I'm going to give a few examples of what may or may not be kill steals. I want your guys opinions on what is and what is not.

1.) I see a Vorcha shooting an Assault Trooper. He gets him to half health before he has to reload. The Trooper starts shooting at the Vorcha, so I finish him off.

2.) An AA is trying to set off a Biotic Explosion on a Marauder. The Maruders shields are down, but it's health is full. The AA hits them with Warp, but their throw gets dodged. I finish the Maruder off.

3.) Two Adepts are beating the crap out of an Atlas. I'm helping with my sniper. I take the last bars of health off and get credit for the kill.

4.) Two Guardians are harrasing a Soldier. He's holding his own though. I sneak behind the Gurdians and pop them both quickly.

What are your guys thoughts?

1) is fine... the vorcha didn't use the chance to melee (if it was at long range i'd probably call it a kill-steal)
2) Kill steal, unless there was NOBODY around the marauder.
3) Not a kill steal... for using melee they were being a little silly.
4) No.

it's a poor excuse for a poor performance in this game.

By "beat the crap out them" I mean hitting him with a lot of Biotic Explosions.

Oh yeah, kill steals are a big problem in a co-op game.

Should I report all the engineers who screw my biotic explosions when I use warp on an enemy?

I'ts fine when there's only one engineer, I can still use two throws, but when there's three engineers using drain/ol on my warpedtarget, it sucks. And they always wait until the target is warped.

I don't understand people even discussing a 'kill steal'. You work together, you have to finish the enemies as quickly as possible and you all get the same score. There is no such thing as a 'kill steal'. It's called 'teamwork'. If people don't understand the principle of this game they should play CoD or do a solo run.

There are no kill steals in ME3 multiplayer, it is a co-op game.

1. might be a kill steal, but the vorcha should have been close enough to melee if they needed the kill
2. might be a kill steal depending on where the rest of the team is, and if a bioplosion would have killed multiple enemies. make that might be bad teamwork
3. not a kill steal, you were helping the whole time
4. not a kill steal, that's helping a teammate out

Aslong as it's dead it doesn't really matter. Best example in my case: stasis + random infiltrator headshot = no more phantom <3

Now I suppose everyone is going to complain about kill stealing and all the wah wah wah that goes with it. If it's not nerfing or farming... now it's kill stealing! I thought this was a team game. You get the same credits no matter who gets the kill. XP & N7 rank don't really matter in this game and I think the point that BioWare was trying to get across in MP is to just have fun.

Here's a question... How come nobody seems to complain about your team stealing your kill in the single player?

Complaining about a kill steal in ME3 Co-op is like someone complaining about a kill steal in an indoor instance in WoW (or any other mmo for that matter).

None of those are kill steals. We shouldn't even have to use that term in a coop game I swear that is ridiculous. Unless you are intentionally tailing someone shooting everything they do intentionally, killing other people's targets when you see them isn't kill stealing. That's stupid.

There's no such thing as a kill steal in this game. There just isn't. All of your scenarios are perfectly within the terms of the game. There is only one fundamental metric in multiplayer: Is everything dead?

A kill steal is the fallowing:

1) Shooting that enemy a krogan was about to melee kill
2) Killing a vorchas target
3) You kill the biotic explosion primed target
4) Shooting that enemy with 1 health bar over the enemy flanking your teammate that was full health just so you can increase your epeen in game

Killing an enemy without first asking my permission, via microphone, is kill stealing.

Since score doesn't matter, kill stealing doesn't really exist in this game.

unless your a vorcha, why do we worry about kill stealing?
firstly the your score is based on damage done, and on gold, a 'kill steal' could be actually be saving someone's life.

1) is fine, he should have heavy melle him. if he was lunging to do an HM and you took it mid air thats kinda crappy though lol

2 is a kill steal if there is an enemy next to the maurader that could have been damaged by a BE. also the throw cooldown is almost instant. he would have hit him right after the dogde

3 only a steal if your waiting for 1 bar left before you take the kill shot. if you just shooting at every chance you get and you land the kill shot its not a steal

4 perfectly fine. always take any opportunity to get a guardian from behind.

But kill stealing isn't a big deal in multiplayer unless you keep killing warped targets purposly for kills and they cna't set off a BE. other then that everything is fair game

Ah yes, "Kill steals". Finishing off the enemy allegedly taking XP from your teammate. Ah, we have dismissed that claim.

Its a team game. Do you think somewhere there is a Navy SEAL ****ing about the other guy getting the headshot in on Bin Laden? No.

meh. i might inadvertently "steal" a kill on every wave. not to pad score or any of that bs, but because it is the enemy and it is up.

by the same token i also get a kill "stolen" on pretty much every wave. i am not going to get upset if someone blasts a husk that is attempting to dry hump me or finish off a mob my reave/grenade combo has done 90% of the work towards.

winning > personal stats.

and the quicker the win, the less in-game consumables used, the better.
