. If you haven't maxed your rares yet, why would you be trolled by maxed CCs. That doesn't make sense.

While adding some hot pink trim to my Krogan's battle armour isn't a high priority for me....it will make me less irritated than getting my 7001st Salarian Engineer.

I can't remember where I saw it, but they addressed the new weapon problem recently. I do think the new weapons are the biggest problem with the game right now, so that is good. They'll get to this, just keep your eyes open, because it might not be on this thread. Like I said, there are tons of threads about the same thing.
