Unfortunate for Italy, the injuries killed them when they were gaining momentum.

It was Germany 0-0 Portugal and Germany won after extra time. Curiously exactly as I predicted...

Congratulations to a phenomenal Spain team.

I wonder what the odds are for them to win the next World Cup?

Spain is the European Champion 2012, after the EC of 2008 and the WC of 2010 they are the first country to take a triple
Congratulations Spain, with only 1 goal against, once again the best team

Congratulations to OBaka, with 130 points the new football prophet

That is really lucky man, a perfect predicted match on a draw, you don't see that often..

Um...Congrats, Obaka. Lets all forget everything else entirely and concentrate on this momentous victory.

We could do one for the Olympics football I suppose but I'm not sure if there's any interest in that at all. It seems like a bit of a debacle.

There is never much interest in Olympic football. I myself don't give it much attention because I think they should cancel it as an Olympic sport. With the WC football beiing pretty much the biggest sporting event after the Olympics they don't need football on the Olympics as well..

I usually watch pretty much every single event except football and hockey but this year I'm on holiday during the Olympics so I won't see much.

If they are going to have football at the Olympics it should be amatures or something. It really has no business being there. I never watch anything at the Olympics to be honest, I find running without a ball infront of you or something chasing you to be rather boring.

In two years Cerrydd you're going down the hard way. The challenge has been issued.

Is it even possible for me to go down even harder than I did this year? :P

The Olympics don't interest me. Sports don't interest me, period. The EC and WC football are an exception :)

Oh yes, in two years time you will smile at how good this year was. :P I'm starting the mind games early.

What did everyone think of the tournament as a whole? I got kind of bored with it towards the end to be honest. Spain were good to watch for the first two games but then it got really old for me. I prefer to watch rapid counter attacking with wingers, not one team trying to bore another to death with a team of central midfielders.

I didn't see a great deal of it...... What I did see wasn't brilliant, but then that's typical of my football viewing experience. England got as far as what I would have expected in all honesty. Germany crumbled unexpectedly. Not even sure what happened with the Netherlands.

Give it to Spain though, they play in a manner which suits them and gets them the result.

What a tournament; Spain have done the treble, OBaka wins the pool and is the new football messiah of the off-topic forum and JRCHOharry beat Druss again.

Whenever there's an international tournament on I usually get into the group games. 2-3 games a day on TV is pretty swank so my interest is kept up until the knockout stages where I usually just get bored of it and then don't care who wins and who advances, this year's has been no different.

I was the exact same this time, Sparrow. Normally I'm still interested until the end, I think I got fed up because most of my tournament bets went down the crapper early and alot of the quarter final matches were all completely one sided, then the semi's were a bit boring.

Ah well 6 weeks until the season starts.

I thought it was a great tournament, in the group stages we got lots of teams playing on the offensive, all trying to advance, resulting in some really unexpected results. I enjoyed those matches.
The knockouts were a big more boring, especially the Spain matches who showed that during the entire tournament only played on 50% of their capabilities

But it's over again, now its time to watch the Tour de France, after that the Olympics and then a few weeks later the Eredivisie starts again..

I finally managed to write in this topic :P

loloLOL at Italy!
They couldn't even play in second half.
I knew these facts: Italy's Defense isn't strong, Balotelli and two other forwards of Italy score by their chance and speed, and Spain is the superior team in every aspect, maybe equal in goalkeeper.

I'm 4th, not bad. I suppose I couldn't simply be 2nd with few better predictions.
