All this ladder talk is giving me flashbacks to Metal Gear Solid 3. *shudders*

Never played MGS3 so missing out on the joke here.:?

Nearly 3 quarters of the way through the game after beating a certain boss, you had to climb this ladder in a tunnel up the mountainside. The whole time through the games main theme starts playing and it's a freaking long lader. All the while Snakes stamina bar is slowly draining. Some even jokingly refer to it as a boss fight itself.

But hey, show, don't tell.

It was such a epic moment, like a rite of passage lol

Aye. And then you had to fight the urge to not fall down again just for the hell of it once you reach the top.

Or an endless supply of space magic and disappointment. You never can be sure...

Because there's no such thing as too many Ghostbusters references.

He was also using the Reegar Carbine AKA the Ghostbuster gun.

You should ask him about the Twinkie.

It's okay. the ladder mystery needs to be answered.

On the other hand: What if this thread brings the ladder to their attention, and they decide to "fix" the map on the next patch with no official commentary on the matter?

Uh oh. They could "nerf" the ladder! :(

Maybe it's the janitor's office.

Every once in a while it's maintenance day and he goes like:
"Oh, it's another day of maintenance. I'll better fetch the ladder."
And he steps out, takes the ladder and uses the rest of the day to figure out how to reach the landing pad - especially since the Alliance drops by nearly every minute and Cerberus shuttles just stopped commuter service.

If it is purely poor level design, I'd be both sad and unsurprised. The thing is, it really IS bizarre. I mean, someone put together that  level, and they could have just shoved a smooth texture there and let that be that. They clearly put a lot of detail into these maps, but after looking around with a few people, the details often make little to no sense. Still wondering what the hell it is I'm supposed to 'PULL HARD' in Firebase: Dagger, or the creepy green fog on Giant. Or the differently sized crates in Giant that have the same capacity. Or what the hell Pattent 9900 is. Or what LT-5 signifies in white and glacier.

These maps make no sense!

Just saying, I know your pain

Holy crap, seeing it from that angle, I have to ask, does Cerberus have ANY safety standards at all? A lone door, balcony, and ladder with an infinite chasm below? I guess dead people can't collect workman's comp, so there's that...

This is where Maraduer Sheilds is training to prevent the bad ending.

Further, Bioware... WHAT IS THIS FACILITY STANDING ON TOP OF!?

*snip*

Noclip/Vanguard Glitch reveals that the Firebase White map is one 'branch' or off-shoot of a giant cylindrical facility situated in the middle of a gigantic ice crater.

Although I do wonder how far down it goes.

If you take the red pill, you can see how far down the rabbit hole goes!!!:wizard:

Another bug in this stage (I have no picture yet), is that the shuttle pilot parks the shuttle beyond the farthest wall from LZ and about a mile away. I'm not kidding - the shuttle is parked against one of the walls you can't see normally. This stage is strangely textured beyond what you can normally see. I'll try to get my friend to secure me a photo of it.
I'm his forum minion

Friend seems to have ways to navigate physics. He's also seen the shuttle parked at Tuchanka down by the trucks where there is that long path (above the trucks actually). You can also walk down there apparently, but you can't really get out from down there easily.

when i first saw this thread, i thought they meant it in a metaphorical sense ... like "where does this ladder of nerfs lead" or "where does this ladder of overpowered DLC classes and guns go"
But nope. where does this ACTUAL LADDER GO
WHERE THE F DOES IT GO?!!!

So, does that mean the 2 minutes we have to wait for extraction is because the pilot is finishing his coffee or something? I mean, it's not like he parked on the other side of the planet.

I think its keeping the shuttle loaded and ready to start its pick up sequence but why it has to be drawn if it can't be seen is baffling. it just takes up resources. pilot lied... was eating lunch....
also the ****tle hidrs like this on all maps. Hydra on top of thr dam, tuchanka down that tunnel with the trucks...
