This is a wierd little annoyance but I cant get these types of ammo from enemy drops or shops. I have played this game like 5 times easily and i cant get anymore. I've tried to sell them and buy them back and even break them down into omnigel to see if they will start dropping again so I have to roll with low level ammo upgrades and I keep getting level 10 ice,explosive, inferno and sledgehammer rounds from every encounter. I run it on Xbox 360 so no hardware to report just curious any help would be appreciated.

Bad news, I'm afraid. Tungsten and Shredder ammo only go up to rank VII. If all you're seeing drop is IX and X stuff it means you've levelled up past the point at which the VII stuff stops dropping.

Caught me out exactly the same way first time I played ME1. Finished the game with about 2 each of VI and VII shredders and tungsten because I didn't realise there was no rank VIII. I like to make sure the whole squad's got one of each type on them and can't be bothered to do too much unequpping and reequipping between missions, so subsequent playthroughs I've been very careful to keep all armour piercing/tungsten and anti personnel/shredder and only sell or omnigel if I had 7 of the next rank up. And never, ever get rid of rank VI or VII tungsten/shredder. Too late for you now, and also no good on a new game with the same character as you'll still be getting IX and X stuff everywhere, but you'll know for next time.
