MAC WALTERS: REDEEMED?
Seriously, the guy gets an inordinate amount of hate from this fanbase.
I feel better now. Just give us info and we will be happy! It's easy ![]()
Geoff is actually a great interviewer, he got some good answers from Walters.
Yes, I was so happy! He asked straight-up questions that were impossible to dance around.

Speaking of Mac Walters, another little piece of news from an IGN interview.

He says that they've realized that romances are kind of formulaic, just hit a few key scenes, and then bam, romanced. Wants to make it more organic and life-like, and not dependent on a few decisions.
Yeah, I'm really, really not a fan of tying MP and SP together in any way.
I wish they had gone the DAI route and kept them separate...
But they were tied in DAI, story-wise. There's a chance that's all they mean by it.

Haven't you read the leak? At worst it's basically the war table system, but at best it's a load of extra side missions you can play solo.

I think he means in terms of interaction between the two. ME3's MP impacted single-player endings, while DAI's had no impact on SP progression. It's fine if they are related by story or by context, but he doesn't want one affecting the progression of the other.

Yeah, I'm 99% sure that it's going to be more than just a story tie-in.

I haven't read the leak.

I felt that way too lol
What I got from Ryders, is that the family is tied to the storyline. Also how you choose your character will be different from Shepard. Sounds interesting

I'm going to play MP either way, but yeah. I really don't want them too connected.

Then they gave decor unlocked with MP and we know what happened after that ![]()
I haven't read the leak.
Avoiding spoilers, are you? Well, without revealing anything much, it's not like the connection between ME3 SP and MP.
This sums up my mood after that interview pretty well:

I'm cool with a family. ME:A is basically all about family and survival. Spacer and Colonist Shepard has/had a family, so nothing really changed.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

I may wind up playing some MP, but on principle, I like them to be separate things. And I completely forgot about the dragon decor.... Yeah, that went over well. ![]()
I totally missed this, because of sleeping in Europe:
“I think it’s fair to say that with even the most creative scientific advancements, it’s hundreds of years to travel to Andromeda,” Walters said. “So that should give you some sense of how far in the future it might be.”

So much for being able to create characters with different backgrounds for roleplayability.

Why?
On the news, I'm glad we got family again. Please Bioware, do a better job then in DA2 though.
edit: ah, I got it. I'm sorry for you.

I never understood why, but haters are gonna hate.
