too late to join in the fun?

I'll be getting involved this weekend. The recurring theme seems to be that I start out on Bronze & stick with that to build up characters & my general skill for MP.
Also the Xbox invites are very welcome & appreciated, my GT is Shizas. I'll take any advice/tips well, liking the challenge of playing the MP now.

Try out the w/e class you use in SP first on bronze.
This one should be the easiest to adapt to out of all the other classes.
Once you get good enough with bronze move on to silver for a while then try a gold run.

You might feel a little big left in the dust by people who have unlocked better weapons, gotten used to the game and built strong characters they are used to.
But play bronze and silver, stick together without crowding and you will be fine and have a lot of fun!

I'm on the Xbox too and, if you don't mind playing with another new player, would be happy to team up with you.
Anyone who is looking for someone to help them out with some games can shoot me a friend request on the XBox. I may not always be free to jump into a game at any given time, but I'm on there playing ME3 MP an awful lot... Some would say I'm a bit obessive about it.
See? It's people like you that make the community so awesome.
Yeh, the replies have been really great. Wasn't sure what reaction I'd get but good to know it's a helpful one. Also nice to see I'm not the only guy new to it.

I've played a couple in SP - Sentinel, Infiltrator & Soldier - hopefully that will stand me in good stead.

Seriously mang'
Use the Human Sentinel and warp/throw spam.
It's the only starting class that doesn't rely on equipment.
The powers alone are very destructive.
Just throw on a light pistol and don't worry about shooting it.
Human vanguard is probably better, but needs more skill to stay alive.
Human Sentinel you can just sit behind cover, hit 2 buttons and win.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes helping the new players out!
Same here! My one and only pet peeve on the subject is when players (new or old) refuse to heed my (always polite) requests to get in the Extraction Zone as the final wave is winding down to the last 15 seconds or so.
And so on that note, one more piece of advice for new players: Get in the extraction zone before the timer expires on wave 11! When anyone is outside of the LZ when the timer runs out, it means you lose out on 10,000xp. Full extraction is worth 15,000. Partial Extraction: 5,000. Three or four extra kills just isn't worth what you lose by staying out there to get them. And you can shoot stuff from inside the zone.
I've no idea what the extraction is yet, but when I get to that point I'll be sure to get my ass in the LZ!!

In MP, the Sentinel and Infiltrator are really good classes. Sentinel (Humans at least) are very effective for biotic combos, and the Infiltrators.. Well, to put it simply, if you're an Infiltrator, people will already love you haha.Shpoon wrote...

Having not read the thread I know I'm going to sound like an echo. No it is not too late to join MP (I suggest you level a power dependent class first until you get some good toys). It never takes me long to get a match (except when I'm up early and want to host so I can vanguard).
If you need help with this weekends extraction, I'm planning on helping everyone I can on xbox, hit me up (same gt as forum name).
And as a low n7 (below 120) you can expect to be booted from gold games, eyed cautiously in silver (especially if you bring an odd setup) and kicked for inactivity in bronze. If you can handle gold, bring a friend for kick protection (many people tried to kick my n7 24 cousin from fbwgg, none succeeded as they needed my vote (and really its fbwgg, and he's decoy-bot).

Thought I'd throw this out here after reading some threads in this forum. I have played SP on all 3 Mass Effect titles, however I've yet to dabble in the multiplayer of ME3. I've decided with the new challenge announced this weekend I'd get involved in multiplayer. Is it too late to be getting involved in MP at this stage, are there many even still playing the multiplayer on Xbox? Does ranking up take long?
Having read some of the threads it would appear that crap teammates are definitely a gripe with a lot of people. I'm not bad with the controls of the game, but obviously there is a big difference between the SP & MP, & I'm guessing it will take some getting used to. With that said, are there any general tips for an MP beginner? Also, is someone with a low rank frowned upon in a lobby? I'm conscious there is a player kick option in the MP.
Sorry for all the Q's, wanted to get the opinion of people with the experience. Thanks.
Best of luck to you, and dont hesitate at all to ask questions here on the forums. The worst thing that will happen to you is someone will troll you or some a-hole will harass you for not searching for answers on pre-existing threads.

I suggest you use a mic and try to make friends that can help you in you me3 mp activities. The othe day I had a n7 41 join our gold lobby, we avg 2500. Now he was a good chap and we added him. Less than a week later he was easily handling unknown gold matches. The key was a mic and lots of questions.
Good luck. Lastly, search bsn to find groups that cater to rookies.

There are 10 waves of enemies in a game. Then the 11th wave is a two-minute countdown until extraction, during which enemies spawn continuously while you wait to be picked up. There's a blue circle in which all players must be waiting (and alive) when the timer expires. You don't have to be inside the zone until the timer expires, and many players wait until there's like 20 seconds or so left before getting in the circle so they don't get swarmed, but there are a surprising number of people who just stand outside the zone and keep shooting until the timer is done. You'll see what it's about when you do a match

Thanks, I think I'll go for a sentinel or adept, been mentioned a few times. Not sure launching myself into enemies as a vanguard is appealing to me...yet! I'll stick to bronze too for the moment

Ah I get it now, makes sense. No idea why people would lose the xp sticking outside it

Check out the group in my signature! Great group of players! It'll help you round up some normal friends who you learn to play as a team with, and who are generally laid back people. I'd offer to help you out a bit in Bronze, but I'm on PC.
Thanks, I joined up & posted on the XBox thread.

Then, when u are playing with good players, ask for tips and tricks and be humble. A lot of people like me will be happy to help so they feel like a boss.
^This. I absolutely love playing with new players on Bronze. I like to help people level up, I'm not the type of competition-crazed guy that won't let new players shoot at anything without feeling the need to kill it faster, and since I can solo Bronze anyway, if things go horribly wrong at least you have one guy on the team that will almost definitely finish the wave for you and get everyone back into the game.
Edit: I am on the XBox as well, with the same Gamertag as my BSN name. Drussius.
I have no probs helping ppl either. my xbox Gt is: Atticus Batman

I haven't joined because of my wacky schedule, but both bronze effect and legion effect are great groups (I have played with a few of them) and love new playyers they can help.

Thanks again for all the tips guys. Had my first Bronze run with a Sentinel. Managed a full extraction & I was only put down once, finished 3rd on the leaderboard. No idea why I haven't delved into multiplayer until now, it was great fun! Long may it continue.
That's the spirit!
