True,Therum is a glorifed uncharted world and Liara's a dull JRPG-esque social retard school girl.

And I have no problem with that.
IMO games these days need to get bigger and more ambitious - put some actual stress on my system. Maybe one day I'll have to dedicate a harddrive to a single game. Now that game would be amazing. The amount of content in it would keep me entertained forever.

But yeah, money, time and lack of likelihood of many eventuallities resulted in not every eventuality being catered for.

I doubt they had a plot flag set for when you recruited Liara.

I like Liara as a character in Mass Effect games. So what she acts like a school girl in the first game. In the second game she was cold, distend and brash. In the third game she is almost human and start getting little too close. I know she saved Shepard in ME2 and he or she is very thankful for that. Some of my Shepard's likes her and some don't. With the some don't I find it unconformable when she get close.

In ME3 I get her team up with Javik most of the time because of the banter between those two.

If you recruit Liara late in the game you get different dialogue from her than you would otherwise, so it does make sense to recruit her later

Well, that's what you get. They messed with the ending and I'm also upset by it.

But turning every goddamn stone just to look for another fault is getting ridiculous.

Bit harsh to expect them to cover daft little eventualities like this as well. There's bigger inconsistencies worthy of attention.

Liara's the Shadow Broker, dude, she should not only know of dead Wrex but have thoughts and feeling over him too. It is her job, after all.

Honestly, I can forgive a scripting error like this. It's just a bit of throwaway dialogue that doesn't really affect anything.
It just seems worse than it is because there are so many other problems with the game.

Rescuing Liara dead last in ME1 and then being as rude as possible to her still gives me the giggles. Her brain just about explodes from the repeated traumas of 1: being stuck in the bubble for so long, 2: being suddenly yelled at, and 3: having 90% of her research rendered irrelevant all within a very short time frame.

No wonder Bioware and other developers now make games that are more linear because people just like to complain for the sake of complaining.

Yeah that must be the reason lol

This is why the whole backlash worries me since Bioware is the only company that does what they do.

Another case where Bioware didn't create unique dialogue for that eventuality. Garrus still talks about being there during the hunt for Saren even if you didn't recruit him in ME1. I can't remember exactly what, but I believe there's some shenanigans with Legion/his replacement's dialogue if you handed him over to Cerberus in ME2.

EDIT: upon further consideration, I'm fairly sure that there wasn't a flag for when in ME1 Liara was released from her bubble, so there's no way Bioware could have known which players to trigger a non-Wrex line for. Even had they wanted to.

There is a flag, actually. If you take too long to recruit Liara in ME1 (as in, after Virmire and everything else except her and Ilos) then she gets extra dialogue where she thinks she is hallucinating and such.

This dialogue ONLY triggers after Virmire, Feros, and Noveria are done.

I notice a gameplay error in ME3.
I was up to the last part of rescuing the female Krogan when that Atlas Mech dropped in. I heard Wreav saying 'If that Female dies there will be no support.' I had Liara (because of the Shadowbroker joke) and Javik with me. After what Wreav said Liara say 'This Krogan is not very nice I miss Wrex.'

Hold it. In Mass Effect I kill Wrex in Vamire before I pick up Liara. How could she know Wrex?

You're supposed to pick up Liara first.  Also, you're not supposed to kill Wrex.  Bioware games are about playing the story the way they want you to, not your own way.  It's like a multiple choice test, not a choose your own adventure.  The correct answer is "Paragon".  Always.

This would be viable if she wasn't so bad at it. ^_^

Considering how much ME1-referencing dialogue Garrus has (I recall him bragging to Vega that he helped take down Saren and Tali reminding him about how she killed more geth on Ilos than he did) when he can be skipped in that game, I'd consider that a bigger issue than this.

Wrong. It's called lack of continuity due to incompetence.

I totally agree. I always wait until I've done everything else to recruit Liara, I wish you didn't have to get her at all. Same thing with Merril from DA2, why can't we skip these wastes of space?

Honestly, doing Therum as the last core world mission before Ilos is ****ing ridiculous!

Even if you dislike Liara.

What if he carried forward the save file from his first play through of ME1?  How could he have known the best order to do the missions in without having looked at a guide first?

If Wrex dies on Virmire, then he never really goes on to do anything notable.  He was a mercenary and a former leader of a Krogan clan.  He would be about as important as the thousands of faceless Cerberus mooks that Shepard killed in ME3 and would not be worth the Shadow Broker's attention.  While still alive, he might have been noteworthy to the Yahg Shadow Broker because he was a good mercenary, but Liara doesn't become the Shadow Broker for a few years after Wrex would have been killed.

This.

Even though you are giving the option of doing Therum last, it doesn't make any sense if you do.

Seriously? You guys are asking this type of question again?

It's unbelievably obvious. It's the same answer for half of all the other questions like why does everyone know Liara is the shadowbroker.

Are you just trolling OP?

Please tell me you know the answer to your own question. Stop making stupid threads.
