Not what I expected but there's still hope tomorrow will bring more right? -rose colored glasses-

Doubtful, Kotaku interviewed Aaryn and/or Mac (I'm not sure who) and basically said it was a frustrating interview because the devs are barely talking about anything at all.

WEll, what the hell happened with all those bioware excitements around the so called " EA PLAY BUILD"? this is what they call a "BUILD"? a behind the scenes trailer with some 2-3 seconds of gameplay? oh god....that was mean....but sincerely, i loved it. Just wanted it was a developer diary posted on the official site 2 months ago....I believe everyone was hoping to see much more of what's to come, specially on such a big event like this one.

However, they did showed us what we can expect concerning technical issues. We can see a lot of improvement in some areas, graphically, design, art, facial expressions, foliage, openworld, mako, colors, exp´loration, i mean, if all they talked about and showed us is really coming to us in early 2017, then they are really hiding a lot of stuff from us because there's indeed potential and hype behind all we can see on this new trailer, but we don't see how far they are, they just tellls us how far they want to go....well, i think see you next E3 then? there wasn't even a reiteration about the release date, which reminds me of how fragile it all seems to be like if they would postpone the game at any moment but couldn't give us this message on E3.

But well, i'm not really in a rush, i can wait until fall to see more. I just don't want to believe they would postpone the release date again though, and really hoping we can get our hand on the game as polished and beautiful as they are promising it.

Back into the trailer, what do you guys get from it? bioware says: "theres a lot of new stuff to get from the trailer"....even though there is really new stuff, i think we all wanted to see some real stuff, not only what bioware is capable of doing, but what they have been actually doing lol

No plot details, no characters details, no gameplay details....we can see beautful scenarios though, great graphics, awesome technical stuff indeed, but WE ARE EFFING CRAVING MASS EFFECT:ANDROMEDA! gives us something a bit come concrete please.

Really, if you guys look into the reddit thread, theres a topic there showing what was shown of the mass effect 2 stuff on 2009's E3, just a few months from release, and wow, we had like 10 minutes of pure dissecation, we had gameplay, dev was talking about what they wanted to do, what they are modifying, impletmenting, story details, mechanics all the shite....okay, back then we were like 2 months from release so they actually can show us somehing like that before the end of the year but who knows!?

Now i have a noob question: why does humanity need to look for a new home in another galaxy!? what the hell happened? i mean, ME3's ending clearly shows that some big explosions probably destroyed some stuff, but i really believe Earth was still habitable, and even Admiral Hackett tells us that it would take some time but they could rebuild the citadel and the mass relays etc.....besides, there is evidence that makes us believe that ME:A is actually hundreds of years later the events of ME3, which makes sense, but then we go back to the question: where did humanity would have been living since the reapers events? does earth is really destroyed: there was not a single habitable planet in all milky way galaxy? they must elaborate more on this stuff , c'mon bioware, show your TEETS, or tweeets or whatever

PS: We can't wait to see what you can't wait to show us!

My impression was that, in the darkest of times, when it was dawning on people in the MW that the reapers truly were coming, they must have secretly developed multiple contingency plans in case the crucible didn't work. They probably sent the ark out as a backup for continued survival of certain species.

It's a valid explanation and I will be disappointed if it's something else.

Nah. People just mad every female character doesn't look like a supermodel.

There was a guy tweeting like a dozen times at the @masseffect account before about how the jawline of that asari proved that Bioware was captured by SJWs or something.

People get incredibly batpoo crazy about female characters in videogames.

On their E3 podcast, https://simplecast.com/s/5118c120

I think it was the same interview as they quoted from above where Mac talked about the endings

About the Tempest

An updated Normandy design, was my modest expectation, a revolutionary one even better. I understand the"need" to inject the Mass Effect appeal but did the designers of the Tempest really have to include Vertical Stabilizers in the rear? That's for control and maneuverability in air.... same with the Canards in the front.

Oh, well....

Well, the trailer does show that the Tempest will often enter atmosphere so they do serve a purpose.

Oh you mean the ARK theory, right? ok that's a valid one actually. But its kinda strange because is it is so, then we don't need an actual NEW HOME, because earth is still there, but they couldn't know about it before shipping out to andromeda....but it seems that theres no reason to believe something different from that , actually, as you say.

Sure, just like Normandy, Tempest have to land and dock so it need atmospheric maneuverability too.

I´m kind of horrified to see what happened to this forum over night. Nearly every thread is a massive overreaction.

You mean like the air on this planet with blue skies and trees where it has clearly landed?

We see the Tempest landed on planets in several occasions, so it needs to manouver in air.

I haven't been around the forums in a while, and I wasn't following development until closer to release so I wasn't sure. Thanks for the clear up.

Until they'll confirm how and when we reached Andromeda, it'll be a fun ride seeing all the speculation.

I'll laugh so hard if they decided to not reveal the backstory in both development or in the game.

It doesn't look bad - I just hope they don't cater too much to a very young audience - I'm getting too old for that. Overwatch squeaky voice really put me off.

About the Tempest

Thanks for pointing out that the Normandy and Tempest can fly in the air and land too. However, it's the principle of the thing.

A spaceship stays in space. A large enough ship will have either Assault Shuttles or general purpose Landing Shuttles in the Cargo/Shuttle Bay.... thinking ME2, here. To see a spaceship maneuver in planetary atmosphere is weird. To design one that can maneuver in both space and air is not cost effective.

But, I accept what it is.... moving on, now

We'll be showing a LOT more, including tons of gameplay, as we get closer to ship (fall timeframe). We are heads down working hard :)

Kotaku was disappointed with the interview.  Bio's transition from hype to tight azz is surprising.

I'll review what happens today (Mon, June 13, 2016) before making any speculations. Flynn and Co. may offer explanation(s). Certainly, they saw the fans' reactions.... Bio needs to respond to this.

In the meantime. EURO soccer.

Even I was able to piece together a working spaceplane in KSP. Full orbit. You need to accept it's still fiction with all the mass and effects not working as in reality.

Yeah, nah.

I've boarded the hype train twice already and both times it drove three feet and stopped.

No longer up for it.

I sure hope they earnt their lesson about keeping core stuff vague or not bothering with explanation at all. Not gonna work this time either so they better have long Codex entries explaining the economic benefits of Ark project, technology behind it etc. "Humans are curious, Columbus went to America" excuse won't fly (BTW the only reason Columbus could go was thanks to the Crown wanting profits from new trade route to India)
