Someone dies to a turret.

Everyone but me runs to revive that person.

They die.

Then I die because I have every enemy focusing on me.

This.  And I am, on occasion, guilty I being casualty number 2.

Turrets = enemy no 1.  Really it's turrets and phantoms working together that make Cerberus a challenge.

1- people that run out into the open like idiot

2- people that refuse to use rockets at wave 9 when there's 3 banshees and 2 brutes surrounding us

3- tech casters that keep using overload on brutes when i already threw my warp on them and im trying to trigger a BE,in which overload cancels my warp

so what are your reasons for sometimes failing gold?

4. People who fail to understand how combos work... <_<

1. Totally unskilled players who join a Gold lobby just to be carries and earn credits (this include every possible.... "unwise", just to stay polite, action human mind can conceive. The list would be endless)

2. Bad luck. When you already have 1. and you got hacking objective on LZ of Firebase White and phantoms spawn behind the "geniuses" that rushed to the hacking zone without A) providing suppression fire B) driving at least several enemies away from hacking zone; you know you are about to fail.

The number one reason I fail in Gold is.. The A Button on my xbox controller.

At least you use the device that the system was designed for. I'm using a QWERTY-keyboard and a gaming mouse that alone has 12 buttons. Yet, everything is mapped to my, after a few months of play quite beaten up, space bar.

I've been looking at the coalesed file in the game, and it looks like you are in fact able to mob keys by changing the game files - remapping powers to other than the assigned 1, 2 or 3 keys for classes and so forth. I am however a but reluctant risking a ban for, at least on paper, using a modded game for multiplayer...

OP: You blamed other people and I understand that, but my question to you is:

Do you ever fail? If so, how?

What are you talking about? I just watched Star Wars for the first time. Darth Vader killed Luke's dad, they were like friends or something and then Darth Vader murdered lukes dad. Obi Wan told him so and Obi Wan would not lie.

Also I can't wait for Luke to hook up with Leia, match made in heaven. Also I bet anything those bounty Hunters never catch up to Han Solo, he has the fastest ship in the Galaxy, to fast for bounty hunters.

I completely understand the cynicism and the elitism now that I've cut my teeth on Gold. Other people are often liabilities. It's to the point where I can only play with friends. Random players are so very bad, it's astonishing how they manage to do so poorly.

I think the #1 reason is having too many teammates like the op. it is clear from his ignorance of the tech/biotic burst triggers that he is still new and inexperienced at me3 let alone gold. The inability to quickly eliminate threats, unable to use soft cover, scared of non immediate threats (banshees ), rookie revival techniques and shoddy objective techniques all add to doomed missions.

Here's a tip, if you are playing in a gold match and you can't survive a single wave, perhaps you decision to camp the Mining site on condor may not be so wise. First, check out score board and locate the teammate that is dominating the score. The select him/her to view in spectator mode as you're most like dead early in wave. Observe them on the upper ridge. How they effectively kill stuff. Watch the order. Ie ignores 2 banshees and focuses on marauders/cannables/ravagers and brutes. Watch how they seemingly dodge bullets and move quickly around the map. Use your mic and ask this golden god how you can help, where you should be, etc. ie don't join gold thinking your bronze/silver ways are any good.

Re: double Throwing Warped armor: Overload is insta-cast, meaning a well spec'd engy (like the GE with HM w/power recharge) can re-overwrite your Warp before your 2nd Throw travels to it's target and do so repeatedly. The people bashing the AA/HS players over this need to broaden their perception just a little before resorting to mud slinging.

Geth rocket troopers. No matter when I side step I can't seem to avoid being hit.

And when a teammate doesn't understand that he's an agro for the enemy and ends up bring in three or four targets right up our rear flank while the rest of us are focused on taking out a boss. Good times being killed by a mook just after taking down a prime/banshee/atlas/etc.

I fail when my teammates suck. No teammates = no fail. I solo gold with the Drell Vanguard. Revenant & Widow.

Yes, I'm just that good.

yeah I am seeing this a lot. With two engineer "teammates" (with Krysaes, no less) recently, I scored in the 40k range for a gold match with my AA. Usually in the 80-90 range. I swear I had like 6-8 biotic explosions the whole match.

I don't think anybody's suggesting this doesn't require some diligence on the part of the Engineer, but it mostly seems to be the Biotic players that don't understand how this works, not the other way around. Communicate with your team, and if you can't due to a lack of mics or the Engie player just doesn't listen, just only fling Warp when its duration runs out and spam Throw instead for faster Tech Bursts. Better some combos than no combos.

For me:  Mainly because too much playing Bronze and Silver has developed poor habits of not using cover properly, and not recognizing when running is the best option until it's too late.

as ascerbic  as your post sounds....looking at the manifest you are probably right....

the main reason ic failures on gold, hands down, is the rush to revive. One person goes down (from idiotic moves or not), someone rushes in to revive without thinking/looking, and that person goes down. Third goes over - down. 4th is usally hosed . Hell even if the 3rd doesn't go down, if the two remaining are poorly positioned and/or are support (i.e.not infiltrtors or other survive class) then it is pretty easy to fail at this point.

Take care of business first, then revive, from cover if possible.

Thats why an AA should have 200% cool down and should not be toting that claymore/black widow.  Few engineers can cast overload 2.29 sec recharge vs 1.23 sec for throw. Spamming throw is only surpassed by spamming pull in recharge speed.

This is exactly why I enjoy my Turian Sentinel so much. His Turian racial makes him extremely proficient with assault rifles...in fact, when playing him I spec for maximum weapon damage and play him like a soldier for the first few levels. Once I get warp and overload, I spam warp if I'm with a biotic-heavy team, or overload if I'm with a tech-heavy team. My buddies and I often split into fire-teams of two...and my TSe's broad spectrum of abilities makes him a perfect pair for just about any class.

I have the most fun when I'm a team player. When I play gold on my TSe, I usually get either gold or silver medals for kill, assault rifle kills, melee kills, assists, and revives. Sometimes biotic or tech kills, depending on the circumstances.

The Turian Sentinel is an incredibly well-rounded and balanced class in my opinion.
