This is what the ending should have been but I am not holding out hope that EC will be anything but a facepalm momentMeatus wrote...
This is what EC looks like in my head. I'm probably setting myself up for an angsty alcoholic binge after this announcement or preview, or whatever.

I have about the same number of friends in RL who played all the way through the three games. Only one of them is of the "meh it is what it is" camp. All the others are either really sad that it had such a weak ending and don't bother anymore, or are so fed up they don't care anymore. None of them interact with the gaming community online. The friends I have that do interact online...100% of them are not only anti-ending, but ending haters. Lol. Point is, even if you have a bunch of friends who range from "meh" to "liked it," doesn't mean that someone else's group of friends represents the same subset of opinions. More often than not, I find the more invested someone is into the ME lore, the more they do not like the ending.ardensia wrote...

every poll out there has the anit-enders at 85-90% and the pro=enders at 5-10%. thats what they mean by small.
The actual numbers are really hard to gague. People who are angry about something are far more likely to speak up than people who are content or who just feel "meh" about it. I know about 10 people IRL who have completed ME. Out of that group, only 1 of them is genuinely angry about the end of the game, and he is VERY vocal about it. Out of the 9 who are somewhere in between "It's a weak cop-out" and "I actually enjoyed it," I am the only one who is actually on the forums and surveys mucking up the hate stats with my sunshine and cyborg ponies.
While I could try and rally the rest of these people to my pro-ending cause, most of them either don't care enough, or don't want to get anywhere near the vitriol that has been the online fanbase, so I wouldn't have much success.
I'm not saying my particular subsection of the general ME fan population is an accurate representation of the whole. I'm just saying that even online stats aren't going to cover the entire population base simply because a lot of people don't bother to interact with the gaming community, even though they are gamers.

Does no one here get the relationship between EA and Bioware? Anyone?
I think it's more of a "this might be good news but not so sure" thread at this point.xsdob wrote...
So has this thread derailed from a "This is great news" thread into a "Bileware sucks" thread and a "Endings suck" hate thread yet?

Just as Pandemic and Westwood before them. The cycle has repeated itself more than you can imagine.
Yes but this EC could stop the Cycle. There is still hope.

You have a choice. More than you know.I -- don't know.
- Destroy - You can choose to Destroy EA. But you will also destroy all subsidiaries (Maxis) of EA. Even you are partly made of EA. By filing this injunction, harness the power of the Crucible to become a legal force to temporarily delay the cycle.
- Control - You can choose to Control EA. If you ascend this staircase to the executive suite, you shall harness the power of the chair of CEO, but you will lose everything you have.
- Synthesis - Add BioWare's energy to the Crucible. You can merge Gamers with EA. A chain reaction where developers and gamers become one. You create a new symbiosis -- a new marketplace.

How many times have we been promised something special only to get disappointed? Does no one remember the debacle of the femShep poll announcement?
"Hey, we have something awesome that ALL Shepards will love! onlyifyouplayasafemshep(andmaybenoteventhen)"
Or the BioWare Bazaar? Or the February 11th, 2011 announcement regarding Dragon Age 2? Or that one panel where no one was allowed to ask any questions about the end of the game? Or the fact that multiplayer was forced into the game despite the majority of players not wanting it for fear that it would affect the single player experience (which it has) after they had lead people to believe that there would be no MP in teh game at all?
Sorry, but I think I'm going to maintain a healthy dose of skepticism regarding this upcoming 'show.' No offense is intended towards Mr. Gamble at all, as he is merely the messenger.

Damn it I was hoping Bioware would keep the June EC release. Now it seems it would be either July or later.
This. So very much....Jamie9 wrote...
A month. A month and maybe Mass Effect 3 won't leave such a bad taste in my mouth. Just one more month. Come on, BioWare, don't fail me now.
