Why Do People Hate This Game So Much?

- terrible art design: Kai Leng and his ninja companions, oversexualized characters like EDI and Ashley
- terrible writing: the Mars Mission for example :"Hey, we just found this incredibly conveniant McGuffin!", I wont even go into detail about the abysmal endings here
- Day 1 DLC, and "buy moar DLC-messages"
- terrible sidequests: eavesdrop fetchquests that would even be substandard in a MMORPG like WoW
- terrible questlog / journal. Why was it necessary to "fix" something that wasn't even broken in the first place?
- ME3 blatantly ignores almost all of the decisions you made in its' predecessors
- incredible lazyness: Tali's face, winter on mars, palette swap ending cutscenes, ...
- only one hub world
- dull and repetitive multiplayer: seriously, how is anybody with a three-digit IQ able to play this for more than a few hours? Horde spawns, you shoot stuff, spawn, shoot, spawn, shoot, buy moar spectre packs, spawn, shoot...
This game is nothing but an insult to ME and ME2, practically inferior in almost every aspect, it does in no way live up to my expectations.

The ending nullifies our choices made throughout the entire series, it also nullifies the speech by sovereign in mass effect 1 i believe it was " We are each a nation independent and free of all weakness " turns out they ain't free they are just minions (lame huh?).
- Eavesdropping -
This was lazy simply to avoid having to make cut scenes i believe someone summed it up best with this drawing.

- Choices? What choices? -
Back in the first Mass Effect you had the option to save or destroy the last rachni queen if you saved her she appears again in ME2 via an asari on illum giving a message to shepard. If you destroy her? Np the reapers built a brand new on either way whatever you do results in her getting enslaved by the reapers. I believe it was mac walters or michael gamble who said pre ME3 that their role would be big turns out they're only worth 100 or so war assets,
- Tali's face -
As mentioned by a guy a couple of posts above me they simply photoshopped tali. Instead of creating something on their own they decided to pull a random image from google and photoshop it (they did the same at the buzz aldrin part).

Sure, the ending was bad, but it was a blast all the way up to that point. You people need to get over it. Extended Cut is on the way to fix that. I'm reading stuff here about how the entire series is now completely trash, and people will never even consider buying another ME game ever again. It sounds like the CoD people on Gamefaqs. Every year they say it's garbage, but they go and buy it anyway.
I think a lot of people feel the same as you.
There are others who also think that not only is the ending horrible but everything from the beginning to Earth. The writing just took a nosedive, characters were terrible (who the hell decided TIM whole situtation was a good idea?) gameplay wise yea it's the best but everything else has suffered.

As for Tali...they didn't quite pull a "random image" from google...they selected a hot chick. At least they did that. A truly random choice could have led to something or someone rather ghastly for this purpose (how would you like Pauly Shore's face or Barbara Walter's or some random trailer trash or hillbilly pic photoshopped instead?)

I was incredibly disappointed. It could have been so much better. I did not like the ending at all. But apart from that, things such as the reveal of Tali's face and the auto-dialogue showed that not as much effort was put into ME3 compared to ME2 or ME1.
I know Bioware says it wasn't rushed... but that's just how it feels, regardless of whether it's the case or not.
I feel like after the EC DLC, they should focus the rest of their DLC on actually completing the game. Replace autodialouge with conversations with choices. Give Tali a better face. Fix some more of the bugs. Return cut dialouge to certain characters, especially Ashley. Replace as many of the scan and grab quests as possible with N7 missions.. Hopefully similar to the missions in ME1 and ME2, because, while I can't put my finger on why, the N7 missions we did get this time around just didn't feel "right" to me.
Won't happen, because it would take a major investment of resources. But I guess a guy can dream...
They can SAY it wasn't rushed all they want. What else would they say? Seriously. It was objectively rushed. How do we know this? It had THE shortest development time of any in the series. They did a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am dev cycle on this game and whipped it out in no time. That, my friends, is rushed.

-Lots of bugs
-Focus on new boring / stupid characters and neglection of old established ones
-Deus Ex Machina plot
-stripped down dialogue
-focus on Cerberus when the Reapers are here
-Linear level design
-Zero exploration
-Non-stop corridor shooting
-less polished
-Boring quests
-focus on multiplayer
-multiplayer's mere existence
-big choices that don't matter (kill the rachni in ME1? They still exist. Wtf?)
An ending that made no sense whatsoever and was both anti-climatic, boring and a lie.

the ending sucked but it wasn't a bad game,
I also don't like the Multiplayer,
but it's an above average game IMHO

Not all of us hate the game because of the ending. Some of us hate the game because of the issues listed above.

I'm sorry to say that I find ME3 to be the least replayable game of the Bioware games that I have played.
The whole EMS-ending-multiplayer-tie-in business also left a sour taste in my mouth.

I wouldn't of gave a rats ass how tali looked provided they designed their own look for her instead of pulling a sloppy 2 minute job in photoshop and yes, yes they did pull a random image.AdamJenson wrote...

Really? The worst part about the entire series and making it longer will fix it? I gurantee it wont.Extended Cut is on the way to fix that.
Thats how much ME3 sucked. Its so terrible that I regret buying 1 and 2 because now I see with open eyes how bad the entire series was. Lazy writing is there from 1 and 2 as well and i can no longer ignore that knowing that its not going anywhereI'm reading stuff here about how the entire series is now completely trash, and people will never even consider buying another ME game ever again.

What others do is of no consequence. I say I'm never touching the ME universe again I mean it. What can they possibly do to bring me back? I'm already convinced the next one is going to focus completely on multiplayer.

Same here, I was willing to put up with the BS of the first two but now ME3 has made me hate the entire series(I've destroyed my copies of 1 and 2).

Oh i'm sorry i didn't realise we all had to pick Skyrim or something as our own favourite game in the world. Some people could think of Barbie horse adventures or Jurassic Park Operation Genesis as the greatest game they have ever played and that's fine, their opinion is still relevant.
Almost 30 years of playing video games and I can think of at least 100 games that are better than Mass Effect 3
