Here's a higher res version of that Mako image...
<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>>
Front left side of the Mako has a flat tire. Geometry is wrong as the vehicle ought to lean towards the flat tire. If not flat, the geometry is still wrong. The tire is deeper into the sand than the other ones, ergo front of the Mako must lean towards its side. Yes, the Mako is on an incline. However, personal experience tells me I'm right.
The artist is good but his geometry isn't.
PS: I bet that the game, when exploring with the Mako, won't allow us to change the camera view to get a similar picture. Ergo, it's concept art. Concept art, as in DA:I's busts of the dwarves with those beautiful beards, never made it into the game. I expect similarities between DA:I and ME:A's concept art and representative video trailers that never make it into the game. Ergo, it's marketing hype. Beautiful pic though.
I'm going back into the HOI 4 trenches.

I can guarantee you they will have upgrades to the Mako that include weapon customization. Maybe two powerful cannons on top that swivel. Maybe they can make that into part of the multiplayer.

Do you mean optional upgrades? If so how can you guarantee this? I simply can't see how you can design areas or levels for vehicle gameplay when you, as the designer, doesn't know whether the player has a weapon or not. Seems a recipe for disaster if you ask me. I suspect the Mako will be like the Inquisition Horse, but probably capable of absorbing damage without dumping you.
Without knowing the details of how MPer will work, I doubt they will use the Mako there. MPer is likely to be focused on their core gameplay and that doesn't involve the Mako. If it is put in I suspect it will be a minor gimmick.

Well, I bet'cha that it'll involve some sort of crafting. As far as me guaranteeing you things, I'm just spitballing, brainstorming. I mean, you could, technically, walk into an area in DA:I without a weapon or armor. Not saying you would, but you could. Same with the Mako and crafting. You can go into an area without weapons, but why would you?

There is a big difference between a player forceably removing something and a player simply not crafting it. And even if you do remove weapons aren't you given some sort of default weapon and can still deal damage?
If you are all of a sudden going to need to engage in combat in the Mako, I think it is important it gets a weapon upgrade through a story event, it can't be optional. But in that case why not give us one to start with?

A flat... tire?
The vehicle is in sand. None of the tires are flat, there's just varying depths of sand acting like a cushion into which the tires are pressing.

The tires are probably just lightly sinking into the sand, there's no flat tires. Like Addictress said there's various depths of sand.

Yeah, I can't see vehicle combat working at all. It might be possible to ram/run over enemies with the Mako if there's gonna be random ambient creatures and encounters (which, based on tweets, I think there will be) but it would be a nightmare for the combat/encounter/level design people to have to build the game without knowing whether players are going to have a vehicle gun or not.
Agreed about MP too, based on the leaks it's all ground based stuff similar to ME3, but with a wider variety of objectives and mission types. I forget whether "remnant vault raids" are MP content or just singleplayer.

I don't see that big of a deal to be honest. You can fight every battle in ME where you where on the Mako by going off it and kill the enemies with your own guns, ever Thresher Maws.
I don't dismiss the possibility of your theory being true though, so I hope that in this case they decided to put the guns on the Mako by default.
On a vaguely related note, I wonder if with this open world system we'll be able to use sniper rifles like in ME.

I was going to say this. In my first ME1 playthrough I was crap at controlling the Mako along the gun to avoid Tresher Maw's spit and other enemies ranged attacks, so I just killed stuff on foot after disembarking. Later, I learned to run over things and shoot/move at the same time though.
I'm not sure why ElitePinecone believes encounters has to be different between Mako with gun and Mako without guns. ME1 sure didn't care about it, nothing required the Mako gun to be killed, it just made destroying stuff faster than on foot.

Right, but how many times were we given a gun in ME? A ton. I'm more than willing to bet you that this is the beginners Mako. What are they gonna do? Show off the end Mako? Tick off a ton of people just starting the game? There is a big difference between a player forceably removing something and a player simply not crafting it. And yes, ME1 had vehicle encounters where you could get out and shoot, but I don't think they designed that vehicle/outdoor combat particularly well - clearly BW thought the same way, because it never really came back for ME2/ME3 and all the Hammerhead sequences were vehicle-only.
Given how imperfect a lot of ME1's elements were, and given how many of them were dropped in the later games, it's not really a compelling argument that MEA will (or should) copy what the first game did just because they're bringing back vehicle exploration. At a minimum, having optional vehicle combat brings up balance and difficulty issues, it means we can camp ages away with a sniper rifle in sections designed for vehicle combat, there may be XP exploits if the vehicle is too powerful and people can grind ambient enemies, etc. Not to mention that designing satisfying on-foot and vehicle combat encounters for hundreds (?) of planets seems like an unrealistic workload.
I would like it if MEA tried vehicle combat again (perhaps in a limited way by restricting us to certain planets or parts of planets in the Mako), I just don't see it happening at all. They've already clearly come out and said the Mako doesn't have a gun, why are people suddenly assuming there's more to it than that?
