oh noes!!! invisible bowstrings!;)

and btw, this mage has enough sense to realize the value of rogues; We are the brains and firepower, you are the eyes and ears, (and other body parts if the need arises), and together we could be invincible! We cannot be vinced! (i've always wanted to say that!:P)

anyway, :wizard: + = awesome

Alright! a wise mage! Image IPB

Invisible bowstrings rock! They're harder to defend against if they can't be seen! Image IPB

Wow, the rogues really get no respect around here. It makes one seem that your Mage-like view on rogues, is like the dirt on your boot heel you dont even expend the energy to wipe off???

I feel a very good and friendly competition arising from all of this. I for one would be willing to do some PvP!!!! Obviously there is no possibility for that yet, but one can hope?

So, how to resolve this conflict, and where to draw the lines. The warrior class can decided which side to take, but regardless what i say we do, is once the game comes out we start comparing stats, and see how many high-lvls in each respective class there are and go from there. I could write a program in C++ to do simulations of character battles, if we have access to any code from DA, specifically that pertaining to battles.

I love competition, and have gained many friends over the years by competing against one-another. Its important to remember though that this is all friendly, and should remain so. Its just interesting that a Mage vs. Ranger/rogue rivalry always or most of the time develops in fantasy games. This is what makes this forum so great!

Rogues still all the way!!!!!
------------>Oh and if we did run out of arrows, we would start strangling you hypo critic mages with our bowstrings ;)

Frankly I was only partaking for the lulz. I for one enjoy playing through all classes in rpgs. (Though mages are my favorite.) But if anyone is truly taking the class rivalry seriously, they really need to grow up about 15 years. I can understand not enjoying other classes. But to personally dislike them, what the hell is the point of that? :P

I'm awesome, I know:)

but seriously, rogues are my second favorite class; if I can't zap mooks with lightning, then I'll sneak up behind them, and attack their inviting backs, [Fallout 3 (actually, I shoot them in the head) ], and in TES III: Morrowind, and TES IV: Oblivion, I'll play a fusion type, heavy on the magicks with some sneakiness and bow and arrows mixed in for maximum enjoyment, 'cuz Oblivion is the only game that you get to be a REAL thief i.e. you steal, sell to a fence, and go on commisioned jobs.

and this is waaaay off topic, but why is there 2 "thief-ish" smilies:bandit::ph34r:, one wizard:wizard:, but no warrior? Am I the only one that noticed?

Yeah, what HeathenKing wrote. Mages are not the only class I play. Just my current favorite. I actually started off with warriors, then became addicted to archers of any class, and so on. I tend to rotate between classes in cycles. The whole rivalry commentary earlier was for kicks. ;)

But then, if my companions defend me well, I have the best overview on every situation and able to turn the tide of battle if I make the right decisions. This adds allot depth to combat!"

Image IPB Maphesta: "Hehe. You look in the wrong direction and my blade takes the life of you as it slides through your cloth and into your neck. Of course I'd never do that to you, Fyra. Don't worry."

I'm similar. I like all 3 archetypes, but my home archetype is Warrior. Image IPB

I was figuring as long as we can keep our sparring civil, then it might be a fun way to pass the time till game release. (& I need all the help with the time passing that I can get, for i'm poor irl & have to hope I can get DA:O as a christmas present. I won't be able to run out & get it on Nov. 3rd. Image IPB I hope My puder runs it ok. Fortunately, the CC at least, has been performing on my puder well, which gives me some hope.)

I fully agree with the audacity of the lack of warrior emoticon. As a band-aid fix, I've been using this one in it's place: Image IPB

I quite like rogues, in fact, whenever I get the chance I pick up a few rogue skills myself (I always have at least one rogue/mage, it works out pretty well). All one needs to do is learn stealth enough so that they can sneak into the right position, detonate a spell, and slip back into the shadows amidst the chaos and... get away before they see you. Great way to cause chaos and mayhem.

Well, this old boy has fired off a few fireballs, lol. His namesake started out in Baulder's Gate and went through NWN2. Also did a little time in Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion. Now he is really looking forward to meeting some interesting NPCs in DA:O.

Indeed. Our warriors are the blade, our mages are the fire, the rougles our eyes and ears and us templars are the shield (and policeImage IPB ). The Blight shall fall before our combined might!

I wonder if shapeshifter plus spirit hlr would be more effective than blood magic and arcane warrior.. I heard spirit hlr adds a passive regeneration, might come in handy with shapeshifter. hmm I wish I new the spells for the specializations.

There I have represented.

Good rogues don't know how to lower their guard! Image IPB While your laughing at our 'destruction', we're sneaking around to your back to one shot your laughing, off-guard back! Image IPB

'They're', is used anytime it is correct to use 'they are', for 'they're' is a contraction of 'they are'. Image IPB

'There' is used when indicating a location. Image IPB

'Their' is harder to explain. I'm not sure how to explain the usage of this one. Image IPB

Fun fact: I have less than stellar grammar power. Image IPB

we all know good rogues can skate across water by putting little boats on their boots

thnx for the grammar lesson; I knew how to use them already, I just put that in for (my own) lulz; a 26 yr. old english major that fudged up their they're/their/there usage was kinda funny to me

Now I will reciprocate:
Their – pronoun; a form of the possessive case of they used as an attributive adjective, before a noun: their home; their rights as citizens; their departure for Rome

dictionary.reference.com/browse/their <- yayy for dictionary.com

Their is the possessive. Like, "Their cheese is running away! Catch it! FOR THE LOVE OF THE MAKER CATCH IT!" or "Their weakness shall be our strength!"

Like you said in the post above me. Huh. Teaches me to skim over stuff.

Magic people, i mean MAGIC.
Nothing beats casting fireballs smack in the face of opponents and watch them wither in flames.

MUHAHA.

Besides when i think magic the first thing that comes to mind is Raistlin.
Nothing can beat Raistlin besides his own ambition :)

Funny. Image IPB I Image IPB dictionary.com. I used it just today. I just figured if I had looked up 'their' in it, then it woulda been cheating. (That's my story & i'm stickin to it!) I've even gotten sick & tired of having to go to the site via a search & finally got my lazy bum to bother taking the two seconds it would take to bookmark the site so I can save myself some trouble. They have blood magic so they are similar to the Tremere and the Tremere rocks.
