too late to join in the fun?

Having read some of the threads it would appear that crap teammates are definitely a gripe with a lot of people. I'm not bad with the controls of the game, but obviously there is a big difference between the SP & MP, & I'm guessing it will take some getting used to. With that said, are there any general tips for an MP beginner? Also, is someone with a low rank frowned upon in a lobby? I'm conscious there is a player kick option in the MP.
Sorry for all the Q's, wanted to get the opinion of people with the experience. Thanks.

Other than that, keep in mind that if you bleed out, you will be revived at the start of the next wave (lots of new players just quit when they die, thus losing out on any rewards for the match). And when there's a Hacking objective, go into the circle with the other players. The rest you should figure out pretty quickly. There are tons of people playing on XBox, so it shouldn't be hard to get into it.
And successfully completing just a single Bronze difficulty game will rank a character up from level 1 to 6.

It's a lot like the SP except you get many enemies coming in waves and teammates.
Not too late at all, never have problems finding games, you may not get weapons quickly (I paid for some packs over time) - but they just released updates to it in the last week, so if Bioware feels good about releasing DLC for the MP then it must still have a pretty good crowd, and it doesn't cost more than the Xbox Live you probably already pay for?
Come in and have fun

Second, upgrading takes quite some time, like two or three weeks depending on how fast u adapt and have good friends to suceessfully compete in gold.
Third, come to this site often and ask for teammates. I am on PS3 and so I can't help you!
Then, when u are playing with good players, ask for tips and tricks and be humble. A lot of people like me will be happy to help because they feel like a boss.

Just start playing, and have fun. It's possible you may get kicked from some lobbies, but people kick for all sorts of stupid reasons that have nothing to do with you. Don't get upset by it.
If you run into trouble, there are a lot of people here willing to help out.

^This. I absolutely love playing with new players on Bronze. I like to help people level up, I'm not the type of competition-crazed guy that won't let new players shoot at anything without feeling the need to kill it faster, and since I can solo Bronze anyway, if things go horribly wrong at least you have one guy on the team that will almost definitely finish the wave for you and get everyone back into the game.
Edit: I am on the XBox as well, with the same Gamertag as my BSN name. Drussius.

Quick tip: play bronze for a few matches until you get the hang of things. Then play silver all weekend for the event.

My best advice is to try out different classes. They level up quite fast, so its not much of a "starting over" and there is quite a lot of diversity between them. Once you get aqquainted with the game and have build up a decent armory and skill set you can try and advance to silver difficulty, but leave gold for when you feel that you master at least one class.
People tend to not take kindly to new players in their gold lobbies - be it justified or not.

Same here! My one and only pet peeve on the subject is when players (new or old) refuse to heed my (always polite) requests to get in the Extraction Zone as the final wave is winding down to the last 15 seconds or so.
And so on that note, one more piece of advice for new players: Get in the extraction zone before the timer expires on wave 11! When anyone is outside of the LZ when the timer runs out, it means you lose out on 10,000xp. Full extraction is worth 15,000. Partial Extraction: 5,000. Three or four extra kills just isn't worth what you lose by staying out there to get them. And you can shoot stuff from inside the zone.

It'll give you a decent shot at getting good weapons/equipment right off the bat.
Looking back, I would have done it...
(assuming you've got a 'grown up' job and $30 won't matter...)
P.S.
Use a human sentinel if you want to skip ahead to harder difficulties before getting good weapons/gear.
Just warp/throw spam your way to victory.
Spec warp/throw a full 6 levels, and select biotic explosion damage whenever available.

I'm on the Xbox too and, if you don't mind playing with another new player, would be happy to team up with you.
Anyone who is looking for someone to help them out with some games can shoot me a friend request on the XBox. I may not always be free to jump into a game at any given time, but I'm on there playing ME3 MP an awful lot... Some would say I'm a bit obessive about it.

I played through the entire SP campaign before jumping on MP. Its not like CoD where you are at a huge disadvantage if you don't start leveling and learning the maps as soon as possible. Much easier learning curve, and of course fighting AI is easier to learn to counter than real people.
