Sure, the ending was bad, but it was a blast all the way up to that point. You people need to get over it. Extended Cut is on the way to fix that. I'm reading stuff here about how the entire series is now completely trash, and people will never even consider buying another ME game ever again. It sounds like the CoD people on Gamefaqs. Every year they say it's garbage, but they go and buy it anyway.

Auto-dialogue kills it for me. Game is great in many ways, but I find no replayability in it, compared to ME1&2.

People are just hurt by their favorite universe and all its characters being seemingly destroyed and they're lashing out.
I loved ME3 and I'm sure after the EC is released it'll be even better as the end won't break my heart any more

The thing I don't get is why we have so many people who hate the game posting incessantly on this forum, it's annoying.

I don't hate it but there are quite a few continuity errors at the end that really wreck the imersion.
ME3 also feels way more linear than previous games which make replaying it not as enjoyable.

They aren't mature enough to handle disappointment without lashing out like spoiled children.

I loved Mass Effect 1
I loved Mass Effect 2
I loved Mass Effect 3
Heck I even loved Mass Effect N7 Special Forces
I didn't really like the ending to Mass Effect 3 though. A bit of a limp way to end a game.
But I'm not mean spirited about it.

It is more apathy than anything for me.KillaCam7i3 wrote...

Putting the ending aside, the whole game just feels so stripped back compared to the previous two. It's quite a hollow experience that, with rare exception, fails to draw people in.

It has become the popular thing to hate.
While the ending sort of ruined ME3s replay value (meaning I'll probably play through it only 3 or 4 times before the EC), it in no way ruined the entire series. Mass Effect is still my favorite trilogy, and ME2 is still my favorite game ever. They are good stand-alone games, the fact that you can import your choices just makes them even better.
Really all I'm expecting from the EC is clarification and a more personalized ending based on choices. That's really all I'll need for more playthroughs.

I think one of the problems was that the game felt extremely streamlined, to the extent that it almost did not feel like I was playing Mass Effect. Also, the tossing aside of previous game characters was a blow, as was the lack of exploration through side missions discovered on planets and a focus on Cerberus battles instead of Reaper forces made it all feel wrong.

Why does it always have to be an extreme - like "why do people hate?"
It's fun when you play it, it's boring after the first playthrough, and that's not worth 80 bucks. And that's without talking about the ending.

Really? How? I watched 6 hours worth of ME1 on youtube (PS3 player). Then, I bought ME2. I thought ME3 gave the biggest decisions in the series. I actually felt bad when certain things happened to certain people. But, I united to 'species' at Rannoch, and caused extinction for another one.
And thanks... to everyone. This place seems to have a lot less trolling/pointless posts than SpamFAQs.

Because they dislike it, presumably. Same reason anybody hates anything.

They hate because they love. If they didn't care, they wouldn't be here. And if they didn't love the game, they'd have no reason to hate the ending.

I've been on here awhile and I don't remember anyone saying ME1 or ME2 were trash. I would like a link on that. Now some people have said they won't buy any more games unless E.C.fixes the ending. Finally people will get over it when the ending is fixed. Most people are angry because they can't play it again until then.

Because it's a genuine disappointment plotwise, and quite shrinked gameplay-wise, with emphasis only on multiplayer nowadays.
Even the atrocious plot of fallout 3 seems good in comparison.

Questionable questing system, lack of bosses, obvious emphasys on MP horde mode encounters (in singleplayer), a large quantity of auto-dialogue, large number of plot holes, bad ending (a sad ending can work, for proof play Planescape Torment), ign, and other things...

Up until my conversation with starchild it was the greatest game i had ever played.
After the end it was still a great game but that ending really did a number on me.
