I've noticed that on a lot of my patches no one seems to know how to perform the objective.
This includes no one sitting on the big hack point, everyone dog piling on the 4 smaller hacks (or infiltrators not even trying for them), and no one protecting the retrieval.
The other day I saw someone pick up the huge back pack (is future hard drive tech really that bad?) and try to run 6 times before figuring out that they could not with the pack on.
What happened to gold players?

Like Oh M GEE! I know you from Geekfest group
But aside, it get tiresome playing with people who can't carry their own weight. I bet there thinking the same, "WTF R U DOING. STOP KILLING EVERYTHING SO FAST."
Yesterday I stumbed upon a private group that knew there game. It was fun and they appreciated me, but they asked me to leave, on the mic, for there friend. I was touched

the reason no one can win is because the people whined to get the old matchmaking system back because it was faster but now im stuck with mostly below 200 players who shouldnt play gold. they dont even use equipment. on glacier on a hack objective, i use all my rockets on banshees so we can finish fast....just one or two more rockets and we wouldve had it

This has been my experience as well. That's why when people started threads about how gold players migrating to silver for the weekend operation was going to be great I was thinking no it isn't, gold players suck.

More and More I only do gold in Private. We do FBW but we like to switch it up a lot. When I do gold in public all I ever get is FBW..it gets old.

The only Gold i managed to finish in the last few days was a non-farming Firebase White match (As in, people didn't all camp inside the room down the ladder, 2 guys on the top, 2 guys picking targets off near the ammo crate outside that room)
Least it didn't feel like Farming, lol

Ill put my two cents on this topic
I only speak for myself but ever since bioware decided to add matchmaking into quick matches I can't join or no can join my lobby if there n7 level doesn't match mine which its in the 2900+
Second reason most of us gold players found teammates and friends who communicate and have fun while playing so we are always grouped..
And lastly most of the experienced gold players dislikes playing with ramdoms!!!!

I run a couple of Random/Cerberus/Gold lobbies every night, and I haven't really noticed a big difference lately. Everyone has to start somewhere, so sometimes you end up carrying a newbie, but it's no big deal.
I always got solid players when the N7 restrictions were in place, but lobbies would take over an hour to fill, so good riddance to that IMO. I'd rather have to carry a Bronze player than babysit a lobby that long.

I think a lot of the better gold players joined one of the several player groups on the forums.
We're always looking for more in the group in my sig. There's also the legion effect. You should look one of us up.
EDIT: I should say, our group is only on pc, whereas I think the legion effect is cross platform.
aye the groups are stealing all the good players ;p
we've got like 750+ so far, in a month

for me personally I usually only play private matches... N7 1400 atm... and very rarely lose on gold matches... but when I do have to open it to public and find randoms its actually very rare that we find a "keeper" most of the time they just end up bringing us down more than help... so i think some people just feel they have to play gold because they are a certain level but I feel most of the problems people have could be solved with better communication.
I will take a level 200 on gold who has a mic and listens than a level 1000 who runs around dying all the time.

Probably just luck - I had 3 brilliant public games at the start of the evening where the team just sorta clicked - then the host left.
Then I had three games that I got dropped into in progress where everyone else was wiping every 30 seconds and it was all I could do to revive them (I was using either AV or SI) - those games ended badly.

Yes, my guess is all the better players have grown their friends list through the use of groups.
I never have to play in a Gold lobby with randoms

the best way to find good team mate on randoms ( at least for me). Host your own gold game, set the preference you want to play on. Start the game (best if you are alone). Run the first two wave alone and then some good team mate will drop in. Since no one knows each others N7 ranking and what build the team are on. All have to work as a team. Since you are on top off the score board the others will fight like crazy to catch you up. My the time they do catch up with your score, The team probably have reached wave 5-6.
This works for me. Have fun.

Gold seems easier than Silver since the update on XBL.
Gold's always been pretty easy. It just takes more bullets/powers to kill something. That's it. It was NEVER about skill. From what I've seen, the Gold community is probably the least skilled there is. 90% of them are Infiltrators that only care about their own score. Even funnier is when they cry about Biotic Explosions making it hard for them to get kills and end up quitting the game.

One of the reasons that N7 numbers in the 1000's don't mean as much as they did is because we are farther along in the continuum of the MP game. When it first released, the odds of high N7's meaning "good" were, eh, higher, given that those players were likely playing a lot in a short period of time. Of course, they could have been purchasing a lot of PSP's or SP's, but it seems more likely they just played a lot. But now that we're further along, more scrubby types (like me) have been able to slowly inch their N7 ratings higher, thus fooling people into thinking we're better than we might be.
I finally bought a mic that works, but it seems to not matter, as even people with mics either are on mute the whole time, or don't bother using it. Which is too bad, since effective communication/team work can make short work of gold matches, even with average players.

Actually, I've been searching U/U/G the last two days and I've only run into one FBWGG lobby. I only finished the wave ten objective 50% of the time and extracted like twice. The randoms haven't been too bad, except for a handful of >50 N7s.
