Would like my prediction to be true for that game for selfish reasons.... Anyway...good luck on your exam, Kimo.

Danish Pete is excited about the prospects of another 3 points.

Ronaldo hair predictions, he comes out with it kind of spikey but finishes the game going bald and having a full combover.

I'm sitting on the fence (rather comfortably) and going for a draw which I'll end up regretting as I can see there being plenty goals with Germany getting the edge, but I'm sticking with my choice.

Do the Danes have it in them to get another victory tonight?

I went for a 1-0 Portugal win yesterday thinking that one of Portugal's big players had to show up. But I've a funny feeling about Denmark today, I think they might nick another 1-0 and be the tournaments surprise package.

Recognizing that the concept of nationality is imprecise and fluid with respect to context, I'm just curious how "German" Mario Gomez is?

Then again, looking at the French team the past 15 years, one might suspect that Senegal is as integral to the country as Ile de France.

How Portugese is Christian Eriksen? He seemed to be playing for them today, because every time he got the ball he played it straight to a Portugese player.

German mother, Spanish father. Born and raised in Germany, Riedlingen (near Stuttgart) to be exact.
Im curious, though, why do you ask? If you'd ask this question about Mesut Özil, Sami Khedira or Jerome Boateng, I'd understand. But regarding Gomez, the only thing "foreign" about him (from a german perspective) is indeed his family name.

My congratulations to Germany, you played perfectly against the never-changing tactics of Van Marwijk

The Netherlands has great players and it is even possible to make them play together if only Van Marwijk had learned anything out of the last 6-7 matches..
Yes, this tactic worked on the WC, we became 2nd with it, but the football itself was horrible to watch sometimes, we got so far because all the players had a great season before that and because they played with a lot of new tricks. It worked than, but that doesn't mean it works now.. every team learned the tricks of Robben, everybody knows he always goes inside.

It was horrible to watch, nobody moved even an single meter, the midfield never advanced along the forwards, the wings were completely ignored almost every attack went straight through the centre. The defence were on a zone-defence with nobody knowing what their zone was, the forwards of Germany constantly were able to find all the space they needed between 4 Dutch defenders...

We could have won against Germany had Van Marwijk changed his tactics and begun with the team that he had in the second half. Hunterlaar as deep forward, Kuyt and Narsingh on the wings with Van Persie behind them and V/d Vaart and Sneijder in the midfield.

Theoreticly it's still possible for The Netherlands to advance if we win from Portugal with at least 2 goals difference and Germany beat Denmark but they have to wake up and start wanting to win.

While watching it I kept asking myself "How is Van Bommel still in this team?" then I heard he was the managers son in law and it clicked. He used to be a very good player but now he just looks laboured and is a red card waiting to happen. Surely they don't need him and De Jong against most teams.

Die Holländer haben verloren!

The Netherlands team was undisciplined and its players had much ego (pointing at Roben). Their disqualification was inevitable.

Nothing specific about Gomez or Germany, he just happened to be the one player of many in the tourny who didn't fit the streotypical mold of the team he plays for.  In fact - Ich weiss nur ein bisschen ueber Fussball aber Ich feuere fuer Deutschland und Italien.

10 points for me, OBaka, Sparrow and Sjpel...the person with the Dutch sounding name that I haven't a hope of spelling(sorry, I'm doing this in the edit post screen and can't even scroll up to check ). I think OBaka might be shooting into the lead after this round, thats a couple of correct one's he has managed.

Croatia had a big improvement in the second half and deserved a point. Great freekick from Pirlo. In the last couple of years of watching Balotelli, I've yet to see what all the hype is about. He looks a good player but not brilliant, certainly not good enough to make up for his antics. Like a poor mans Ibrahimovich.

I have no idea why, but I just put money on a Torres hattrick. I sense I'm going to regret that.

hattrick is doubtful. I could see a brace maybe. But think Spain will only win 2-0. Then again I thought Italy would beat Croatia 2-1. I haven't been right very much this Euro except about the Dutch.

Personally I'm still waiting for that pear..... Mind you, I have gotten into the spirit of this prediction malarky by shouting at the TV to tell teams to score or not to score (whatever benefits me) or I will use very bad language directed towards them.....

Ah, thats where I'm going wrong, OBaka, I resort to the foul language after things go wrong.

You win this round.

F*ckin bollocks Fabregas, I don't think I could have hated him anymore than I currently do, but he managed to annoy me yet again. If he hadn't scored I'd have picked up another 10 points and doubled my bookies winnings from £26 to £52.

Silva and Iniesta are a joy to watch though, I'm still confused why Barca went for Fabregas rather than Silva. Xavi is equally as good but his style isn't quite as pleasing on the eye, but what a player he is.
