It was pure freaking luck we won our first euro match againts Netherlands.

I agree with @Merci357, it should have being a draw atleast.

They had sooo many chances againts us i lost count of it.

Cheap Win for us.

Edit: Also another reason its a cheap win, is due to we played absolutely terrible in our defense, it was just laughable most of the time watching.

Well.. looking at statistics on uefas page we get 28 shots from netherlands and 8 shots from denmark.

However..

Shots on targets by both teams: 8.

So it wasn't as un-even as you make it out to be. :wizard:

I'm just really really sad that Oranje lost............Image IPB.

Sorry for the Danish on this thread but Oranje would have won this game if they had more luck. All their attempts just failed (and they had a LOT).....

Next game against Germany......A victory today would have been very good for morale........

Damn, Netherlands just couldn't get passed Denmark defense.

Also 1st half of Germany - Portugal was boring.
Barely anything happen until last few minutes.

LOL, girly thing to mention (even though my boyfriend noticed it before I did mwuhaha): Ronaldo changed his hair during the break. He looked like a slick bastard during the first half and now is hair is pointy.

Clearly a "There's something about Mary" moment.

I'd like to join in, if it's alright. Not too fussed about the score thing it's up to you OP if you want to include me.

(10/06)

Game 5: Spain 2 - 1 Italy

Game 6: Republic of Ireland 0 - 2 Croatia

(11/06)

Game 7: France 1 - 0 England

Game 8: Ukraine 1 - 2 Sweden

EDIT: And Germany are 1-0 up at the moment, nice header by Gomez. Definitely kicked the game back into life.

I would expect 40 points if I was informed enough of 2011/12 football! But 15 points is very good for now.
I also realized Ronaldo's Hairstyle changed from 30s mode to a 2000s mode!

No problem, I've included your predictions for this round.

0-1... Lesson in efficiency, we had enough opportunities,, now it's going to be really hard to advance to the next round.

Germany - Portugal, the first real clash of big names and the most boring match so far.. I guess the most positive thing you can say about it is that everybody here got their first points..

We should add predictions for how often Ronaldo fixes his hair during matches and in what styles.

Danish Pete is delighted with cheesey 1-0 wins. I think the only three good things to come from yesterday were Gomez' header, the Danish guy dummying several Dutch defenders for the goal and Sniejder's through ball to Huntelaar that unfortunately wasn't converted.

 cheesey wins.

A team playing as a team and tactically smart is 'cheesy' ?

Sounds more like salty tears than anything else, tbh.

To me, the problem for Netherlands seemed more of the caliber that some of their people were playing less for the team and more for themselves, which is why they ended up loosing to a team of teamplayers.

^And lack of concentration in executing their attacks.

It's like pressure take them over.

I'm out of this, this time. But I agree with a Pool about CR. How many times he looks at himself at the big screens and how many times he fixes his hair!

Anyone seen Brazil x Argentina yesterday? Great game.. with our olympic team learning that you don't leave Messi alone...

Miaow. Yes, the other team being inept does not make you tactically smart. Neither team played particularly well, Denmark just happened to take one of their chances. There's nothing wrong with winning that way, a wins a win, but don't try to make it something its not.

I heard it was 4-3 and Messi scored a hattrick, Rage. I've yet to see the highlights though.

So it's a draw.

Italy gave a good show, now I'm fearing for Croatian chances.

Great match, I hope Croatia - Ireland have good one as well.

Good match. Some great through passes for the two goals, Spain looked alot more threatening with a striker. It's unfortunate that striker was Torres. Not sure if Italy were just tired by that point or having directness and a focal point changed things up.

If Ireland play like they usually do then the next match could be like watching paint dry.

Good match .. what a pity Spain didn't win.

It seems Spain have serious problem in forward line, caused by lack of David Villa.

It was a good match.
But I am really impressed by Italy. They were much stronger than I thought.
Anyway, congratulations to JRCHOharry and Merci357, as they have predicted the correct result. ;)

Now I am looking forward to Ireland - Croatia.
And Croatia is already in the lead...that was fast.

1st half Croatia - Ireland 2:1

U BOJ, U BOJ, ZA NAROD SVOJ!

This was a great first half for both sides!
I hope second will continue like this!

I smell my another 5 points.

BTW, just seen highlight.

That Jelavić's goal was not in offside.
Irish player kicked the ball into his own palyer, which then got to Jelavić.

Croatia have been the better team easily.

Did anyone else hear a whistle before Ireland's goal? I thought the ref was blowing for a freekick and it could have put the Croatian defenders off.
