Did you hear the uncut dialogue with Anderson on the Citadel?
Really, that would have been the perfect epilogue if they just ended it right there.

About being a father and such?  That's not uncut, you have to be single throughout all 3 games.

Really? My main FemShep was single throughout all 3 and I didn't get that dialogue.

Weird, it's been tested to work with MaleShep, huh.  I'll test it out sometime with a FemShep.

Personally, that scene gave me a sense of peace. The ending lacks closure, but with proper closure added by the EC, I would gladly see that scene at the end of the credits again and feel satisfyied.

The ending you suggest would be one of the most standard and boring endings ever. ME Trilogy Ending deserves much better than "standardized-hollywood-stamp".

I'd rather they just retcon the whole Catalyst bull**** and spend their budget on showing us how our decisions affect the world of ME, instead of trying to turn that nonsensical crap into something coherent.
Because that's all that Mass Effect ever was: you decide what you do and what role you play, and see the consequences of your actions. Plus great characters. Nothing more than that. If the ending had just showed us what kind of impact we had on that world and give us closure on all the characters, nobody would have even asked for some deep and meaningful ending.
But now we got this terribly cliché "artistic" crap that doesn't fit into the series, one big forcedly meaningful decision that turns everything else that has ever happened in the series completely irrelevant and no closure on any of the characters whatsoever.

It'd be better than pretentious nonsensical bullsh*t that virtually no one likes though, wouldn't it?

Thank god we didn't get anythying like that, imagine the uproar.

Truth. I'll take boring and generic over nonsensical and masquerading as art any day of the week.

The storys we never forget are those that leave us happy and fulfilled inside. ME3's ending left me empty and depressed. And pissed off.

Really, if you say that the ending would have been "standardized-hollywood-stamp" if it didn't include space magic, you're saying that the whole series was "standardized-hollywood-stamp" because it never had space magic, either.
Well, other than biotics. But that's part of ME's pseudo-science.

"Keep doing"? I would say "start doing a" and also I am not part of that "we" ^

I really found the old man/child scene to be jarring and unneccesary. I do not know why you would want more.

the only thing that scene does is make you feel like everything you accomplished in the game really was worthless in the end. Your story is at best forgotten in the depths of time, and everybody loses, except the reapers they got what they wanted (if you pick control or synthesis). add to that the scene makes absolutely no sense and you got the final slap in the face just before the kick in the nuts that is the "BUY MOAR DLC" message... disgusting.

No. No, no, no!

The reason that scene is so horrible is because it turns the entire series into...something it isn't. We never really knew Shepard, or Liara, or Garrus, or Tali. It was all just some crap a senile old man made up. And guess what? They're long dead. They've been dead for hundreds of years. Or they never existed in the first place.

Sweet bloody dreams.

As I said in other threads, that scene doesn't imply that the whole trilogy is a story. It just tells you that in a distant future Shepard and is mission to save the Galaxy has become a legend, some kind of fairy tale that keeps the Shepard name in the mouth of every one. It's just to tell you that your Shepard will not be forgotten.

Nowhere it is said that Buzz just finished telling the entire life of Shepard, he just told his nephew A story about Shepard.

I really don't have any problem with it, so they tell stories of Shepard in the future, cool beans. It everything that happened before that peeves me.

So is this what were doing? We pick a random aspect of the game and make a support thread for it?

I just realised how hilarious this thread title is. Like there was a mad rush of people at the end trying to stop the Stargazer from talking.
