I had to fix my computer but I lost my charater, is there away to get my saves back. without having to start a new character.  The character are on the site but not the game on my pc.

Sorry, no. Information on your characters' accomplishments are synchronized to the social network, but not the character data itself. Character data is stored only on your local machine, in a folder called My Documents > BioWare > Dragon Age > Characters.
