I take the Neutral ground because if both answers are possibly Wrong.

Then it is better to admit, that we, particularly I, do not know.

I can't believe, to me it is a concept that I can't grasp.

"To think you are right about something without concrete evidence and state it as fact? Surely you are insane?" You may not be, but I can not grasp the concept.

Really? Prove it.

Prove it wrong.

That's not how it works. If someone puts forth a proposition, the burden of proof is on them to prove it to be true. Until they prove their case, it doesn't get to be afforded the status of a "true" thing.

I'm afraid that's not how it works. The core tenents of science and mathematics are based on uprovable assumptions "proven" via circular logic. We cannot prove, we simply presume to.

Siansonea II, I don't think you read my post quite carefully enough. I think it's actually quite clear what I believe. My mind is made up. I just think the terms are a bit too loaded, and the category in which you would place me is also used for beliefs I do not hold.

Sorry, but the burden of proof is with those who make the claim. If you claim something, it's your job to back it up with proof.

So if you claim god is or isn't something, you have to prove it. Until you come with prove, it is only natural that we are skeptical and do not believe your claims.

Axioms aren't proven via circular logic. They aren't proven at all. I thought this was your point in the first place.

Notice the quotation marks. They go around in circles, so some consider that proof.

Wow, this thread is full of lulz - humans are such funny creatures, the way they bicker back and forth about their personal beliefs, both trying to prove the other wrong but never succeeding.

Oh, so you're saying you've never been in an argument before?

I know what circular logic is. You seem to claim that this is used as the basis of science and mathematics though, and this is false.

And yet these tenets are what powers our computers, our cell phones, our televisions, etc., all without the component of "belief". Sure, you can lawyer this argument into existential oblivion through your own brand of circular logic, but what good would that do?

And the day that every random flight of fancy that people come up with gets to be considered TRUE until DISPROVEN by another person? Please. Go back to Philosophy class.

Then those people are not mathematicians I guess.

Nope. Or mathematicians not into real analysis and all that jazz.

Evidence and tangibility are what seperate science and mathematics from faith and religion.
