Haha, good luck. I tried getting him to give me a clue about when it's coming over on Twitter, goose egg. I kinda get the impression early next year. I mean, from what he and Gamble were saying, they are done with the bulk of the work, which means it will probably go into QC with Microsoft and Sony round about the time Omega comes out and that seems to take about 4-6 weeks, so mid-January seems to be about right for that to come out...

And if the team that worked on Leviathan are working on "the big one," then it seems like that one will most likely be aiming to come out with the anniversary of ME3's release in March.

If they can actually pull off what a lot of us in some of the other forums are thinking they are working up to, and it is as epic as we think it will be, they could very well put out a GOTY edition. Although, I pointed this out somewhere, I can't remember where...the last collected "GOTY"-esque edition BioWare put out was Dragon Age: Origins - The Ultimate Edition. ME2 never got it. Dragon Age II never earned it. Mass Effect 3 hasn't been out long enough to need it. I'm honestly very disappointed that the ME Trilogy didn't come with all the DLC up until ME3. I mean, SURELY they could have maybe released it at a slightly higher price tag than they did and threw all the DLC in with all editions...

Care to elaborate what you think they might be working up to? I haven't been on the forums in months, and welcome any possible good news, even if it's hypothetical :)

Pretty much, the same thing that has been rumored on here since that Acavayos video popped up on YouTube in April, I think it was. That each of the DLCs are planting subtle hints in the game, pointing more and more at some HUGE reveal. Possibly that everything after Shepard getting hit was just a dream/near-death experience/hallucination and that choosing Destroy actually wakes Shepard up on the streets of London (hence, the breath scene). Jos Hendriks has been Tweeting all this week about some huge project he has been working on, and has only recently managed to complete a huge piece of "logic," and from Gamble's responses, it has absolutely nothing to do with programming language. Gamble confirmed earlier today that this was actually a piece of single player DLC, something "unlike anything [we've] done before."

@MWMike2011 Yeah, well, that's very hypothetical. And extremely unlikely at the same time. If BioWare writers ever wanted to acknowledge the IT, they would've done so in the Extended cut. But they did quite the contrary, in fact.

Hopefully within the next week or so!

(Or if they're only doing one trailer, it could be right before Nov. 28th :/)

Well, now, not necessarily. It might be that EC was never part of the plan, and they always planned on releasing little snippets leading up to something bigger all along, so showing their hand up front wouldn't have made much sense...

Well, there are only two major problems with that. Firstly, if BioWare wanted to make a new (better) ending one day, its PR wouldn't so "forcefully" dismiss all requests for it. Secondly, if (and that's a big IF) the writers somehow implemented the IT into ME3, I don't think there would be a good reaction to it -- I mean, Reapers still around, and Shepard lying torn up somewhere on Earth isn't a particularly good epilogue. Therefore, the whole ending, perhaps the entire Priority Earth mission, would've to be radically changed. And BioWare isn't going to do that.

So, what - they spent three months and millions of dollars making the Extended Cut for free - which also delays the future revenue of other DLC packs - only to make it redundent with other DLC content in the future? How does that make any business sense? Why would a "secret real ending" be released as paid DLC anyway, given statistically so few players even purchase add-ons?

Sorry, there's grasping at straws and then there's completely inventing things.

I'm on the grasping straw side of the fence too.

But it COULD be that EC was created because they didn't expect the reaction to be so negative. This doesn't mean that they didn't plan to expand on the ending anyway. Maybe they just had different plans about it. Like, doing it later and more surprising.
It's highly unlikely, though.

But I do have to wonder, the people at BioWare pretty surely like the ME games too. They have to see why the endings suck for so many players, too. I mean, yeah, from the outside the negative reaction is weird, but if you played the games you understand it, even if you don't feel so negative about that.
So, when the team thinks that the ending deserve to be better, this could have an impact too.Sometimes business decisions go strange ways.

/hug + beer or two :D

Two bucks says that it's just for some new MP expansion pack and has nothing to do with the rumored "Citadel" SP DLC.

Its for SP DLC, maybe not "Citadel" but who knows

Nice, always good to be sure.

"Naw. Omega comes out on November 27th. There's no way we'd be able to still work on it!"

Single player DLC that is after Omega. At least you know they're still working away at new DLC!

That is really good to know! :D

The Puzzle Theory would be a great way for BioWare to give the ME trilogy a better ending. Although I can't say I believe it will happen, I'm hoping for it nonetheless.

Not only that, but time can help tempers to cool, and EA may be seeing the success of the DLC and saying "We want this to continue, we want to keep this income flow and we know if we don't extend the ME story (and Shep) that it's going to dry up, so we're going to overrule those at Bioware if need be to make it happen and the franchise to continue".. Of course, we all know the counter-arguments, and I agree it's a small chance, but.... pleasant to think about! :)

Thanks for sharing! :)

It would also be a great way to stir up the ####storm all over again.

Perhaps not all DLCs. And BioWare could call it: the Director's cut. (Some movies offer theatrical version, extended version, and the Director's cut, after all.) Anyway, I think most people would be happy to get a good ending, "regardless" of the cost.

This exactly. I can only assume they made the endings as they were because they were aiming for a cliffhanger sort of deal. They were expecting the original endings to cause such a massive ####storm, so they had to undergo some damage control. I HIGHLY doubt it actually cost them millions and millions of dollars, and more likely they had a separate, albeit smaller, team working on Leviathan the whole time.

Yes, BioWare undoubtedly loves their games, but perhaps they love them enough to want to take their time on a true, fantastic ending that truly wraps up the series nicely. Do I believe that that DLC will be free only if you have all the others? No. Do I think that the only way you can get it is to have all the others? No. Personally, I would be willing to bet that they are going to use markers in the base game to point to this, and just have the DLC integrated tighter in the DLC if you have them...

And they'll be in their right to complain:
You have to pay to win... Literally. And this time I'll agree with those who will complain, having to buy dlc to get an ending is... Disgusting.

And then what?
If you want to get to access to the 2° part of ME4 first you'll have to buy all dlc's?
No, just... No.

Unless they add said ending for free, I'm against this idea.

I don't think that they would require you to buy all the DLC in order to get the big ending. If anything, they would somehow work the other DLC into this ending DLC seamlessly, but not penalize those that don't buy them...
